This is our go to "nice" restaurant in Ashland, OR. Always great food and friendly service.
I say nice but we should probably go more often for casual dining as well.
Peerless was a wonderful place to celebrate my mom’s birthday. The staff was polite, and the the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a pleasant and calm dining experience.
Service was not the greatest... not enough staff... felt very rushed by our servers
Great food and wine selection. Beautiful atmosphere.
Peerless was wonderful. This was our first trip to Ashland, and a local recommended it to us for a romantic dinner. It was romantic, quiet, with understated, elegant service. Lovely wines too. Scallops were amazing, but everything was delicious. We will definitely be back, if we are in Ashland again.
The wait staff was very respectful and pleasant and provided a good description of all food and drink options. The food was very good, had a little issue with bringing out one small dish with the meal, but we had plenty to eat. I had a great cocktail and beer on tap, was well paired with the meal. My wife and i sat next to the fire and had a nice cozy evening.
Outstanding food for both carnivores and vegetarians. Seated at a round table for four right in front of the fireplace. Best restaurant ambiance in Ashland. Excellent service, with server knowledgeable about the items on the menu.
We visited from out of town and had an amazing Valentine's dinner! Exactly what we hoped for! Perfect date night! We felt as if we were special guests from host to bartenders to waitress and the table busser! Of course thank you to the chef and cook's as the food was amazing!
Peerless is a great option for a special occasion. I was a little disappointed they had run out of the dish I was planing on ordering, but overall I had a great experience. My server was very attentive and they have a unique selection of cocktails.
Unfortunately the lamb entree had a undesirable texture (the meat itself). But, I did enjoy trying different options on your menu! That gnocchi is super yummy.
As long time customers we always enjoy coming back to our favorite restaurant in the Ashland/ Medford area.
Wonderful experience! The quality of the food and service is exactly what I would expect and more from a fine dining establishment such as this. I ordered an entree on special and my server knew they only had one left and pulled out his handheld device to order it right then so that no one else would get it before I could. I Love how you can see the kitchen from the dining area like a true French restaurant and it was running like a well oiled machine which was evident in the food. I'll definitely be back!
A little on the pricey side but the food, wine and service were all excellent. Definitely on our list of special-occasion restaurants.
Every bite was delicious and perfection from the first to the last...only disappointment was the desert. Had the chocolate patisserie de jour...very much a let down in comparison to all the other dishes we extremely savoured. The past couple of times the main dishes have been a hit and the desert a miss.
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our dining experience on Valentine’s Day! The food was expertly prepared, the service was friendly and prompt, and the ambiance was warm and cozy with a fire blazing in the fireplace nearby. I highly recommend Peerless to anyone who appreciates fine dining.
We had a nice time
We stayed next door at the Peerless Hotel, so the convenience was great. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. Food was very good. I'd go again easily if Ashland weren't so far away.
This place is full of character and ambiance. We were here to celebrate a birthday.
Ordered bread and olive oil; amazing. I believe there was garlic and hazelnut in the olive oil. That in itself was enough to call me back to this restaurant.
We enjoyed our waitress also. She explained some menu items we asked about.
Believe it or not we ordered chicken. Ugh you say- one can have chicken whenever. True. Not this dish. So tender and tasty.
I would say you are in for a treat and will not be disappointed.
I took my husband out for his birthday. I made the reservation online and got exactly the table I requested. The couple next to us were a bit loud, hence my noise level rating, but that was all them and not the restaurant. It was lovely! Very special.
We go to Peerless every year for birthday and anniversary. The people are warm and welcoming, give great service, and the Carpano Antica is fabulous! (That's a sweet but exquisite vermouth for those who need that kind of thing.)
My first time going into this restaurant. Took my date (a really good friend of mine) and we were both impressed with the quality of the food and the outstanding service.
They are friendly and polite in a vivid atmosphere. More than happy to recommend it.
It is simply a very good restaurant. It is worth the money.
Our server was sweet but we waited a very long time between courses. We were also somewhat shocked that bread was not included in our meal. Also, it was my birthday, but they don't offer a complimentary dessert (or at least one wasn't offered). Considering their prices, we thought that these things might have been included; most other fine restaurants that we go to do. However, the food itself was delicious, and the ambiance is wonderful.
It was New Year’s Eve. The staff were all wonderful. Lance was our waiter (our favorite), but several others that we have seen before, stopped by to say hello. The owner made a point of greeting us at the door and taking us to our table. Chrissy is a so very friendly and welcoming. The food was very good. Steve had the onion soup and scallops special. I enjoyed the special soup and one of my favorite dishes, the chicken breast with sticky purple rice and green beans. The special dessert was the perfect topper. Lance also had me try a sip of the wine that I was unsure of. It was very good and went well with my dinner.
We made reservations on a NYE whim.
