Shahab, the owner, is always very welcoming and attentive. Every time I have eaten here the food and atmosphere have been terrific.
This was our 1st time here and we definitely enjoyed it. They offer bread while waiting for your appetizers, but I really like that they do not give a bowl of it. They give you one, which is freshly baked, and a little butter on the side. This way you don't fill up on bread. I ordered the salad with apples and goat cheese and my husband ordered the tomato bisque. Both we're delicious, and for my husband not being a tomato fan, that is saying alot. He also commented it was a good serving size knowing he has a steak coming. They seafood Jambalaya was really good as well and the fish was cooked perfectly. Only complaint, the shrimp was a little over cooked, but it didn't hinder the meal at all. We didn't finish because we wanted to share a dessert. The white and dark chocolate moouse was rich, best to share it if you don't cant handle too much richness. I liked my mojito more than the pomegranate margarita. We would definitely come back, there are a few other items we would like to try.
We had a great time at Peacock Cafe. I was happy to see that others had children with them when we entered, as we wanted a family dinner. The decor was great as there was mood lighting, nice artwork, and just a great looking restaurant. There was outside seating, but on a cool, rainy evening, everyone was inside. The waiter was nice and knowledgeable, and someone who appeared to be one of the Chefs came out to bring our appetizers and our meal. He was impressed a 10 year old ordered the curry lamb burger and came back after we ate to ask how everything was and tell the 10 year old that he was impressed with his palette. :) I would go back. The tropical margaritas were great, the calamari, nachos, and arugula salad was great, and our entrees - salmon, curry lamb burger, and jambalaya was delicious!
We took my wife for Mother's Day Brunch. It was all we expected and then some. She loved it and the rose at the end of our meal was a very nice touch!
Interesting brunch menu, busy and boisterous. People around us who were seated later got their food significantly before us(10+ mins) which was annoying. Fun vibe, delicious food so would definitely go back.
We were very pleased with both the service and the food. The location in Georgetown was good, especially for walking around after dinner.
Loved the food, ambience and service! Everything was excellent. Pistachio soup, hummus, fettuccine, burger, and caesar with salmon cake were tremendous. They saw reservation was for my husband’s birthday and brought dessert with candle, all without asking! Definitely will return. Wonderful.
It's been years since my wife and I visited. We loved it years ago and continue to be impressed with the food and service. We made a promise to ourselves to visit on a regular basis.
Had the salmon for lunch - was delicious. Companions loved their meals too (lamb burger, turkey burger). Service was fine - server a little dismissive. Great location and fun vibe.
Always a great space to have a casual lunch with a friend or simple business lunch. The staff remains outstanding and attentive.
Great food but horrible service. A lack of communication b/w hostess, waiter, and my party.(Who was celebrating a birthday) Did not feel welcome at all. Everyone acted very apathetic towards us while other tables were being treated very kindly and intimately.
Quite pleasant decor, quiet and very fresh food. We enjoyed our lunch.
Not that busy but our waiter disappeared a couple times, we think we saw him working as bartender at one pint?? Host was excellent and food was too, good portion sizes.
This is now my absolute favorite restaurant in the city. The food is beyond compare, this service is stupendous, and the restaurant is absolutely charming. First of all, we can dress casually and be completely comfortable. Parking is as easy as it gets which is a big plus. We had a wonderful time and everything we ordered was beyond Delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
Great! Shaman and Maziar are great hosts
wonderful atmosphere and food is fabulous! owners are attentive and welcoming.
The staff was excellent and the food outstanding. Will definitely be back.
The food was delicious! Not much on a plate but still a filling meal. The staff are lovely and very friendly! Went for my brother’s birthday and the whole restaurant ended up singing to him!
First dinner here at this cute little place. Our dinners were delicious. I ordered the special of the day which was scallops over risotto, and my son ordered a basil and parmesan risotto. The service was fabulous as well. Will definitely return on future visits to our nations capitol.
