Terrific in all aspects. Wonderful place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Don’t miss the Ultimate coconut cake.
Always a fantastic fine dining experience!
Simply outstanding in every respect.
It's the best upscale dining in town. Service is always good and food excellent!
Our waitress was wonderful and the food was delicious! Just the right serving size. And the coconut cake, Delicious!!
The ambiance of this restaurant is charmingly southern. The waitstaff was attentive and pleasant. The food was impeccable. Would highly recommend.
Consistently great cuisine, service (Justin) and atmosphere. We also go to Peninsula Grill when we visit Charleston.
The food and ambience was flawless but our server was not friendly.
We have eaten at The Peninsula Grill before and always it was a great dining experience. The food was exceptional, the service excellent, and the ambiance superb.
This was recommended by family and it did not disappoint. We celebrated a birthday and the waitress was so wonderful. Definitely a must in Charleston!
Food and win were excellent. Service a little slow.
First visit to Peninsula Grill and it was perfect. Food was excellent and the service was impeccable. Escargot, rack of lamb, veal chop were all cooked perfectly, presented beautifully, and textures and flavors were wonderful. Server Nabila was friendly, knowledgeable about all items and about Charleston. She was supported by the entire staff and manager to make for a memorable meal.
Exquisite dinner. Service was impeccable, attentive but not intrusive. The dining area is quiet and elegant yet not stuffy.
Best meal we've had in a long time.
The restaurant inside the Planter's Inn serves amazing steaks. All the food was good, and the service was also top notch. There was a bit of sticker shock as it was the first time indulging in fine dining since hyperinflation began four months earlier, on Jan. 20, 2021. The top price was 100 for an aged filet. Normally one wouldnt expect to see that for a piece of meat anywhere outside Charleston's notorious red-light district.
Very nice setting and welcoming bar as you come in. However checkin/hostess was less welcome than expected for a higher end establishment. Dining room was very loud, I definitely recommend a table outside on the patio. Food was nice, wide selections and everything we had was very good. But table service was again just ok, not up to expectations or for the price you’re paying. Don’t think we’ll return, lots of other options in Charleston to consider.
Josh, our server, was outstanding. My husband loved his foi gras and steak Oscar. My escargo was similar to pencil erasers, tough and without taste Josh had them removed from our bill when he saw I was not eating them. My steak, for some reason was very tough even though it was the same cut as my husband's and the same medium rare although not Oscar. On a positive note the deserts were great
I would skip this place. Food is fine but not worth the price. Variety is lacking and portions are small.
This was a birthday celebration and the restaurant did put a candle on their coconut cake which we were charged. Dining room is formal and we have no complaints about the steaks and appetizers. Service was stiff. Also it would be better if the restaurant did not offer the complimentary rolls straight from the microwave. I may be jaded after a week of dining but the evening was good but nothing special
The food was beautifully presented. The coconut cake is the best anywhere. Professional and courteous service.
Elegant setting, fabulous food. Really great restaurant!
It was the last night of our getaway to Charleston and we wanted to go to some place special to cap off our trip, and Peninsula Grill did not disappoint! Service was tremendous, professional, and pinpoint accurate. Our server Jessica was awesome, engaging and knowledgeable about food and wine pairings. Support staff runs like a well oiled machine as well. Food presentation was exquisite as was the flavor! The wine list, while expensive as you’d expect, was varied and the wines I selected to pair with our dishes went so well together. Five stars in our book and we can’t wait to come back next year!

She crab soup
Everything was AMAZING!! Food, service, atmosphere were all top notch!
Fantastic experience start to finish. The food and ambience were phenomenal as well as the service.
Excellent food and service. Our favorite night out in Charleston!!
Delia is awesome! Food incredible. Best goto for special dinner in Charleston.
Everything was outstanding! Truly a fine dining experience not to be missed!
A great dining experience! One of our two favorite restaurants in Charleston.
Our server, Jessica, was attentive, spot on about descriptions and very friendly. We give her six out of five. The atmosphere was trendy and classy, the rest of the staff was extremely aware.
If we could give the food a 4.5, we would. It wasn’t perfect and it was too good to be a 4 The lobster 3 ways was a five, as were the field greens, the oysters and the lamb chops. The swordfish special was very tasty but rather salty and the flavors of the she crab soup were out of balance, with cream as the dominant flavor.
All in all, it’s a good choice for a special meal.
Unfortunately not as welcoming as my last visit. Host was pretty unfriendly and made us wait a bit for no apparent reason. Food was good, but definitely not up to the last visit.
Would recommend this for a lovely night out (Adults only would be a good choice)!
We enjoyed a lovely evening at Peninsula Grill. Delia was our server and she helped to make our dining experience perfect. We dined there regularly before the pandemic, so it has been over a year since our last visit, and Delia still remembered us! She’s a true asset to your team.
Attentive service, excellent sommelier advice, and a few spectacular dishes (the tartar and filet were particularly notable). Other dishes (scallops, escargot, coconut cake) were just ok. A nice experience to be sure, but I frankly expected more given the restaurant’s reputation.
Nice setting, excellent service. I had a terrific salad, but my grouper was rather flavorless. I was a bit disappointed, but would give it another try.
Fine and elegant dining. A place you want to be for special occasions and simply an elegant night out.
Filet ordered medium well and verbally told the server should be pink...NO red. The meat was medium rare and that opinion was shared by everyone at the table. The server tried to convince me it was really pink. Sent most of it back uneaten. The asparagus was very good. The goat-cheese potatoes mediocre. Pretty restaurant but very expensive and we are accustomed to paying high prices for dinner. The manager tried to make it up to us with a free dessert but dinner was ruined so not interested in dessert.
