Wonderful low key place with great food
One of the finest restaurants and experiences we’ve had. The food was incredibly creative and delicious. The service was outstanding. Our group of four had a difficulty deciding what to order (so many wonderful choices), so we ordered nine different items (plus dessert) and shared them all. Our server (Quinn) was delightful and very helpful—she actually encouraged our sharing idea. We can’t wait to dine at Peerless again!
The service was wonderful, and the food was excellent. Also, the atmosphere is feels special. I alos appreciate that they took note that we had ticket to a show at 8pm and they kept this in mind throughout our dinner.
Quickly becoming one of our favorite spots to eat❤️
We had dinner on a Saturday night with bookclub, 7 people. I was worried that dinner would be pricey for some of us. There was a great selection of items and small plates. All of us were able to get as much or as little food as we wanted at a reasonable price. No worries, the food was excellent, the service was great. We had a big table off a little in an alcove for our big table of 7 that was just right. We could hear everyone speaking. We had a delightful time!
Pre-theatre dinner. Halibut entree cooked and presented well. Excellent service.
Weekly date! Everything was wonderful.
The Peerless is our go to restaurant for special occasions. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and this place never disappoints. The ambiance, service, food and wine are all above average.
There was difficulty with our cocktails, both were made wrong. The Bartender fixed the drinks, one was redone correctly, the other was still not right and tasted odd. Our waiter was amazing. He was honest about his knowledge of wines and his recommendation was a perfect pairing for the variety of dishes we had. The Asian steamed buns are an excellent appetizer, they were so full of meat and flavor, they could have been a meal instead of an appetizer. The shrimp skewer was tasty but either overcooked or previously frozen, maybe both? The Sitake mushroom soup was perhaps the most memorable dish this evening. The soup was a simply puree full of flavor and when served with freshly baked bread--amazing! Our entrees were good; the lamb shank was trimmed and seasoned well, the halibut was done to perfection. For dessert, we shared the sorbet which had mixed review from our group, some loved the flavor and others found it too savory for a dessert. Overall, our experience at Peerless was a good one. It is unfortunate that our drinks were poorly made since they were the first item consumed at this establishment. Luckily, our waiter's attentiveness and genuine personality and Peerless's skilled chief made all our food dishes special.
We have a girl’s trip every year to enjoy the plays at the Ashland Shakespeare festival. We go out to dinner every night. We never not go to Peerless. The food & service is always fabulous.
Peerless is a delightful restaurant for wonderful food. They went out of their way to make a dish Gluten Free for me and it was delicious! The soup was amazing and everyone was happy to be included in the tasting of it. The service was friendly and fast. My one regret was that I just had no room for desert. I would recommend Peerless to anyone who wants to eat a great meal!
Wonderful happy hour menu, and very pleasant ambience.
Hands down the best dinner that I have ever had. The crew is fantastic. A prolific wine menu, and quality ingredients executed with Passion and talent.
We asked for a split entree. No problem. Enjoyed Dungeness Crab Cakes but too small. Great dessert. Layered chocolate cake.
Three of us had a lovely dinner. We were in a really comfy booth and the service and food were exemplary. A group of us are usually there during the summer and have dined outdoors, but this was the first time inside. We will most definitely go there again, both summer and winter!
What an incredible food experience. Incredible service, magnificent food, and a fantastic ambience. It was our first time visiting Peerless. We will definitely be back and will tell everybody we know bout the magical experience.
Enjoyable in every element. Simply outstanding.
Peerless remains a stellar dining experience. The food and service are exemplary. Owner Crissy Barnett-Donovan is a class act and runs a tight ship; it shows in everything Peerless (Restaurant and Hotel) does.
We were travelling from WA to CA, and this just stood out on Opentable. I'm so glad I went! Probably one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I highly recommend! Great tasting food. Our waiter Chad was awesome. Great experience and stop for a long day of travel.
Our first visit to Peerless on a gift certificate. Food is very expensive for what you get. Paid $16 for 2 very small crabcakes. My husband's hamburger was no better than one from a much lower cost restaurant. My french onion soup was authentic and tasty. Service was attentive.
We just love this restaurant and celebrate birthdays and anniversaries here every year. You just can't find a better steak, roasted chicken, and special little vegetable twists anywhere, not to mention the finest sweet vermouth ever, the Campano Antica! Peerless is definitely peerless in Ashland!