We were sat 15 min past our reservation time and sat inside not outside, which I had requested
Good service but mediocre food for the area. There are much better places to eat in the area.
Everything was good however I was disappointed I made a personal reservation note that it was my moms birthday, and nothing was acknowledged by anyone on staff. I had slight expectations that something would said or done, and nothing.
We were in DC to celebrate our daughter’s birthday so felt this would be a special place to enjoy brunch. My husband had the Corned Beef Hash which he enjoyed, my daughter had the Chesapeake Eggs Benedict which had a nice amount of crabmeat and Hollandaise sauce but was not served on the traditional English muffins which she would have preferred. This was served with a nice portion of fries. I decided on an item from the lunch menu-the Paul Newman sandwich which was also very good. The prices are on the high side but naturally what you learn to expect in DC!
Lovely staff, delicious food & excellent service. We love this restaurant!!
Peacock Cafe is always a reliable and pleasant option. It is rarely crazily busy but nonetheless has a nice energy with very good food and attentive, friendly service. A go-to option for a nice meal in Georgetown.
Peacock Cafe was recommended highly and I was in DC yesterday and had the opportunity to dine there. Hostess was friendly and gave us a choice of a couple of tables which was nice. The presentation of food was wonderful and the combination of ingredients inspiring. The encrusted grouper dish and the specialty Qaymay (sp?) were delightful. Service was very slow, which was actually find for us since it gave us an opportunity to catch up with our son who goes to Georgetown nearby. However, it is worth pointing out the slow service for others who might be on a schedule when dining here. We also only saw our server at the beginning and end of meal. His colleagues served the meals and helped us when we needed a spoon or beverage refills. All in all, the food was worth the wait and we would go back to Peacock Cafe!
We have an appreciation for authentic international foods and this got high marks for its’s Persian dishes. Delicious!
Food took way to long to come after ordering. Drinks not re filled, not even the water. Waiter indifferent.
Peacock is very good, not a large restaurant but great food.
It was decent! I was slightly underwhelmed because the Benedict’s were both on regular bread instead of an English muffin. We also assumed they would come with home fries/roasted potatoes, but they came with super thin fries. If I knew that I would’ve ordered home fries or fruit as a side, but I probably misread the menu/should’ve asked. I don’t know that I’ll be back soon, as there are superior brunch options in DC, but it was good enough. Maybe we’ll fair better with an omelette next time. The strawberry lemonade was very fresh and delicious!
Everything was excellent. Great location for a business lunch. Adjacent parking garage was a bonus!
Parking was helpful. Service fine but the noise and tables so close together made conversation difficult.
Decided to stop by for a quick bite on my break. Turns out this place serves brunch everyday of the week so I was sold. Decided to try something different and had the Doctor's Ultimate Eggs with a Rose' Spritzer. I like the way they presented everything. My server Christian R offered me a fruit salad with my meal as if it came with my meal, however it did not. Next time try adding "for an additional $6 would you like to add a fruit salad with your meal" to your pitch. Other than that, everything went well.
Very lovely restaurant. Nice ambiance and great food. Will definitely come here again.
Service was poor, waiter couldn't recommend any dishes, as argumentative, didn't seem to know menu. Asked 3x for coffee, which came when we were ready to leave.
Everything.about our experience was wonderful! We will definitely be back.
Great location but the food isn't as good as it should be.
Peacock Cafe has an impressive lunch menu, which includes several brunch options all week. I opted for a lunch of seafood jambalaya, which was very tasty. My friend enjoyed her veggie burger. The server gave helpful comments on the menu options. I would recommend this place for lunch during the week.
Brunch with my collegian and it was perfect!
Delicious food with pretty good service. They dressed the restaurant up beautifully for Valentine’s Day. Thought a little pricey for the amount of food, the rigatoni is the best pasta I’ve ever had. Their policies for cancellation and scheduling are sneaky and stressful however, which was a bit concerning for me. I don’t like their cancellation fee, it feels very unfair to charge people so much per person.
