Everything was “good enough”, but I wasn’t blown away by any of the dishes. Tomato bisque was everday cream of tomato soup, and didn’t even have croutons. Jambalaya consisted of a seafood medley sauteed with onions and celery, with steamed white rice totally separate, which thus misses the whole point of Jambalaya, which is to cook the rice in the tomato-based sauce created from the sauteeing of the other ingredients.
There was an extensive selection of Belgian beers, for no clear reason.
Wonderful neighborhood spot
Peacock Cafe is my all time favorite restaurant in Washington DC and definitely in Georgetown.
I have been coming here since they first opened 20years ago. The food is always consistent and the service is amazing. The owner is always so cheerful and greets every table. This is a must go for anyone looking for a casual hip place in the heart of Georgetown. It’s great for dates and for an easy bite to eat. They are famous for their daily brunch menu but I think they are amazing at anytime of the day. Always fun to people watch here too with clients from Georgetown students, politicians and celebrities.
I have been going to peacock since tbey opened . Their service and staff is amazing and I have never had a bas experience. Highly recommend for any occasion
The food was awesome, the service was amazing. I even got a chance to shake the manager and the top chef's hand. They literally walked up to the table themselves and introduced themselves, and make sure that I was satisfied and pleased. Thank you! #FlavorsForPhlavors
Good option for brunch in Georgetown and special occasions. We went for a birthday and they made a lovely birthday treat for the guest of honor. Try the homemade juices and dessert. The service is very good. My only complaint is the bathrooms could be cleaner, but it was a busy weekend when we went so this may not always be an issue.
Great food and service. Nice brunch menu.
The food was very plain and average. Too expensive for the quality of the products. Very disappointing brunches...
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner with friends at Peacock Cafe. Our waitress was charming - polite, efficient and patient with our questions. Service was fast, and all our dishes were delicious. Our table was cozy and in a quiet spot as requested - we could not have been happier.
My Grand daughter and I had a special day together and I found this restaurant on Open Table with great reviews. My expectations were met and then some. The food was wonderful and my picky little eater left nothing on her plate. Since then - all she has done is talk to her parents about it and how the whole family should go there for dinner. The wait staff and host were attentive and most accommodating. It definitely was a find and we will absolutely go back!!!
Best breakfast/ brunch in Georgetown. Friendly prompt service, good coffeee great breakfast lunch selection. In good weather nice place to sit outside in the sun overlooking Prospect Street. Reservations generally needed.
i went for dinner and found the Peacock Cafe to have a cozy atmosphere, good food, and great service!
We love this place! Finally found a great place for Sunday brunch for our family with gluten free needs who take great care with our food AND they are so accommodating with great options (use delicious locally sourced Rise Bakery for their buns!). Both gluten and non-gluten eating members are happy here! Also had a wonderful dinner before taking Uber to the Kennedy Center one night before a show and it was delicious, quick and easy to get to the show on time!
The food was amazing. I had the beets and goat cheese, calamari, and the crab pesto risotto. My daughter had the ravioli. Everything was exceptional. Even the bread was on point. I ordered a French 77, which some bartenders don’t know what that is. They had no problem getting it together. I would definitely go back.
Peacock Café is a classic, love their brunch. They need to fix the heating situation, as their door has a problem keeping the cold out. The room was very cold and that made the experience a little uncomfortable. We had to wait for about 10 minutes although we had a reservation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our New Year's Day brunch at the Peacock Cafe. Service was excellent and the food was very good. Great smoothies too! Coffee could have been a bit stronger for the morning after and the noise level was very loud, but we would return for another Sunday brunch when our heads are a bit clearer!
Peacock Cafe never fails to deliver ... wonderful service, yummy food, the most comfortable environment. Unpretentious in the best, most lovely way.
The heat was broken in the entire restaurant and we were not warned (even though we had an advanced reservation). That day the high temperature was in the 20s so this was unbearable. I'm sure this must be a health violation. It appeared to be a long-term problem as there were sheets covering all the windows. The food was mediocre and the service underwhelming. I was formerly a fan of the Peacock cafe but I'm not sure I'll return after this kind of dishonesty and poor service.
We enjoyed our brunch very much. The service was good and good was delicious.
One of my favorite neighborhood gems!! When you walk through the door you’re made to feel welcomed! The food is prepared delectably. You can’t go wrong. Also, a great place for Sunday brunch-if you can get in.
The service was exemplary. I was eating with a friend who is hard of hearing and they put us in a little alcove where they could turn the music way down which made it so he could hear conversation.
At the end of the meal, one of the young men ran to Wisconsin St. to call us a cab because my phone was dead and it was raining.
Also the food was delicious- the crab cakes were excellent- I would return for those alone.
This is one of our neighborhood favorites. The food suits everyone, as it is healthy and fresh, but will also please those in the family who want a burger and fries. The staff are always welcoming, and its great for brunch and to sit outside and people watch on a nice day. There is also a great selection of cocktails and wine.
As always a cheerful and friendly welcome at the door and excellent variety on the menu!
Servers were calm and timely despite the “lunch rush” hour
My colleague, visiting from North Carolina, was delighted to be invited to visit Peacock Cafe as we did last year for an editorial meeting.
We love this place! It's great for brunch and dinner or even just for drinks at the bar. Highly recommend!
A lovely choice for a special dinner before a show at the Kennedy Center! Festively decorated - really elegant! Food was great! Vegetarian pasta dish had lots of veggies and flavor, and the pistachio coated cod with spinach had a delicious sauce with figs. Service was impeccable. Thoroughly pleased with the choice and would certainly return.
Delicious food, great atmosphere.
We love this restaurant. It is perfect for brunch, lunch and dinner. The chef never fails. The owners are always on site and treat everyone like family
I love this place! It's been a favorite of mine for 10 years now! Great service and excellent food!
We chose Peacock for our anniversary celebration after a show at the Kennedy Center. We had a wonderful experience. Everyone was attentive and helpful, we were able to relax and enjoy a leisurely dinner. The food was excellent! The three course pre-fixe is a great option and very well priced. We will definitely keep Peacock top of the list for dining in Georgetown.
Exemplary service. Definitely would return.
This is a great spot to grab brunch. The crowd is very eclectic and pretty lively. We saw all ages.
The staff is as good as it gets in the area--helpful, accommodative and unfailingly polite. The food was outstanding. Overall, it was a fabulous experience.
Excellent; we enjoyed our Saturday breakfast so much we returned again Sunday!
Great breakfast - excellent service - exceptional management
Nice atmosphere. Cramped space. Restaurant and food were ordinary.
Wonderful 88th birthday celebration for our mom. Thank you for the complementary birthday dessert!
Delicious eggs Benedict and fun atmosphere. Love eating outdoors when possible. I live in Philadelphia but always go to the Peacock Cafe when in DC.
Place beautiful. Food great but had over hour wait from time food ordered and it coming. Busy but not that busy
Great Gluten Free Options!! Very helpful wait staff!
The chicken breast was very hard and dry
The crab cake not so good
The service very slow
It wasn't that busy yet it took a long time for our server to greet us and she didn't check on us after we got our food until we were practically done. Food was ok.
