Enjoy a comprehensive wine list from boutique wineries to large labels and fabulous signature cocktails from the bar to compliment your dining experience.
I fell off my chair (my fault!) and the manager brought a glass of rose to soothe my wounded pride....
Went for late brunch - was pleased that they served until 4pm. Everyone was friendly and prompt. The food was delicious and everyone’s was delivered at the same time and hot. They have great fresh juices and smoothies. And their cocktails were awesome too. Will be going back. Often.
Wonderful restaurant for lunch with friends. Great food at a reasonable price, lovely ambience. The owner greets guests and makes sure everyone is well taken care of. My only tiny complaint is that the food took a while coming out of the kitchen so I am glad we were not in a rush. Varied menu with many healthy options. Would definitely recommend.
It’s a wonderful place-lovely. Great location in awesome Georgetown. This place is a favorite now!
Perfect brunch place. Owners are wonderful. Food is delicious!
Service was very friendly and ambience was good but food was really kind of tasteless. Scrambled eggs were dry and tasteless. Salad veggies looked tired. Maybe try using better ingredients.
Great food & drinks! The crab cake was our favorite! Beautiful atmosphere & friendly service!
This was our second visit to Peacock cafe. Went for my wife's birthday and it was wonderful. The food was delicious; the crab & pesto risotto is amazing, and my wife's filet mignon was perfectly cooked. Service was attentive. We went on a Wednesday night, and the restaurant was active but not packed, which was nice.
We love this place!
This was my 3rd time and every visit only gets better!!!! Recommend by a friend in Berlin ...
On a very rainy evening, my husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner with excellent service at Peacock Cafe. This was our second visit - the first more than 5 years ago, and we were just as pleased to have made this our choice for dining while in Georgetown. From our table location by the front window, the attentive service of Theodore and staff, the dinners of crab cakes and salmon, margaritas and wine, and the dessert of warm pecan tart with cinnamon ice cream, our experience was outstanding. We highly recommend Peacock Cafe and look forward to another visit when we are visiting DC.
We had a great experience here! Located on side street in Georgetown, the restaurant offered patio seating which was perfect for a summer Friday night. My daughter, a vegetarian, found plenty of options. My son, a celiac, also had plenty of options. My husband and I love seafood and we shared two dishes that were both excellent. Flourless chocolate cake for dessert for my celiac son was the “icing on the cake”. Quality of food was excellent, service was excellent, and variety of options was awesome for seafood lovers, gluten free, vegetarian. I would highly recommend this lovely restaurant. Prices were not outrageous....you will not have to pay $40 for an entree which is simply offensive. We will return.
You them! Never a bad experience!
We decided to go on 4th of July, unfortunately the air conditioning was out in a good portion of the restaurant and they still decided to remain open and not inform reservation holders. We ordered both our appetizer and entree at the same time. We were only halfway through our appetizers when our entrees arrived, the hostess who was serving our meal took our half eaten appetizers from in front of us and placed our entrees in front of us, picked up our bread plates and walked away. My mother was still holding her piece of bread in her hand. When I explained to the waiter (which oh by the way should have been serving the plates in the 1st place not the hostess) that they had taken away our appetizers half eaten, he said oh sorry. No offer to comp the appetizers off our bill, No offer even for a free dessert or free glass of wine for the terrible service. I understand if you need to have a hostess run food because you're incredibly busy but there were 3 tables in the whole restaurant. We should have had outstanding service, plenty of time to eat our appetizers before the entrees come and should have at least had the appetizers removed from our bill. I have to say the food is very good what we got to finish of it. And the decor and ambiance I am sure is much better with air conditioning but we probably won't be back.
This place was pretty good. The food selection was great and it was tasty as well. The service was ok but nothing special. The location and ambiance were delightful and a nice way to spend the afternoon. I enjoyed myself here and I would recommend to a friend.
Nice ambiance and great food!
The lobster salad is outstanding!
Service and food were excellent. My kids give it a thumbs up for food, wiki stix, and other crayons/activity placemat. Staff very friendly. Thank you for a wonderful experience
Over priced for the quality of service & food. An ordinary club sandwich, singular crab cake & dessert ran $50 for lunch! Riding on reputation as a place to be seen, as waitress was a bit spacey (had to double check on order placed) and no attention to detail (my guest requested water with no ice and this was forgotten every time glass refilled)! Guess place didn’t meet my expectations & not special for joint birthday celebration. Given competition of eateries, this place has created a nitch for itself, but it’s not backed up by service or high quality of food.
Everything about our breakfast was great! The food was delicious, our server was very friendly and the manager and chef came to our table to see if everything was ok.
