Awesome food and service. Corkage was high at $40. Coconut cake is awesome
Always outstanding. Nice to see most patrons dressed appropriately too.
A special place with incredible wait staff and food. Love it!
Birthday dinner for 2. Very relaxed with impeccable ambiance, staff and food. A very relaxing night to say the least.
Our favorite place in Charleston
Best she crab soup on the planet!
A stylish destination for a special occasion with professional and discreet service. It’s expensive though for what is a fairly uncomplicated grill menu
Scallops were delicious! Three jumbo scallops you will love, paired well with other accompaniments.
Very nice place. Food was good not extraordinary. Service was excellent. Amuse buche was tasty. Coconut cake the best part. On the pricy side for the overall experience side. Except the desert which was very good
The service and food was outstanding. Would definitely come back again
Elizabeth was our hostess for the evening.
She was attentive and met our every need.
A small team ensured we had an exceptional culinary experience.
And yes - the coconut cake is amazing!
Amazing food and the service was one of the best experiences I’ve had. We loved the decor and old world feel.
My friend and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Peninsula Grill during our annual girls weekend in Charleston. Our waiter, David, was amazing. Impeccable service, delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. The Ultimate Coconut Cake definitely lived up to its legend!
The dining experience was highlighted by the ambience and service with a wonderful menu selection toppings off a
excellent evening! From the salad to the main course and with a great wine suggested by the very professional
sommelier, we will remember the evening for a long time!
Birthday dinner- lovely, quiet corner table for two, fabulous waiter, Jonathan, who knows what’s doing and did it all perfectly, food was scrumptious, especially the coconut cake on a decorated plate. Highly Recommend!
It was impressive. Our server Justin was spectacular!
Better than the first time.
Peninsula Grill is outstanding from the food to the servers. Everyone works in concert to make your meal an excellent dining experience. The menu has something for everyone. The portions are substantial and the presentation is exquisite. Their attention to detail is impeccable. Highly recommended!!
I ordered the prime bone-in ribeye, and it had way too much “marbling” for a $60 steak. Never again.
Service was great.
Wonderful experience for our first night in Charleston. Danielle was our server. She was very attentive and the service was top notch. The She-Crab soup was velvety smooth and rich and full of crab meat. The ribeye was cooked well and had great flavor. Probably one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long while. Highly recommend while visiting Charleston!!
It was awesome. Well worth going outside in the garden
Love the soft surfaces which are both warm feeling, and provides for quiet dining & conversation. Visually, it's very private as well, with it only having 3 narrow windows, all looking out onto a beautiful courtyard.
Everything about this dinner was fabulous. The espresso martini, the lobster ravioli, pan seared scallops and the toffee ice cream sundae. Compliments to the chef. Just visiting Charleston for the first time. So happy we picked this restaurant.
Fantastic food and service. Our server and the entire staff made our anniversary very special with a complimentary appetizer and dessert. Can’t remember our servers name, but he was excellent. Had an after dinner cordial at the bar and talked to the bartender who was excellent as well
Peninsula Grill was elegant and upscale with a great wine list and excellent service. The coconut cake is definitely a “must” if you like coconut
Overall? A very enjoyable evening. The food and the service were terrific. We were immediately directed to a table that had clearly been set up for us - in the bar. This was definitely a bit of a surprise that we weren't pleased with, but as the evening wore on the food and the service made up for it.
However, because it IS unusual to be seated in a bar area at an upscale establishment without being asked about it beforehand, I can't give full marks to your restaurant. I certainly won't reserve with you online again without speaking with someone from the restaurant to confirm our arrangements.
Fair warning, under different circumstances or with other customers this could prove to be an unpleasant issue.
Just a perfect setting...service and the food was amazing...the staff couldn't be more attentive and helpful...definitely will return!!!
We sat outside and had a wonderful evening. The sevice was impeccable, and the food was GREAT. The best restaurant experience I have had in quite a while! For fine dining, PG is as good as it gets anywhere!
Birthday dinner and I loved it! Can’t think of a better choice. Great wine, fantastic food and service. Highly recommended!
very enjoyable to celebrate my 65th birthday.
Would definitely return for a special occasion
Great restaurant, we certainly didn’t get 5 star service.
Celebrated our 50th anniversary. Outstanding food and service.
The entire experience was wonderful from beginning to end!
One of the best meals we have had. Fantastic restaurant. Steak tartare, beef filet, scallops w lobster chunks all great
Peninsula grill continues to amaze with the food, service, and dining atmosphere.
A very special place.....A 5 star experience in every way. The service and food presentation were top of the line.
We went for our anniversary based on recommendations we heard. Initially they were slow with the service but by the end of our dinner they were very good. The atmosphere was exceptional; we ate in the court yard which is first come first serve regardless of having a reservation. The waiter was clearing the table after the appetizers and knocked a water glass over which splashed all over my wife. They were very apologetic. The maître d' talked to the host of the Planter's Inn which they are a part of and got a room where my wife could use a hair dryer to dry off her clothes. The dinner itself was very good and due to the unfortunate accident they did not charge for the lobster that my wife had. The coconut cake was outstanding.
To begin. Food was delicious... We did not order an appetizer so our wait to eat was incredibly long. The waitress tried to explain that because we had not ordered an appetizer the chef was not prepared to serve our food in a timely manner. The restaurant was relatively empty when we arrived...
Also? The waitress spoke to quickly and to softly.. we could not understand a word she was saying.. She could not compensate for the escalating rising noise level. It was very annoying!!!! Having said that she was polite and I’m sure was trying her best ..,.
Excellent food, great service, a little noisy and tables too close together
The experience our party had at The Peninsula Grill was fantastic! The food and service were perfect. Will make this a permanent stop for our golf trips to the area.
Great selection of food
Coconut cake was the best
Service was amazing
Easily made a 8:45 pm reservation on Open Table for Peninsula Grill. I had read the Peninsula Grill within the Planter's Inn was a must for their coconut cake and champagne. When we arrive the hostess abruptly let me know that they didn't take reservations for dessert until after 10 pm, but recognized that we had an online reservation. There were plenty of tables available; however, we were seated in the noisy and cramped bar. Barring that part of the experience, the wait staff was excellent as was their signature coconut cake and the recommended dessert wine.
