Like the last time we dined - the service was excellent. Such a friendly waitress. I wish we got her name so I could personally thank her. She made the experience so enjoyable.
We had my brother and his partner visiting from out of town. The food, service, ambience, etc. we’re absolutely excellent.
Extra care like paper menus and well spaced seating for the virus indicate that they are supporting social distancing and extra care.
We had a lovely time, very tasty Manitoba food and amazing service!
Peasant is one of my personal favourites in Winnipeg! Always a homely feeling and the food is comfort and always delicious. I’d definitely recommend attending on Wednesday for buck a shuck oyster night! Be warned though, there is normally a wait so make a reservation.
This is my favourite restaurant as of Wednesday. I had the charcuterie, my wife had the steak. I got the chef to give me a side of cheese, chefs choice. Fantastic. I will not review the food, you have to go there and eat. You will NOT be disappointed.
Been many times and LOVE Oyster Wednesdays. Manager frequently looked at his watch while we were at the table finishing coffee and after bill was paid. Not cool.
Enjoyed the new menu choices. I don't eat meat. The pickerel on the lentil base with Brussels sprouts was outstanding. My partner had the tourtière as he most always does and loves it. Wine selection is very good. Our service was so well-timed, friendly and not interrupting our quiet times..very thoughtful and all appreciated.
We had a wonderful experience with little noise and great service and the braised pork was the best I’ve ever eaten.
Visited restaurant several times before. Menu changed from last visits. Did not enjoy vegetarian dish (Three Bean Cassoulet). Strange mix of ingedients overcooked and not well seasoned. Half Chicken Linguine was warm, not hot. Pasta was overcooked. Seasoning left much to be desired. Topping on Creme broulee desert was burned and desert was ice cold! Decaf coffee was served freshly brewed at sitting but never refilled. Same for water glasses. Restaurant was not overly busy!
It was a fantastic dining experience. I'll visit the place soon.
The ambiance is fantastic, as was the service. The food left something to be desired. My meal (the tortiere) was pretty good, but the lamb, pork belly, and whatever the last item was were all a bit disappointing.
Very good. Portions are quite large. I do not believe that we have have a bad meal anytime we have come here. Good variety of menu items to choose from. We will continue to come to The Peasant. Thanks.
Our server was excellent, we had a show to go to and he had us out in time. I haven’t been there in awhile, loved the changes in the menu.
We love PC. We have been there many times. On this occasion we were celebrating a birthday of an elderly family member. We arrived at 5:30.
Our food came to the table at 6:48 pm.
We had to rush to eat to make a concert at 7. Not ideal. The servers apologized over and over. The kitchen was overwhelmed, apparently. Many guests in the same boat with theatre to get to.
It is unfortunate, and we certainly won’t give a bad review, and we were grateful for the 20% discount ( which we gave back in gratuity)
Certainly our most disappointing visit at PC for aure
The food is amazing! There were many interesting choices. The staff is extremely friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Food was pretty pricey but good. Loved the ambience. Great location as well for attending Concert Hall.
Great food, drink and attentive service, all at a great price for extremely high value. Love this place.
Perfect place to wow someone. Delicious and Prairie based menu fare, terrific service, the heart of the city and a great space.
Very kind server and great experience
We had an awesome time at the Peasant, the apps, (Cheese) the soup/salad and the entrees were excellent. Our server was pleasant and did an excellent job keeping us happy and fed.
Both the food and service were excellent, For my personal preference I think there should be more separation between the tables.
Service was quite slow. Food was very good. It was quite noisy as well.
Food was unique and tasty. Oysters were mostly good but they replaced the ones that were not. Wine selection was great and even the wine by the glass was exceptional. Definitely going back.
If you've never been but wondered what it is like you should go and taste for yourself! Delicious, warm, inviting, a great evening out.
This was our first time but it will not be our last.
Food was mostly bland little taste. Gnocchi was soft and nice but sauce was lacking flavor. Gf Pickarel was lacking taste but came hot. Starter popcorn lamb was soft but mayonnaise sauce had no taste. Overall lacking flavour.
We always love eating here. You can always count on quality food and drinks.
The atmosphere/ambience and food are amazing. Excellent service.
This was our first visit to Peasant Cookery - and we immediately decided that we'd be back! I had ordered the lamb and my husband had ordered the beef. Both selections were amazing and the serving size was so large! My lamb fed me dinner and 2 lunches!
When we arrived our table was ready, complete with the bouquet of flowers that I had delivered earlier. The host was courteous and the server was was, talkative and attentive and catered to our needs for an extremely enjoyable evening.
We had a great time for Valentine’s Day. The oysters were amazing (added a little tequila for flavour), Salmon was cool led perfectly, and the tenderloin melted cheese m my mouth!
Wonderful service with local foods prepared with love
This was our first time at Peasant Cookery. For the most part the experience was good. Our waitress was friendly and helpful as she shared what her favourites were on the menu. Our reservation was on time. We had arrived a bit early so we sat in the lounge. I found the waiter there to be unfriendly, cold and didn’t listen to our order very well (I asked for a double and got a single). It took far too long to get our drink order and were never offered to see the appetizer menu. Also, I had put on our reservation that we were there for our Anniversary. We got seated at the front entrance which was quite busy. A quiet corner would have been preferable. In saying that we enjoyed our experience and we will be back again to try another creation off the menu.
Nice choice of local foods. Pricing for wine by the glass is quite steep from 6oz to 9oz. Lovely homemade bread. Beautiful presentation.
It was our first time at Peasant Cookery and we pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and our server Jackie was such a gem and so professional. We will definitely return and share our experience with our friends.
Lovely experience at Peasant Cookery. Our server was friendly and polite. We shared a few appetizers and a salad and everything was delicious.
Delicious, unique menu options. Our server was really knowledgeable of the menu and really pleasant. We had a great experience
I love Oyster Wednesday and the beet salad. It’s the best.
Never been before, but I loved the decor and the fast service.
Very good food at a good price. Will recommend to friends and co workers