Could not have had a better meal. Fresh, amazing flavors and wine pairing were fantastic. We brought our non adventurous teens and each one had a great dish.
Service was terrific from the friendly greeting to the wait staff who were attentive and great at explaining the menu and wine suggestions.
We’ll be back- thank you!
Good food, elegant decor, everyone we bring here loves it. Also very good service. We come here because we like the food and there are enough choices that everyone can find something they like for dinner, from steak to a hamburger, from chicken, lamb and vegetarian options. This is where we go for special events, like entertaining our friends from out of town. We have eaten here for years and the food is consistently good.
Good meal but not amazingduring an overnight stay in Ashland. Food was fresh and well prepared but a bit overpriced for what it was.
Our group of four had a lovely, delicious Xmas Eve dinner in the bar. Our server, Lance, was knowledgeable and funny, our food cooked perfectly and the ambiance was festive and fun. Thank you Peerless for a memorable holiday meal!
The service was wonderful! We had a wonderful dinner that included the special soup and salad with crab cakes and the lamb special. It is our favorite place to dine and, as usual, had a great evening!
I took two friends to Peerless Restaurant the night before Christmas Eve to celebrate their moving to Ashland a few months ago. I could not have picked a better restaurant. The food was even more extraordinary than it had been in my earlier visits, and it was a great then!
In addition to the wonderful ambience and the outstanding wait staff, I was struck by how the ingredients in all the dishes worked to create original tastes and flavors that took each dish to a new level of WOW!
I had the Roasted Cauliflower dish as an appetizer, and was thrilled with the uniqueness, richness and subtleties of the flavors. My main entree was a succulent, moist salmon from New Zealand, cooked exactly to my preference, combined with ingredients such as fresh sliced cucumbers, fingerling potatoes, and a delightful sauce that was perfection. A chocolate sorbet was the perfect completion for the evening. My guests were also thrilled by the whole Peerless experience. They loved their dinner choices and the waiter's drink and food descriptions and recommendations enhanced their experience. Thank you Peerless for creating a perfect, memorable, and celebratory evening for us!
Had a lovely time and wait staff was very good. Will look forward to coming back again.
The waitstaff were wonderful. The food was excellent. Our friends said they found a new best place!
Creative cuisine in a beautiful atmosphere. Had the Autumn menu. Will go back during other times of the year to experience the seasonal menus..........
We were on an exhausting marathon drive and needed something to revive us. I checked reviews online and found Peerless. It was a perfect place for a rainy and wintery night. I had good cassoulet with an interesting touch; they put endive (or kale...can't remember which) and apple slices on the top. Trust me, it worked. My husband had the scallops and a soup. He especially liked the soup. It was a perfect evening.
I am a resident of Ashland for 40 years. This has always been a favorite reestaurant. We favor early dining, happy hour, and small plates. Service has always been professional. I would give it 5 stars all around except for one fault: odor of cigarettes. There is no smoking inside, of course, but it is apparently tolerated amongst bar patrons who step out into the patio area. The odor follows them when they return inside. Most downtown eating establishments are within the smoking exclusion zone, but the 4th Street neighborhood falls outside, which probably makes it attractive to smokers.
We had a great anniversary dinner. Food was good and the staff were outstanding.
We had the most wonderful Thanksgiving dinner! The food was fabulous, drinks generous, staff absolutely fantastic and attentive. Thank you for making our "get away" holiday so special.
Thanksgiving dinner was overpriced, turkey overcooked, bread pudding dry.
The food was amazing. It was very memorable and hit all the notes for a delicious meal: well thought out menu, temperature was perfect, recipes are spot on for seasonality with a good sense of local food finds. The beer was a perfect temperature and the coffee served with real cream. The waitress, was pleasant..to me. She did however categorically, to the point of embarrassment ignore my elderly mother. She tilted her entire body toward me, away from mom. She smiled at me and never even once looked at my mother. She asked ME, only me if I, not we, had been to The Peerless for Thanksgiving before. I said no. Again, only looking at and tilted toward me said, "You will love it." You would literally think I was alone at the table. 'We' both noticed this very early on; before we even received our food. So we watched and noticed. The only time she spoke to or looked at my mother was to tell her how to use the handheld machine to enter in her CC information. No thank you to us, nothing. On that front I was disappointed and embarrassed as I am the one who chose the place for us to go on what could very well be our last Thanksgiving together. I would give a five star review save for the service. Our server was smartly dressed with very short hair, black skirt and burnt orange clogs. She was nice to me but ignored the person who should be treated like a queen. Price, for the restaurant and the food are good. If be back, except I can't support being treated like that.
Enjoyable evening celebrating mother's 90th birthday. Dry rub steak was a hit as well as garlic prawns and crab cakes. Good selection for all tastes.
