Pch is Austins very first absinthe bar, serving rich French cuisine and pre-Prohibition style cocktails along with a carefully curated wine list. The bartenders are always ready to answer questions and educate guests on the libations served. Pch strives to provide an atmosphere that is both mysterious and fun.
The menu at Pch is tailored to the drink menu and features snacks such as mushroom fritters and grilled octopus, as well as meals such as duck confit and butternut squash ravioli. The rib eye and the Texas wild boar are local favorites and be sure to finish your meal with an adult milkshake such as the bananas Foster.
Gratefully , Peche is New Orleans where I wanted to make the reservation honored the reservation I made at Peche in Texas.. Most delicious food, warm service , even got a celebrity sighting of stunning Nicole Kidman,
Great find. Easy walk from downtown hotels. Can't beat happy hour
Decent experience but wouldn't be back.
Charlotte was amazing! She helped us make wonderful selections for both our drinks as well as food as it was our first time there! I'm definitely coming back with my gang! Love the Mac-n-cheese and mushroom balls! And they have a great Happy hour menu!
Amazing cocktails and incredible food! Loved every minute of it!
The drinks were wonderful - as was the food! The chef stopping by the table was just icing on the cake. Well done! We will be back :)
Second time and I can't wait to go more often, excellent menu and quality.
I chose this place to celebrate my birthday with 10 other friends during HH - the prices were good and the drinks and food were great. However, our server's attitude was not what I'd hoped for and most of my guests felt the same. He was short, curt and not very friendly, even when I told him we were celebrating my birthday. I'm not sure I'll return, to be honest. Or if I do, I will try to avoid the same server and most likely sit at the bar.
Three friends having girls reunion. Had an excellent meal. Ordered the blackened shrimp salad which was very good. Girl friend had the mac and cheese, so rich. Other had the pappardelle and it was good too. Only disappointment were the macarons served with the creme brulee. They weren't very good but the creme brulee was fantastic. Loved the decor and received great service.
The cocktails were very impressive and the happy hour prices were awesome.
This is the first bad review that I have given. With reservations and an empty room, they tried to give us a table that practically got hit every time the door opened. It took at least 20 minutes to get our drinks after we ordered and they were out of the scotch I wanted but it took another 30 minutes for me to get a different scotch. Three of us ordered burgers and asked that our fries be served first rather than with the burger. The waiter simply said, "we don't do that" but it was never a problem before. The burgers were dry and overlooked and the rest of the food was mediocre. We won't be back.
Good Food coupled with innovative cocktails. Impressive Bourbon collection. Impeccable service.
We were lucky enough to get Charlie again - he's awesome! Very fun staff & atmosphere is posh without feeling stiff or stuck up.
Don't arrive with a cocktail in mind, the owner will likely come to you and ask about your day, personality, or life and select a drink on your behalf. It's always delightful.
Waitress was very rude and didn't care that it was my daughters 21st birthday. We went there to celebrate and she didn't say happy birthday until the very end when she dropped the check. We at least thought we may get a candle on one of the two desserts that we ordered. Would not recommend for a celebration of any sort.
Absinthe! Yeah, they have quite a few different brands, to say the least! Food was great too!
Mediocre for the money. However, the lamb was good, the dusk breast tasty, but small. The short ribs were dry, and were mentioned, but no reply from the server. Unfortunately, this is not a venue we will return to for French food.
Drinks were great... food is "meh"
On a scale from 1-10 rating is a 100+++.
Great Mussels, wine, drinks, food, service.
Absolutely LOVE Peche! The food is out of this world, and the drinks are some of the best in Austin. The prices are perfect for the quality and portion. Wait staff is extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend making reservations on the weekend. This place gets packed quickly.
This is a very cute restaurant with a great drink menu. My lamb was supposed to be medium rare but came out medium well, was very dry and a lot of fat. Drinks and service were great. This was my second time eating here but will most likely not return seeing as Austin has so many other great restaurants.
The management and waitstaff made us feel like we were famous. We're just a middle aged couple escaping parenthood for an evening, and the way we were treated made us feel like we were young again. We had so much fun. We had a movie to catch nearby and we knew that by booking a table at Peche, our service would be prompt and the food would blow us away. This time it was just a snack and a dessert, but even when we've done a three- or four-course affair in the past, our expectations were equally exceeded.
This is the 2nd time we've booked Peche on Opentable, and probably the 10th or so time we've dined here. It's consistently awesome. This is where we take people who've never been to Austin before, when we want to wow them, and it never disappoints.
Great menu. But, our entrees were not properly executed. Way too salty to the point of not being able to finish the meal. Interestingly, our appetizer, escargot, was way underseasoned. Menu choices looked wonderful, but they are having execution issues in the kitchen. Caesar salad was the best part, in that the dressing was delicious and seasoning was well balanced. Bill was a total of $140 for two people, and I really didn't feel like my meal was worth that amount of money. Happy to pay that amount if the food is well executed, but this wasn't.
