Fantastic place, amazing food, last but not least great Moroccan host who takes care of everybody
Excellent service, management was very friendly as well.
Very nice host and waiter . Food was delicious
Great service. Wonderful food!! Can walk to Kennedy Center.
Wonderful location and brunch!! Will return!
great selection, perfect service and very handy location. This is a true DC jewel
Very enjoyable. The service was excellent. Kudos to our waiter Omer who was very attentive and inviting. Good job on attending to our needs. The food was very good, especially the lobster risotto which was delicious. not too heavy and not too light, just right. the dessert was excellent too. I'd go back.
Saturday night and my wife and I decided to stop in.
This place has been here forever and we have never been there. Shame on us.
We had the hummus appetizer and it’s was killer
Feeling full we split the roast chicken entree and they divided it up for us.
Our waiter was funny and the place made us feel at home.
We will make this a frequent staple for the wine and food.
My apologies for not spending my money there sooner.
I’ve lived in DC about as long as this restaurant has been in business, and somehow tonight was my first visit. Sorry I waited so long! It was a great experience. From the Maitre D who ran to the door to open it for us as we were approaching the restaurant to our server, and various waitstaff and busing staff, the service was outstanding. Friendly, warm, attentive, knowledgeable about the food and wine, and yet not overbearing. The food was delicious. Our party of 3 (me, husband, teenage daughter) ordered 7 courses between us, and all agreed our food was excellent. Stand outs included the fried calamari appetizer (light, crispy, and very fresh tasting), the mushroom risotto, and the pumpkin bread pudding dessert. In a city with new, fabulous and hip restaurants popping up almost weekly, Peacock Cafe does seem a bit dated in terms of decor. But you quickly forget about that because of the welcoming staff, great food and overall energy of the dining and bar areas. So happy to find a great eatery in G’town. Will definitely return!
Slow service, it took more than 30 minutes for the server to take our order. The tablecloth was dirty with tomato sauce. The food was regular, expensive for the quality, they charged me more than the price stated on the menu for the salad that I ordered.
We were late for our reservation and the restaurant was very busy. The hostess was so kind and helpful. They squeezed us in with a very short wait and we were a large (hard to seat) party. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating! No surprise it’s a neighborhood favorite. We definitely go back.
Great lunch and a regular visit whenever I come into town. Warm hospitality where the owners and staff know their clients and treat them like old friends.
Peacock Cafe never disappoints! I have been coming here for years and it quality of food and service is always outstanding. I love that it's never dead but I am still always able to get a reservation, even for last minute big parties. Also, any white-tablecloth restaurant that is humble enough to serve VEGETARIAN nachos is the BEST choice in my book.
Everything was great except the music. Why mess up a good meal with techno club music?
Go after 1:15 p.m., for brunch. The noise level subsided after that point.
Nice time having breakfast at 9:15am on a Saturday morning.
Great brunch and they are the nicest people. So very friendly and accommodating.
We were 15 minutes late to our reservation, which I felt so bad about, but the restaurant was really nice about it and seated us relatively quickly on a busy brunch morning.
Also, best affordable brunch in DC.
Food was tasty and well-presented. Service was impeccable.
Excellent food, great service and good company
Great food and fantastic service! Where else can you get lamb stew? Absolutely delicious.
Maybe the best place to eat great food at a reasonable price in DC, at least for an Italian palate who cannot stand excessive sauce, spice, cheese, and funky combinations of ethnic cuisines and appreciates high quality ingredients and sobriety. They also serve Sicilian cannoli, petite and hand made with sheep ricotta cheese. Cannot find them ANYWHERE in DC. Service impecable.
Excellent place for a brunch or any get together IMO. I have been coming here with different friends, with family, always a treat!
It can be quiet for a business lunch and always very energetic for brunch.
Brunch food decent & reasonably priced. Don’t expect any intimacy as the tables are closely packed, room loud and busy. Reservations are a must. Long lines of patrons overflowing from bar area waiting for tables.
Our group of five, (including a baby), were seated at a large round table in the front of the restaurant, by the window. Peacock Cafe kindly supplied a high chair. Everything was great and the service was friendly and efficient. We had a lovely lunch.
Peacock is our go to spot for brunch in Georgetown. The service is excellent and the staff are well trained. The foot is so good. I highly recommend it .
Brunch with friends was good
We ate outside.
Dined on Saturday night and had a TERRIBLE experience. I ordered the Cajun chicken salad. A chicken Caesar salad was brought out. I told the server that was not what I ordered and send it back. He was very irritated. I then received what was supposed to be the Cajun chicken salad but it seemed that they just took the cold chicken from the Caesar and put it on the new salad. I told the waiter that the chicken was not the Cajun chicken and he looked at the salad and said, "Yes, that IS the Cajun chicken salad". If you gave me a chance, I was going to explain that I realized the "salad" was correct it was the chicken that was not correct but walked away before even letting me get my response. He was quite rude and dismissive. The chicken, needless to say, was so tough, cold and inedible. The Salad was $20 so I expected a little more than what I got. We will not be back!
Delicious. Quick and easy before Cats at the Kennedy. Easy close parking. Great server.
Food was very good, service was above average. Our table was in a corner which wasn’t desirable.
We’ve been going here forever and never had a hostess stand act so incompetently and rudely. They fumbled around with our reservation for a while and couldn’t sit us outside (fine). My mom goes to the restroom as they’re trying to seat us. We finally sit inside since that’s all they had and when she walked back to the hosts, asking where we were, they blew her off at first and acted like they had no idea who she was. It had barely been 10 minutes and no they were not swamped at this point. Honestly, do better.
Excellent location . Loved the brunch menu . It was nice to sit outside on a beautiful fall Sunday . The staff is very friendly and makes great menu suggestions especially if you can’t decide .
Girls night out dinner before the Alliance Francaise fashion event at the French Embassy
Excelente comida con un fantástico servicio y atención. Se preocuparon en todo momento para que tuviéramos una experiencia de primera...!!!
Peacock cafe is my “go to” place whenever I go to Georgetown. The staff is always welcoming and attentive. The food consistently tasty with perfect proportions. The atmosphere relaxing and comfortable with lots of natural lighting due to big windows. Always a favorite for this local diner.
Great lunchtime menu with a half sandwich and soup. The food was as expected-very good and will be back
Lovely spot for lunch or dinner.
We had great Sunday lunch with homemade smoothies and sandwiches.
Lovely and enjoyable
