Pegasus Restaurant and Taverna Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant is totally fine. The food was good and filling, and service was fine. Nothing spectacular, nothing particularly memorable. I think the server was disappointed we didn't order what he recommended but our food was good. We were tourists looking for a fun, lively Greek dining experience, and we got a totally fine, calm dinner. Considering how many Greek restaurants are in the area, this one didn't make us want to come back over trying a different one in the area next time.
Waiter was very inattentive. You could never find him. For instance, I asked for another glass of wine. Finally, after 15 minutes and toward the end of the meal, I had ask another wait staff to find our waiter. I received the glass after finishing the meal.
This was a special occasion for five people. The waiter argued about our choice of food.
Terrible meal and even worse service. Greasy fried calamari accompanied by a past-its-prime cocktail sauce, an eggplant appetizer that was so loaded with garlic as to be nearly inedible, a creme caramel dessert with the texture and taste of dried rubber cement - these were topped only by the rushed and inefficient service. It was a very busy Saturday night and the restaurant was packed, but clearly Pegasus is not handling their popularity well. Frankly, if my meal was typical, that popularity is no longer deserved.
Our reservation at Pegasus was for Mother's Day so we expected crowded and noisy.
We were pleasantly surprised that even though all tables were full, the restaurant noise level
was very low. Our server was attentive and thorough. The food was fantastic and authentic Greek delights from the soup and entrees to the desserts! We have been here many times but never on a holiday. We have never been disappointed!
Overall experience was good. Wait staff was very friendly; completely with flowers for the ladies for Mother's Day. Only complaint is that even though I had the Open Table reservation on my phone to prove it, they had no record of my reservation. Open Table might want to explore that issue with them. I would recommend calling as well to confirm, it wasn't busy when we went so not a problem, but I could see that causing problems on a busy occasion.
Celebrating college graduation- everyone and everything was top notch! Food was wonderful, service was fantastic and our server Peter explained some of the dishes that we were unfamiliar with, doing an outstanding job!! Couldn't have been happier. We will definitely be back!!! 😊😉👍🏻😃
Fun place to go and eat. Went with 5 friends - we all enjoyed the food and waiters. We had a great mixture of Greek appetizers to start and then a couple of us had fish - I had the Skate - Greek style -it was great - 1 shrimp - he loved - 1 mixed greek - they loved to grilled lamb and they both loved. We shared a couple of desserts and coffee. Fun place and great atmosphere. Very friendly and nice staff and they will recommend items for you if you can't decide!
Delectable and delicious dishes, including the spicy meatballs (Soutzoukia) as appetizer, baked macaroni with ground beef (Pastitsio), mains included chicken kabob (Kotopoulo Kebob) and calamari (Kalamarakia Tiganita). finishing with homemade Greek yogurt topped with caramelized apricots, dates, figs and raisins (Kombosta Me Yiaourti). Throughout the meal a Greek wine (like a Pinot Noir): Boutari Naoussa. All in all - a wonderful meal.
There were 6 of us. We shared appetizers (saganaki, grilled octopus, eggplant, village salad) . All delicious. We all loved our entrees (4 fish, 1 moussaka, 1 gyro). Very good roditys wine. Free valet parking . Highly recommend. Our favorite place in Greektown.
We always eat at Pegasus when we come to Greektown. Food is very good and terrific value. We typically set there on Sunday's after the 3:00 pm concert at Symphony Center. Easy drive over on Adam's and handy parking. Staff always pleasant and waitstaff always attentive. Love the saganaki and seafood. Great wind list and not too pricey. We've been coming for years to the CSO and fining at Pegasus and we live an hour north of Milwaukee. How's that for allegiance?
I'm a frequent "Greek town" visitor but since the Parthenon closed I'm trying to find my next favorite spot. This was a far cry from good. I'm expecting liveliness and friendly atmosphere when I come to Greek town. The place was dull and wait staff unfriendly and slow. The restaurant was not close to being busy on a Saturday night and the food was alright. I did like the lamb chops and the roditis wine was better than I expected. But we won't be back.
We went with a group of 8 - they sat us even though 2 of the group were late. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food choices were expansive and authentic. We especially enjoyed the appetizers but the main courses were good as well. I would go back anytime, for any occasion, with a group or just a couple. We had a great night.
We dined here with a group of friends and everything was wonderful. Friendly valet, hostess and waitstaff. Everything about our lunch was perfect and spot on. Excellent service, delicious food and a nice atmosphere. You can't beat the free valet parking. Great spot for a quick get together or a larger group. We will be back. Thank you!!
