Pearl's Saltwater Grille Ratings and Reviews
This was my first experience at Pearl’s Salt Water Grill and we will definitely come back. Loved the setting on the water and the food was top notch. We happen to arrive early and in time for the “early bird” special. We enjoyed an appetizer, our main entree, dessert and a glass of wine all for a very reasonable price. Will certainly add Pearl’s as one of our “go to” restaurants.
They took reservations for 8 people. Pros spacious, seated quickly, large variety of seafood. Pecan crusted hush puppies, grouper & orzo veggie side delicious!
Cons loud, ran out of crab cakes early in the evening, she crab soup not much taste, food temperature warm not hot.
Overall pretty good.
The appetizer of calamari was poor a flavorless. The grouper however was very good. The service was average we had to ask for refills multiple times. The lighting in the restaurant was terrible. It was so poorly lit we had to use the flashlight on our phones in order to read the menus.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Savannah. We were there for New Years Eve and what a pleasure to go to someplace that did not have a over priced pre-fix menu. Our server was completely delightful. The place was not overly crowded, and yet it was busy. It is not that easy to find so it is not over run by tourist. If you have never been here I highly recommend you try it at least once.
I made my reservation online at open table for five people. When I got my email confirmation the reservation was only for two people. I called the restaurant in a panic and spoke to Michael. He said that there was not a table for five people and that he is booked. He said he would change my reservation, but we would have to wait when we got there for a table. Well, we got there and the restaurant appeared to be wide open with plenty of seating. Not sure why Michael sent us into panic mode, I didn't feel that was necessary. Otherwise, everything was good.
Nice ambiance but mediocre food. I had steak that was thin with little flavor. My husband had the honey fried chicken which ended up being overcooked breaded chicken breasts drizzled with honey. Our waitress was great though. We'd go back but not order those dishes.
Saltwater Grille is a must stop for our trips to Savannah. Excellent food and great service. Love the menu and the view. Dining room was a little chilly for this late December trip, so we rated the ambiance down one star. Otherwise it's top notch all the way. Recommended.
We dine at Pearl's often because usually the food is excellent, the ambience is usually very good.
We were very disappointed because this time the food was not good. There was no grouper at all. How does a seafood restaurant not have grouper on a heavy dine out evening? We settled for swordfish. Big Mistake. It was dry and tasted freezer burned. The asparagus was so salty I could not eat it. The crab stew tasted muddy and was not hot. I could not finish mine. The server forgot to bring us hush puppies. It was not a good experience at all. It will be a while before we return.
We were visiting Savannah on Christmas Eve and we were looking for a nice place to get the family togeather. Pearl’s Saltwater grill was the perfect choice. The seafood was fantastic. Everyone had something different, and we all enjoyed what we ordered. The atmosphere was lively but not so loud that we couldn’t talk easily. I will definitely return next time I am in town.
All of the items we ordered (3 dinners and an appetizer) were very very salty. The service was good and she was very friendly. It was a little noisy given there were many families with small children as it was Christmas eve. We will not return there as the food left a lot to be desired.
My father's favorite food is fried shrimp. He's declared that the ones he had here are the best of his life. My mother is similarly picky about fried oysters and she said these were first rate. Lastly, I love swordfish but find it's over cooked when grilled at most places. However, this steak was cooked to perfection and not overly sauced. The grits under it were to die for and the fries are crispy, salted, and fluffy inside. We had an amazing booth table by the waterfront and the wine list was excellent. Our server was so helpful and knowledgeable about everything and we could take our time enjoying the lovely ambiance. We're already planning our trip back and will ensure every time we go to Savannah that Pearle's is on our dinner list!
The food and service never disappoints, and the view can't be beat. My mom is an amputee, and the wheelchair lift makes the experience of getting in and out so easy. The extra consideration toward accessibility is just icing on the cake for our family.
My parents split the fried green tomato salad and lobster Rockefeller, both of which arrived plated individually and were presented beautifully. My parents raved about how delicious their meals were. The dry dock linguine with shrimp was also delicious and indulgent. Toni, our server, took excellent and attentive care of us. Thanks for making our family dinner special.
