It was a great experience to go to this type of restaurant, especially for my son who was with me since he is in college for his Culinary Arts Degree.
PG is always good with incredible food and drinks. Attentive service without being obtrusive. My favorite high end restaurant.
The food, service and atmosphere were outstanding! My wife had the scallops and I had the lamb. Both were absolutely delicious. We shared a piece of the coconut cake to wind down our evening. It was fabulous. Anyone looking for a very special evening should go to the Peninsula Grill in Charleston.
Everything was perfect! We were celebrating our anniversary. The host immediately wishes us a happy anniversary. Our server was excellent. The She crab soup, Scallops and my husband got a Filet. All were perfect. Also, I got the Jalapeño Passion fruit margarita which was wonderful as well. Everything was truly perfect. Thanks for a great evening.
The best restaurant in Charleston. Get the coconut cake. You’ll leave happy every single time.
Delicious food- fois gras , duck, steaks and greens all cooked to perfection. Luscious desserts, wonderful cocktails and our favorite Turley wine. Service is impeccable- can’t wait to return.
After a year of pandemic isolation, it was a true joy to experience fine dining again, and Peninsula Grill offers the very best of fine dining. The wait staff was incredibly attentive, subtle, and efficient. Our sommelier assisted in choosing the absolutely most perfect wine for our meals. And the new chef has put his touch on all the dishes, ensuring that every plate is perfect in taste and presentation before being presented to the guests. The entire evening was a breath of fresh air. Highly recommended.
Stellar meal an service!
Great place! Been here many times and it’s always good however this time it was off. Quality of the food was not great, even the coconut cake looked and tasted different. Also noted the prices have gone up substantially so I would expect the quality to be the same.
Food, service and ambience were fantastic, as usual.
The ambiance, food and service is always exceptional!!
Greeted by Erich at the front - hospitality plus. Excellent service by Ben and the cuisine was super yummy. Escargot and filed greens were excellent and creative - swordfish special was excellent. Very good wine list and love the understated ambiance. Wonderful evening - just hard to get reservations but worth the wait. 😊🍷
Exceptional as always. The food was amazing. Robert was a great server and thank you Mark for the great wine recommendation. All in all a wonderful evening.
Excellent and classic fine dining experience! One of Charleston’s oldest and best!
Vacation Dinner . Quality of the food was outstanding.
All was great except is was very cold. Food was superb.
Honeymoon vacation, excellent experience
Terrific in all aspects. Wonderful place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Don’t miss the Ultimate coconut cake.
Always a fantastic fine dining experience!
Simply outstanding in every respect.
It's the best upscale dining in town. Service is always good and food excellent!
Our waitress was wonderful and the food was delicious! Just the right serving size. And the coconut cake, Delicious!!
The ambiance of this restaurant is charmingly southern. The waitstaff was attentive and pleasant. The food was impeccable. Would highly recommend.
Consistently great cuisine, service (Justin) and atmosphere. We also go to Peninsula Grill when we visit Charleston.
The food and ambience was flawless but our server was not friendly.
We have eaten at The Peninsula Grill before and always it was a great dining experience. The food was exceptional, the service excellent, and the ambiance superb.
This was recommended by family and it did not disappoint. We celebrated a birthday and the waitress was so wonderful. Definitely a must in Charleston!
Food and win were excellent. Service a little slow.
First visit to Peninsula Grill and it was perfect. Food was excellent and the service was impeccable. Escargot, rack of lamb, veal chop were all cooked perfectly, presented beautifully, and textures and flavors were wonderful. Server Nabila was friendly, knowledgeable about all items and about Charleston. She was supported by the entire staff and manager to make for a memorable meal.
Exquisite dinner. Service was impeccable, attentive but not intrusive. The dining area is quiet and elegant yet not stuffy.
Best meal we've had in a long time.
The restaurant inside the Planter's Inn serves amazing steaks. All the food was good, and the service was also top notch. There was a bit of sticker shock as it was the first time indulging in fine dining since hyperinflation began four months earlier, on Jan. 20, 2021. The top price was 100 for an aged filet. Normally one wouldnt expect to see that for a piece of meat anywhere outside Charleston's notorious red-light district.
Very nice setting and welcoming bar as you come in. However checkin/hostess was less welcome than expected for a higher end establishment. Dining room was very loud, I definitely recommend a table outside on the patio. Food was nice, wide selections and everything we had was very good. But table service was again just ok, not up to expectations or for the price you’re paying. Don’t think we’ll return, lots of other options in Charleston to consider.
Josh, our server, was outstanding. My husband loved his foi gras and steak Oscar. My escargo was similar to pencil erasers, tough and without taste Josh had them removed from our bill when he saw I was not eating them. My steak, for some reason was very tough even though it was the same cut as my husband's and the same medium rare although not Oscar. On a positive note the deserts were great
I would skip this place. Food is fine but not worth the price. Variety is lacking and portions are small.
This was a birthday celebration and the restaurant did put a candle on their coconut cake which we were charged. Dining room is formal and we have no complaints about the steaks and appetizers. Service was stiff. Also it would be better if the restaurant did not offer the complimentary rolls straight from the microwave. I may be jaded after a week of dining but the evening was good but nothing special
The food was beautifully presented. The coconut cake is the best anywhere. Professional and courteous service.
Elegant setting, fabulous food. Really great restaurant!