The gazpacho was very good. the Tuna in the nicoise was pretty good, except that the tuna was overcooked. the waiter was attentive and helpful.
Love their salmon entree and can always count on a good meal; good service and friendly staff.
Great creative food. Good choices for person with gluten and dairy allergies.
We hadn’t been to Peacock in years and thought it would be a fun place to celebrate Fathers Day Brunch as it had always been a great spot to gather with friends for brunch or a date night. Sadly, our high expectations and memories of this spot are not what it once was.
The menus are old and sticky/dirty, the service was very poor- three of us had to start drinking my toddlers water because we couldn’t get service to refill our waters much less see a server to check on us. Would they have been more attentive if we’d had adult beverages? Maybe. The food was ok but definitely not the quality it used to be and the eggs tasted chemically. This once prized spot will be marked off our list. I’m not sure how this was put on some of the lists of best places for brunch/breakfast in DC.
Wonderful food, spectacular service, lovely atmosphere. I absolutely love this Georgetown treasure.
Absolutely love this restaurant! Went there with my wife for Sunday brunch. The staff is polite, attentive, and always goes out of the way to make you welcome. The food is delicious and they have some amazing unique dishes like smoked salmon one lets and some delicious smoothies. Ambiance is friendly, modern, Eurpean with indoor and outdoor seating on a quiet side street. We will be back to this gem of a restaurant!
We love this place. Fresh, interesting food. Wonderful service and warm atmosphere. Lots of light. Get away from the tourist traps of Georgetown and come to where locals dine. We come about once a month for lunch. Close to georgetown university.
My wife and I dined at Peacock Cafe on Monday night and had a fantastic meal. The Arugula salad was one of the best salads I've ever had; the cheese was worthy of a charcuterie plate at another fine restaurant. We ordered a Bordeaux bottle (30% off on Mondays and Tuesdays) and, at the end of our meal, had 1/3 of a bottle remaining. We left without it. Oops.
On Wednesday we went into the restaurant next door, Cafe Milano, and had a difficult time getting served so we went back to Peacock. I mentioned to the manager who sat us that we had inadvertently left our bottle of wine there Monday. He came back in 5 minutes with our bottle that they had saved for us, just in case we came back.
We love this place.
I stopped short of a stellar review for one reason, bar drinks. We were a party of 8 and everyone was very pleased with the quality and taste of his/her meal and the excellent service. Five out eight ordered cocktails and were all disappointed. They were weak, didn’t taste as they should, and a bit short. The manager was professional, attentive, thanked us for our polite feedback and brought us two replacements. Unfortunately they were of the same quality. We didn’t really want more to drink as all of us would have been happier with one, well executed cocktail, but he attempted to satisfy us and we appreciated the effort.
Again, the food and service were great. If they can correct their shortcomings at the bar future reviews will be outstanding.
Really nice brunch menu with convenient and inexpensive parking right next door. We had a yummy and relaxing brunch!
Great food and service
I love this restaurant for meeting friends for lunch. I wouldn't suggest eating outside right now as there is major construction across the street so it was loud. The food is good and the service very prompt and courteous.
The food was great and the service was also excellent.
Had an excellent brunch at Peacock Cafe. Food was delicious and the service was first rate. We weren't in a hurry so lingered over coffee and never felt we were being rushed even though they were very busy.
The sushi quality and combinations exceeded expectations.
the pistachio soup is outstanding! There were several entrees that looked good, it was hard to choose. everything was flavorful. We've eaten here before - dependable and satisfying. They have outdoor seating when the weather allows.
Food was good and the service great. The pancakes were awesome. They had good vegetarian and gluten free options for my family, but also enough meat options for those who ate meat. The freshly made juices were great. I wish we could have sat out back on the patio, but it was raining. I appreciated that it was nice environment that was also welcoming to kids (we had one toddler in our group). The only odd thing was the music was a little clubby for brunch.
It's always so good.
I had a friend visiting from Chicago, so she, a local friend and I went to the Peacock Café for dinner. I chose it because I enjoyed the Café when I attended a farewell luncheon there in June. The Café has an open, airy feel to it. As an appetizer, we shared lightly fried calamari served with a spicy tomato sauce and a ginger-lime aioli sauce. My local friend and I then had the Seafood Jambalaya: shrimp, salmon, cod, muscles & basmati rice. It was delicious! For her entrée, my Chicago friend had an Ahi Tuna Salad: almost tuna tartar in arugula & endive with sesame-lemon dressing. We finished by sharing two desserts: a generous slice of rich cheesecake and a brandy caramel tart á la mode. We all had a great time.
