Pellegrino's Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
My party of 15 was seated on the outdoor patio and taken care of by a waiter and waitress. The owner, Bobby, visited our table when we were seated and before ordering drinks or ordering our appetizers and entrees. He altered several of the dishes to accommodate each of us. The choices were delivered and everyone was overjoyed with their meal. Coffee and the desserts were excellent. An overall excellent dining experience!!!!
the food was ok nothing special we were overcharged for mcallan 12 year old @20.oo a drink and when i askede for the owner was told he was not there but a young man named joe said thats our price in a nasty manner . i have not been there in a long time but i will never be there again
The food was excellent. However, the prices were high. Too many good Italian restaurants to warrant these prices. They won't get us back there as I ordered veal parmigiana (excellent and huge) and was told it didn't come with a side of pasta. After charging $27 for just the veal I didn't like that I had to pay $10 for a half order of spaghetti. So my meal became $37. Give me a smaller portion of veal and include the pasta. They lost a customer.
The restaurant is pretty, the wait staff is good. The problem is that the food was ordinary and the prices were high. The caesar salad was $8 but if you wanted anchovies it was $11. It came warm and too much dressing made it soggy. The main course came with a potato croquette and they didn't allow you to substitute it with pasta.
We enjoy going to a restaurant where the staff is friendly, the food is great and it isn't a hassle to get into. Pelligrinos fits the bill. Fried calamari was bland so the sauce was needed for flavor. Our meals were ample and tasty. We will continue to go here for a nice casual evening.
When we arrived the host said we had no reservations so I showed him my cell phone with the open table confirmation. He said he could accommodate us anyway and lead us into the dining room that had a total of 2 people in it. I asked for a table not a booth and he said that since we were only two he had to save his tables for parties of 4.
The bread was warm and stale. The waiter recited the few specials and grudgingly disclosed their prices when questioned. He said that they only had 2 portions of Lasagna left. I said there is no one here, is it left over from yesterday and he said it tastes better on the second day
The food was just OK but not for the high prices and small portions
When we left an hour later, there was a total of 10 people in the restaurant and the tables for four were empty.
There was no semblance of hospitality and I wont go back.
We had never eaten here before and we will most certainly be back. All of the food was very good, from the appetizers to the entrees. My yellow tail fish special was excellent. This is a great place for authentic Italian dishes. Our server had just started there that week and was very pleasant. The menu had lots of choices and everyone in our party of 6 was happy.
This was a last minute pick when we couldn't decide where to go for dinner. Excellent Alfredo and Believe it or Not the best chicken livers I have ever eaten. Their antipasto plate was good but the meat was on the warmish side and seemed to have been sitting out for a while.
The restaurant has a nice outdoor patio and a warm, inviting interior with a lively bar. The appetizer of insalata di mar is outstanding. The pasta and veal wishes were great. In particular the veal chop.
Tiramisu and cappuccino make perfect ending to the meal.
Everything that came out of the kitchen was wonderful. The Clams Oreganata and Cesar salad were very tasty and fresh. Papadelle were cooked perfectly and the Filletto sauce was nice and light. Chicken Scap was terrific and was falling off the bone with a mixture of hot and sweet peppers and chucks of sausage. We can't wait to go back to try more items. Our server Sophia did a very nice job. Prices were reasonable for quality food and they make a nice drink as well.
Both the food and service is top notch. I had the Chicken Scarpariello
and it was delicious. The chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender and the sausage and hot cherry peppers made this dish scrumptious.
We have had other plates there as well and they were all top notch as well. The veal dishes melt
in your mouth and the fish is nothing but fresh. Try the yellow tail snapper.
We eat out in South Florida 3 days a week. I am attempting to hit the targets on Open Table starting in Delray and going South to Miami. Pellegrino's with this weekend's pick. I had the Lemon Chicken the bone. Very tasty and good size portion. Service attentive and quick. My wife had the veal. My wife is the most picky person in the world. 7 out ten dishes are returned. Not this one. She devoured the meal and said she would come back. Pellegrino's is not to be missed.
Been here three times now, and I have concluded that the food and service are OK. And I probably say that because the menu and the prices would lead you to believe it's a great place with great food. Yes, it's a little pricey and the portions are adequate, just nothing about the place warrants a "great" review. I think you can get food as good in many other Boca Raton places.
I was so disappointed when I moved from NYC to Florida to not be able to find a good, inexpensive Italian restaurant. My search is over! I was recommended to Pellegrino's by a friend who has eaten there for years, and he was right about the place. The food is old-style Italian and it is delicious. Be forewarned that there are no pizzas or flatbreads here, just delicious meat, veal, chicken and fish dishes. One of the house specialities, Pollo alla Scarpariello, is absolutely delicious, with the chicken fall-off-the-bone tender and a delicious accompaniment of both hot and sweet sausage. The Vittello alla Pellegrino is another special dish, this time with veal and sausage. Everyone who I've taken to this fine restaurant has loved their meal!
I have dine here almost once a month, and certainly consider it for a special night. The owner and staff are wonderful. The owner remembers his guests. This past Saturday the owner's son waited on our table. So nice and polite and helped with our dinner selections.
The ambience, both inside and out, are very inviting. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to feel welcome and expects great service and food.
Best Italian restaurant any where, owner is the brother of Franky Pelligrino the owner of Raos in NYC. I have neen there and think food at Pelligrinos is better. The Chef Luigi is amazing, comfort Itailian food. Try the chicken liver appetizer it is surpisingly good. Love the chicken scaporelli and beans with escarole
First, the food here is good. It also is overpriced and you can find equally good if not better Italian restaurants, with more fair prices nearby. $24 for spaghetti with meat sauce outrageous. Lasagana was good but at $20, not worth it. Not even a small salad comes with the entrees. Plus, for what wants to be a high end to charge extra for iced tea refills is ridiculous; especially when water is never offered, nor brought. Our waitress was apathetic at best. When she brought our meals all she said was the plates are hot. Never checked back. Each time we needed a refill we had to ask another server. She didnt know what the prices of the specials were nor did she make them sound appetizing. Only 4 tables were occupied, with 4 servers.
We are new to the area and kept passing this restaurant as we traveled along Federal Highway. We finally decided to stop in for dinner. It is very nice inside with beautiful paintings on the walls. They play lovely Italian music from some of the old singers like Jerry Vale and Dean Martin. My wife had the Yellow Tail Snapper special and I had Pasta with Shrimp. The food came out piping hot and was very good. I have already recommended to my kids who are coming down this week.
I see a lot of service complaints on here, but both times I went (Saturday and Tuesday) the service was fine. The other issue I see on here is price. I can tell you that if you are going to use quality ingredients like they do here, someone has to pay for them. Two of the people in my group ordered veal dishes. They raved about the quality of the veal. Some had dishes with Sausage; these were not supermarket sausages, they were clearly made in house or by a local butcher. This is not some up-scale Pizza joint, but a true genuine Italian fine dining restaurant. If hat is what you are looking for, this is the place. I plan to go back many times when I am in Boca.
