Great place! Excellent food and service. The dining is really noisy though...made it difficult to have a conversation. Despite this small detail, I'll be back.
Warm, cozy ambience in a somewhat not large space. excellent service. tasty food but portions were somewhat small and slightly pricey .chicken liver dish was excellent !
Literally wish I could eat hear 3x a week. Since they’re closing soon I might just have to make time ! Love Peasant
Incredible evening! Food was on point and the wait staff were perfectly attentive and knowledgeable. Decided to have a night cap in the basement winebar and it was delightful. Such a cosy spot on a fall evening! Highly recommend.
Stand out food, wine and staff. Peasant is a true gem!
Wine list needs more options in $50 range. Server was very accommodating.
Awesome as always!!!
The portions are really small, which does not coincide with the prices that are very expensive. Even though the food is not excellent, we could have had a good time in this nice-looking restaurant, but the service ruined any hope of a good evening. Our unpleasant and pressing waiter almost shouted at us when we told him it was not so great...
CONCLUSION : Don't go there. I don't recommand this restaurant. RUN AWAY!!!
Tripp’s was outstanding
The food was wonderful and the whole experience was really great; I look froward to going back to Peasant very soon. Everyone was so nice!
Hands down the best dining experience I’ve had in NYC and already can’t wait to go back for a special occasion.
We had a birthday dinner for my wife. Food, service and ambience were all excellent!
Amazing food, atmosphere and experience. Highly recommended.
Some of the best food in NYC, full stop. Authentic dishes and cuisine with a wonderful rotation each season and some amazing staples. It never disappoints and is always a great choice to make any night out really special. Also one of my favorite places to dine at the bar with a nice glass of wine for a more casual, "treat yourself" kind of night. I'd recommend certain items (suckling pig, anything from the wood-fired oven, pasta...) but it's too hard to pick a favorite -- you really can't go wrong! And if all else fails, take some friends and share!
Excellent food, service, and ambiance, as usual. One of our go-to restaurants and we live all the way up town.
One of the best spots in the city! We go here every time we travel to NYC.
We celebrated my 50th Birthday here at Peasant.
This is our second time here.
Great wine selection, prosciutto and fig app, suckling pig main (wife had gnocchi). Perfectly prepared and served meal.
Amazing food in a great atmosphere. The pasta is incredible.
Deafening noise level--my major complaint. I suppose dining very early or very late would overcome this situation--but who wants to do that?
Great food, better wine. Fantastic service. Good ambiance with medium high energy. Razor clams stole the show
As always, the food and service were terrific. A lovely room.
great food. hard chairs
The most amazing place! The food is incredible and the service was amazing! You will love this restaurant!
Loved the wood burning ovens. Food was good and the waitress we had was great. Ally was her name I think. To bad that it’s closing. We definitely would have enjoyed bigger pieces of pork. It was delicious . Wishing the owner a good retirement in Italy .
I always love Peasant and especially appreciate the wonderful food and servers
Love everything, food, service, ambiance
Always a must for us when in NY. great rustic Italian , Razor clams whole grill fish and Uni pasta ,my favorit.
I can’t believe this place is closing! It’s one of the greatest of the great. Food, service, vibe... you can tell they give a sh*t. It’s incredible. I’ll be going back as often as I can before the end.
This is our second visit and BOTH experiences were excellent. The food was phenomenal as was the service. We’ll be sure to dine again on our next return to the city!
Overall, the dining experience at Peasant was not enjoyable. It was a very hot night out, they had their AC on low - which was understandable. They could have at acknowledged it, the wait staff could have been slightly pleasant. Took the food long to come out, the restaurant was not busy. Just not an enjoyable evening out with my friends at what came as a highly recommended restaurant. Will not be going back or recommending to others to visit bc of the service and wait staff.
Food Devine, service superb, noise ( Friday night) and heat ( heat wave so not their fault but a few more fans would have helped) led to lower ambiance rating.
Quality food and service. Octopus appetizer was delicious. Great treatment with the whole fish.
AC barely worked, so super hot.
Slow, hard to find, waitress
Peasant has always been a solid dining choice with amazing food, ambiance and great and friendly service! It’s highly underrated and often overlooked. I can equally say the same for their sister restaurant, Bacaro. Both are two of my favorite restaurants with over a decade of living in NY.
Services were really good. Quickly prepared plates for our shared dishes. Steak Fiorentina, sea Urin Pasta, and dessert were all good.
The food and drinks were delicious, you can taste the efforts and quality.
The place is nice but the high noise is very unpleasant. The service and the food are average; it may need attention
Second time, as good as the first. Lovely room, attendant service, and great food. Sardine appetizer and lamb chops entree were outstanding choices.
Love this restaurant. One of our favorites and it never disappoints. Beautiful layout, kitchen, and food.
Everything was great!
