Enjoy a comprehensive wine list from boutique wineries to large labels and fabulous signature cocktails from the bar to compliment your dining experience.
Wonderful food, great ambiance. Very reasonably priced. Right in the heart of Georgetown. What else can one ask for?
Great service, and the chocolate volcano dessert was delicious. The 3 course meal is a good value, but the salads were just OK and 3 people got the jambalaya and were not happy with their choice. Easy pay parking is close by. The place is a bit on the loud side, so conversation was harder, but we had the table for the evening and were never pressured to leave, which I appreciate.
Enjoyed sitting outside with an easy and comfortable vibe. Great lunch menu-and the food was delicious. Smoothies amazing too. They got one of our meals incorrect, but were quick to fix it. Nice to be in Georgetown but not feel too hectic. We'll be back!
As always, a meal at the Peacock Café is a fine event. Excellent food, diverse menu, profession AND courteous service, and a very fine venue for business conversation!
The best food and absolute best service in DC!
We went to the Peacock Cafe before the opera. I had the
Always reliable consistent friendly delicious. Great start to your day, especially if you sit outside. High quality staff.
Excellent as always. A DC icon!
Birthday brunch, great experience
We were really disappointed. I picked this place, based on the ratings, to host my boss and his wife who were in town for a long weekend. To be fair, the place had two or three large parties of college students that made it impossible to hear. That said, the food was bland and overpriced. The best dish we had was the hummus and olives and it went downhill from there. My lamb stew was over $30 and was no more than a 1/2 cup and had no flavor to speak of.. My wife's fish was bland and had 2 fingerling potatoes for $35. My boss's ravioli looked like it came from frozen food section at the grocery store and the sauce might have been Prego. The wine list and even the beer selection were limited. The decor seemed shabby and cheap. The staff was fine but was not particularly attentive.
We won't be back.
One of my favorite restaurant!!! everyone here treats you life family and the food is amazing. Also the pricing is reasonable, you pay for what you want.
We went to dinner for my son’s birthday. The salmon was very good. My wife had the Rainbow Trout special and thought it was ok, but wished she had chosen the bronzini or the salmon. My son liked his steak salad, but it wasn’t enough steak for him. I also ordered a side salad, but it never came and I forgot about it. They didn’t charge me for it. They brought a hummus appetizer in which we were able to substitute cucumbers for chips which was nice. My wife only drinks New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc wine and ordered KOAH. It had a nice aroma, but no taste for some reason. We all tried it and thought the same thing so she sent it back. The waitress was reasonably attentive, but just Ok as a waitress. I saw other waitresses there who seemed better. Overall, I would say it was a solid B as a restaurant.
Peacock Cafe has been one of my favorite restaurants for over two decades. Saturday/Sunday brunch is my favorite, but it's great anytime. The food is fantastic (and everyone can find something they love--the menu's diverse), staff is great, and the locations perfect (right in the middle of Georgetown, off a side street).
Perfect for a date, casual brunch with friends, family reunion, or special party...this restaurant is fantastic!
We had an early reservation and service was attentive but not intrusive. The food was yummy - we had calamari, and grouper and what the restaurant called seafood jambalaya. We enjoyed it all. The pistachio ice cream was excellent. I wasn't impressed with my mojito but the wine with dinner was fine.
As always, Peacock Cafe never fails! This was a business meeting with an out-of-town colleague who was SO impressed with the food that she is trying to figure how soon she can come back to DC for another meal!!
Service by waitress was slow. She was slow to take order and slow with beverage refill. Food was good though.
The food was very enjoyable. Perfect location. Service was good but a bit slow.
Took 45 min to have a waiter take our order and then got it wrong ! Drink order was wrong
Way understaffed for a sat night
Cared more about the big dog that was visiting
He got his water!
Yummy. The multigrain pancakes were delicious. Hot and yummy
Meh. The food was just average. I had cerviche, salad, and a white fish.
Great food! Great people! This place was amazing
Although the service was slow, the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about gluten free options. The location is in the bustling area of Georgetown without being on the main drag so you do not have accessible traffic noise. As with most place in the city, drinks are WAY overpriced but the cost of the meals was reasonable.
