The restaurant is fine - it's one of a few dozen in the North End that are all pretty similar. The food was mediocre for all four of us in my group, the service was hurried, and the prices were ridiculous. But, it's completely in line with every other restaurant in the North End, and we knew that going in. Our expectations were met, and that's why we only eat in the North End once a year. If you have a specific reason for dining in the North End and eating Italian, then this is a fine choice. However, don't expect the best Italian food in the Boston area (my favorites are La Morra in Brookline, or Sweet Basil in Needham).
The restaurant is small and intimate. My food was delicious (mushroom ravioli), as was one of my friends (carbonara), however the meatballs were plain and under flavored from the third persons meal. The service was slow even though it wasn’t full but the waiter was very nice.
We went to Pellino’s for our friends birthday and we were so happy with our choice.
Our friends want to go back as soon as possible.
Good food, but lacking in atmosphere. Hostess / waitress was pushy and a bit brusque, but she grew on us over the course of the meal.
Best lamb chops in town
Food and service were amazing. Antipasto feeds 2 easy, Fresh pasta was awesome and chocolate molten cake was the best. Our server was great
Everything was fantastic! Great North End atmosphere- try their “ Signature Dishes” for a very memorable experience.
Service was 5-star!
We were pleased with our dining experience, we had the meatball app, veal special and penne a la vodka. All were excellent. Service was alsovery good. We had a nice cozy window seat. It was a Sunday night so it was quiet, not sure what it would be like on a busy night. Would recommend.
The food and service was excellent. I loved the mussels and veal parmigiana. Service was great, and portions were ample! Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Mother’s 73rd Birthday
Our group had a lovely meal at Pellino's. Even our resident first-generation Italian-American gave the food raves. Most of us has pasta; it was fresh and delicious. We shared a collection of antipasti which was almost a meal in itself. Of the house-made desserts, the tiramisu was a standout (the cannolis were good, too). Our server was pleasant and attentive. We'll definitely be back--as a group and individually.
Amazing food - both simple and more elaborate options. Adorable atmosphere. It's off the beaten path and it's not on the main strip of Hanover St in the North End, which makes for a quaint, neighborhood feel with authentic food!
Homemade pasta was chewy but bolognese was tasty. Arancini was cold. They offer a martini with vodka and cranberry juice but will not make you a mixed drink (asked for vodka cranberry and was told there was not a full bar....what?????) While there were limited tables in the restaurant, the service was overbearing. Won’t be back when there’s so many other places to choose from in the area.
This place has become my go to restaurant in the north end. I've been back five or six times now, and each meal is perfect
Incredible food, service, ambience. Felt like a slice of Italy. All Homemade pastas which is hard to find even in the north end. Delicious.
Phenomenal food and exceptional service. The open air front of the restaurant was so perfect on this unseasonably mild October evening. Everything from
Appetizers to main entree was impeccable. I will return and will definitely recommend.
Our food was awesome!! I had the veal parmesan which was the best ever. My husband had the lasagne which he also though was delicious. We would definitely come back again.
Food was nice and the place was clean and pretty.
Atmosphere was better than the food. Food was mediocre
We sat near the street with the window open. Great traditional Italian fare, seafood, and home made pasta. Decent wine list. Moderately priced. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. They take reservations, which is a great thing in the North End. I've eaten there several times, and it is consistently good. Six empty plates this time!
Visited a little over two years ago, had a great meal. Decided to bring friends with this time and was truly disappointed. Started our vacation off on a low note.
We were visiting Boston and this restaurant was recommended by a cousin who lives near Boston- it did not disappoint! The mushroom ravioli and the lasagna were so fantastic the whole family voted to go back again the next night which was our last night before we headed home. Natasha waited on us the first night and was great! Sorry I can't remember our waiters name the next night but he was great too! Very friendly down to earth atmosphere.
A cozy, somewhat typical North End restaurant. Outstanding food with a fairly broad menu in a tight (cozy?) brick-walled space with open windows to the street. We both chose red-sauce pasta dishes and both were outstanding. If you're looking to linger over a lengthy meal, this might not be the choice: Our food was out very quickly and we felt a little rushed to move it along when we were done, even though there were open tables (it was after 9 by the time we were done). Reasonable prices for the quality of the meal but wouldn't call the ambience or the service outstanding.
The food here is generous and beautifully presented. Their bread is delicious! Highly recommend this place
This restaurant is good but not great. They do take reservations and a lot of restaurants in the north end do not. Their homemade pastas were very good.
The food here was outstanding. Homemade pastas with excellent sauce to go with them. My daughter ordered the lemon sole..it was the best I've had anywhere. The pastas were all cooked perfectly - al dents. Very friendly wait staff. Wish this place was in my neighborhood in Michigan!!
First time there, after visiting numerous other north end restaurants. The Gnocchi, lasagna and lobster ravioli were all very delicious. Natalia, our waitress, was wonderful!
We had a wonderful meal with freshly made pasta, and house made meatballs. The lobster ravioli, which they also make from scratch, was delicious. Friendly, yet professional waitstaff. Great North End restaurant that makes their own pasta.
