The food was good but service was very poor. Our waiter disappeared for 30 minutes before dessert. The restaurant is also not practicing social distancing as tables were not 6 feet apart. Had to track down the manager and ask for the bill and he really could careless when telling him about the service.

Food was absolutely fantastic! Calimari, crab bisque, sirloin, then creme brulee was all 5 star. Our waiter was very attentive and the manager, Derek, was above and beyond. He made the experience closer to 10 stars. Period.

Food was amazing and views were terrific. Note that a reservation allows access on to the property, not a seating time. I made a reservation for my wife's 40th birthday and requested seating with a view to make the celebration memorable. I checked in 5-minutes early and was told that the wait was 25-minutes for a table with a view. I returned after 30-minutes and the wait required an additional 10-15 minutes. I was finally seated one hour after my reservation time, which was very frustrating since we didn't see the sunset that I wanted to make the celebration memorable. The server and staff were polite and worked hard, but were forgetful of few items we ordered. Overall a good experience!

The spaghetti we ordered didn't cook well, the rib-eye steak was excellent. The ocean view was fantastic, the service was excellent. We'll definitely go back with family & friends, but will not order spaghetti any more.- Edward Hsu

We had a 8:15pm reservation, but were not seated until after 9pm! Frustrating, but the hostess staff was very nice.

The host and servers were very polite! For appetizer we had the shrimp cocktail. For our main entree we had the Chilean sea bass and my husband had the short ribs. Everything was delicious, we sat at the outside patio with a beautiful view.

I loved it and wished I wasn't rushed out by my party, not your fault. I have more family coming out and just today said we are going to Pelican Grill and they were very excited and hoped the course would be open so we could play.

I wanted to write you a quick note about my experience in your beautiful restaurant.
I celebrated my daughter’s bday it was her first time at your beautiful place I was looking forward for her to have a great experience. Service was outstanding from the moment we got there unfortunately after our food was served I never saw my waiter or anyone else . I had to asked for coffee and my bill . I never got a refill for water even thou my glass was empty. Very disappointed .

Unfortunately the location of the outdoor patio picks up way too much of the Coast Highway noise and this kind of hampered the Birthday as we had to yell most of the time to hear one another.

Pelican Hill is a beautiful property and the Pelican Grill is a lovely extension of the resort. Wonderful ocean views from the terrace and the entire restaurant is pretty. I had the filet mignon, which was good, but not outstanding, as the cut was tender but slim, perhaps butterflied, not a typical thick cut and lacked seasoning. Service was very good, but a bit rushed and staff a bit disorganized, perhaps due to the challenges of the coronavirus. Overall a lovely dinner and I look forward to returning after this pandemic is finally behind us all.