Everything we had was delicious. The service was exceptional. We will be back the next time we are in town!
Went there for dinner and had exceptional service and great food. The nicest thing was that the noise level was quiet to moderate so we could hold a conversation without yelling.
I fell off my chair (my fault!) and the manager brought a glass of rose to soothe my wounded pride....
Went for late brunch - was pleased that they served until 4pm. Everyone was friendly and prompt. The food was delicious and everyone’s was delivered at the same time and hot. They have great fresh juices and smoothies. And their cocktails were awesome too. Will be going back. Often.
Wonderful restaurant for lunch with friends. Great food at a reasonable price, lovely ambience. The owner greets guests and makes sure everyone is well taken care of. My only tiny complaint is that the food took a while coming out of the kitchen so I am glad we were not in a rush. Varied menu with many healthy options. Would definitely recommend.
It’s a wonderful place-lovely. Great location in awesome Georgetown. This place is a favorite now!
Perfect brunch place. Owners are wonderful. Food is delicious!
Service was very friendly and ambience was good but food was really kind of tasteless. Scrambled eggs were dry and tasteless. Salad veggies looked tired. Maybe try using better ingredients.
Great food & drinks! The crab cake was our favorite! Beautiful atmosphere & friendly service!
This was our second visit to Peacock cafe. Went for my wife's birthday and it was wonderful. The food was delicious; the crab & pesto risotto is amazing, and my wife's filet mignon was perfectly cooked. Service was attentive. We went on a Wednesday night, and the restaurant was active but not packed, which was nice.
We love this place!
This was my 3rd time and every visit only gets better!!!! Recommend by a friend in Berlin ...
On a very rainy evening, my husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner with excellent service at Peacock Cafe. This was our second visit - the first more than 5 years ago, and we were just as pleased to have made this our choice for dining while in Georgetown. From our table location by the front window, the attentive service of Theodore and staff, the dinners of crab cakes and salmon, margaritas and wine, and the dessert of warm pecan tart with cinnamon ice cream, our experience was outstanding. We highly recommend Peacock Cafe and look forward to another visit when we are visiting DC.
We had a great experience here! Located on side street in Georgetown, the restaurant offered patio seating which was perfect for a summer Friday night. My daughter, a vegetarian, found plenty of options. My son, a celiac, also had plenty of options. My husband and I love seafood and we shared two dishes that were both excellent. Flourless chocolate cake for dessert for my celiac son was the “icing on the cake”. Quality of food was excellent, service was excellent, and variety of options was awesome for seafood lovers, gluten free, vegetarian. I would highly recommend this lovely restaurant. Prices were not outrageous....you will not have to pay $40 for an entree which is simply offensive. We will return.
You them! Never a bad experience!
We decided to go on 4th of July, unfortunately the air conditioning was out in a good portion of the restaurant and they still decided to remain open and not inform reservation holders. We ordered both our appetizer and entree at the same time. We were only halfway through our appetizers when our entrees arrived, the hostess who was serving our meal took our half eaten appetizers from in front of us and placed our entrees in front of us, picked up our bread plates and walked away. My mother was still holding her piece of bread in her hand. When I explained to the waiter (which oh by the way should have been serving the plates in the 1st place not the hostess) that they had taken away our appetizers half eaten, he said oh sorry. No offer to comp the appetizers off our bill, No offer even for a free dessert or free glass of wine for the terrible service. I understand if you need to have a hostess run food because you're incredibly busy but there were 3 tables in the whole restaurant. We should have had outstanding service, plenty of time to eat our appetizers before the entrees come and should have at least had the appetizers removed from our bill. I have to say the food is very good what we got to finish of it. And the decor and ambiance I am sure is much better with air conditioning but we probably won't be back.
This place was pretty good. The food selection was great and it was tasty as well. The service was ok but nothing special. The location and ambiance were delightful and a nice way to spend the afternoon. I enjoyed myself here and I would recommend to a friend.