The waiter was excellent. . .the best we have had there. He was very observant of our needs and went beyond the call of duty to please us. There were no surprises and he was aware of our needs as old folks!! Keep Him!
nicely prepared dinner and pleasant service but not what I would call an inspired menu.
Eaten at Peerless several times and never been disappointed. Great food, nice inviting space inside and fantastic outside space; great service.
We're not upscale types so when my wife and I went to Peerless for Christmas Eve we were expecting to spend more than we usually can on a meal. Maybe we didn't have expensive clothes and they picked up on that as we got shoved into a cubby hole fit tightly between two tables and across from a nice wide open table for two in a window. We did have reservations too. That other table sat open for most of our stay. The meal was great, we both enjoyed our selections very much. The waiter was friendly and helped pick out some nice choices of wine. But, he did not comeback to see how everything was until we were about done with our meals. We made the best of it being Christmas Eve and we always feel fortunate to have what we have, but we were short changed on what was a very expensive meal for us. Since we just moved here we'll give the restaurant another go. It is a nice place so hopefully we'll be treated better and given a nicer table the next go around.
Wonderful food, great staff and ambiance. Would go again anytime.
Great experience, their soups are particularly special.
This is an excellent restaurant for a first class dinner in Ashland.
The food is good with a lot of unique selections and an excellent wine list.
Yummy wonderful dinner this week. Waiter was professional and efficient. We started with cocktails (excellent) and the harissa roasted cauliflower. It was excellent. We then shared the frisee and beet salad... I would not order that again... nothing special and dressing was too sweet. I had the lamb shank, cooked perfectly... and my husband had the hanger steak... again, lovely and cooked perfectly with great flavor. I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to going again.
when they found our we just got engaged our waiter brought over two glass champagne. We felt very special.
We had a very enjoyable meal. The service was attentive. The food was properly prepared and delicious. The peerless is not an inexpensive restaurant, but you can see and taste the quality of the chef's skills in both the ingredients used and their preparation.
Southern Oregon does not really have a lot of fine dining establishments. I am happy to say that the Peerless deserves to be included in the short list of those that do deserve to be called Fine Dining.
Wonderful food, awesome staff...took my girl on a date here. Impressed her with reservations lol but she absolutely loved it. The delicious food was fantastic. Our waiter was super nice. The low level music I gave me the perfect opportunity to ask my girl to dance with me.(we were the last two couples in the place) Out waiter absolutely loved that!! We had the best seat in the house....right next to the fireplace! Would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone!!
As usual the food was wonderful, the staff was very friendly and efficient! Our favorite place to be.
One of our four favorite restaurants in the world!
First time to Ashland, OR and Peerless Restaurant came highly recommended, so we booked a reservation for Thanksgiving dinner. A delightful treat and the food was delicious! Great service, great space, and comfortable environment. Would highly recommend!
We went for the prix fixe Thanksgiving meal. We had gone there last year, also, and enjoyed it so much we decided to do it again. We were disappointed with the food this time. The turkey was a bit too salty, the broccolini was not cooked well and the desserts were mediocre, if that.
The atmosphere, however, was wonderful, the service superb, and we and our friends thoroughly enjoyed dining together.
Spent a lovely Thanksgiving there. Fabulous soup to start after a nice amuse. The turkey was moist and perfectly cooked. However, I did expect more than two small slices. The mushroom stuffing was extremely tasty and a good size portion. The deserts were not particularly memorable - a mini-pumpkin pie and two other small one-bite sweets.
Service is impeccable and our table was perfectly suited for our group - quiet and tucked away as we had asked.
My friend and I enjoyed our visit. We were somewhat disappointed with the appetizers and dessert. The drinks were delicious as well as the main courses. Staff was excellent.
I have dined at the Peerless before but it had been a few years. We were very disappointed on the limited menu, the portions and the prices. Very sad to say we probably wont return for dinner, probably just for drinks... they make a good Moscow Mule.
Food was good, as always. Ambience was good. However, the selection of entree's on their full sized meals (they also serve tapa's) was very limited. Only five selections. Wines were overpriced, with no inexpensive alternatives.