I can't get enough of this restaurant!! Love the food. I had the escolar special and I would of kicked the plate if I could have. So fresh and cooked perfectly! The chicken is wonderful as well. The mussels and pomme frites to die for.
If you are looking for a fun up beat restaurant with fantastic food and drinks. This is the place!
We were on vacation in Austin and my BF loves French Cuisine. So glad we found Peche. Definitely one of our top favorite meals of all time, and that's saying a lot. (We tend to go out quite often). The service from Charlie was phenomenal and the cocktails were amazing. That's actually not a good enough word, but you get my point. The atmosphere was great and that bar is gorgeous. Thanks Peche for ringing out the end of our vacation in style!
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Peche. Ordered: Pot au Feu, escargot, wild boar with pappardelle and the short ribs (among several interesting and foo foo filled cocktails). The food and drinks were amazing, the service was typically Austin-style weird and nonchalant. The bill was so much! BUT this place would be great for a special occasion in a small group or date night. *Not good for kids or anyone hard of hearing, so loud and very adult.*
And it was awesome. Our server was great. She never forgot an order, put a candle in the delicious Lavender Creme Brulee for me (because it was my birthday), and was generally hilarious and pleasant. The drinks always taste good, and were strong. And they were playing some awesome music from Motown and Parliament all night. We all had a great time.
We came to Peche on the first night of a girl's trip to Austin and had a great experience! Our server was friendly and attentive; the drinks (especially green chili vodka) were creative; and the food was awesome. We especially enjoyed the deviled eggs!
Our server, Avalon, was outstanding. She was very personable and her recommendations were honest. The craft cocktails were AMAZING and so was the food. The Happy Hour made it very affordable for the high quality. A good place for foodies. The food is thoughtful and very high quality without being too self-conscious.
Not the most romantic spot for a "French bistro." Very over priced entrees that were simply mediocre. The only point in dining here is to imbibe on absinthe and whiskey.
We had to wait a long time for cocktails, and I had to ask for the wine list 3 times!
Once you've had your fill of BBQ and crave something more refined yet adventurous, Péché (along with its sister, Isla) is the place to go.
We LOVED our dining experience at peche! From a call confirmation of our reservation, great wait staff, great date-night setting with a speakeasy vibe, incredible food (we got the duck and short rib and it was divine!!), fantastic mixed drinks (fig Manhattan and The Final Say), the only bummer was we didn't have room for dessert. We will absolutely be back and for more drinks and dessert! We've already told several friends! Great job peche! See you again soon!
Short but well thought out menu. We both enjoyed our meals, just the right amount of savory food. Desert was enough for two to share. The staff has a great attitude and super friendly. A spot I will return to when in Austin.
They really know their stuff and can offer helpful recommendations for those who need help deciding what to drink.
Charlie was great - kept us well served and laughing throughout our meal.
I have been multiple times and can honestly say I've never eaten anything here that wasn't delicious. This visit, I enjoyed the croque madame. On Mondays, they have happy hour specials until close - I recommend giving it a try!
Good drinks, so-so food.. Chicken and Steak Tartare were good.. Cheese plate and Quail not good..
Peche was noisy in a fun way, and had some sophisticated dishes for such a casual-looking establishment. The appetizers were great (deviled eggs, fried mushroom croquettes, and cheese board were highlights) with the bone marrow being the only disappointment (half empty or hollow bones, no toast for spreading and a lack of good condiments for contrast). The entrees were mostly great- the seafood stew was a bounty of well-cooked shellfish and fish, the pan roasted chicken was crispy and juicy (but a bit boring for the high praise it garnered from our hostess) and the pasta was fantastic. Cocktail game was also strong, with well-priced beers for those who wanted something less potent. Great find for an 8 person dinner.
Wonderful restaurant. Really enjoyed the food and service. The Bones and Frittes were spectacular.
My wife and I were celebrating our 1st
Year in Austin - relocating from LA.
-----we found Pesche totally by accident.
But it was always right there in front of us and we never knew. I can tell you these guys
Have their game on!
The bar scene reminded me of Paris , New Orleans and NYC in its glory days.
Crafted cocktails all with top shelf brands.
The Sazerac was particularly excellent.
The appetizer was the best Muscles I've had. Prepared in a coconut and habanero brodo that had just the right balance and the PEI 's were perfect.
Entrees were pan seared tile fish and cod.
Both were exceptional. The cod was a standout. All paired with a 2012 Sancerre.
Finally dessert was a lavender vanilla creme brûlée accompanied by whiskey flavored cookies. What a wonderfully way to close out a unique evening.
