Great food and service
This is not an issue of the restaurant but of OpenTable. The prices listed on the meter were not accurate. Plan on 70-75 per person with a little wine and dessert.
Upon arrival we were quickly seated having made our reservation for 5pm. I think we were the first couple to be seated in the dining area, and then a couple more showed up right after. The service was fast and attentive. I think we were our waitresses only table at the time. There was two menus to choose from. The nice traditional menu and the photo copied crinkled up special menu. We started with water and I tried the Monkey Tail Martini. Martini’s are not my thing, but it was tasty with a bite! We ordered the steak bites appetizer. The steak was a little less than room temperature with melted cheese and a good sauce served on a bed of fresh spinach. Presentation was nice and my wife loved it. The cooler steak temperature was not to my expectations. We ordered our main entrees at the same time as the appetizer and being we were one of few tables the service was fast. My wife had a chicken mushroom Ravioli bowl that she enjoyed and I ordered the Bourbon Salmon off their special crinkled up photo copied menu with a side of vegetables. The vegetables were amazing, and so delicious that the Salmon seemed blah in comparison. I ate everything as I usually do and we ordered the mixed berry skillet for dessert with a vanilla custard. It was served with 2 spoons for us to share. I was surprised that the vanilla custard seemed like ice cream and overall it was a delicious dessert. The restrooms were okay, but I could tell they hadn’t been updated for awhile. I always expected the Peacock Alley to be fancy, but in all actuality it was down to earth. I could hear the manager chatting with the bartender during most of our meal assuming she was new and he was training her. But with that experience under my belt it’s not a restaurant I will be rushing back to. I can say I’ve been there and done that and look forward to seeing what else is around Bismarck to tantalize my taste buds!!!
Parking was a little difficult; food was good; will most likely eat here again when traveling to Bismarck
The service was outstanding, both in the bar and in the dining room Valentines Day was a complete pleasure
I went in expecting an excellent steak, since that is one of the reasons I chose to go there. I ordered the cowboy ribeye which was the most expensive steak they had. Extremely disappointed with the thickness and overall size of the cut. I have made larger and better tasting steak on my grill at home.
Food was served luke warm and steak was very tough and grizzly. Baked potato was not done.
Service was great. Food was ok but nothing special. Not worth the high prices though. Drinks were too strong. Dessert was just thrown together.
Food was very good, service was good. The one light above our table was out and it was hard to see at the table (we had someone older with us and she had problems seeing the menu and her food).
Very god ribeye and my salad was ok. I ordered a bloody Mary...It came with a rubber egg, cheese, beef stick, a celery stick, a pickle and an olive. Very peppery.
Worst Bloody Mary I have ever had.
We were there for a birthday dinner.
We took the young adults in our family to supper and the hangar steak was terrific! The half price bottles of wine on Wednesday was a bonus! Our only suggestion was most of us did not care for the bread and butter. It had a different taste. Thank you for providing quality food in downtown Bismarck!
They were very accommodating for my daughters celiac. Food was excellent
Great ambiance, but the food could have been better and the decor could be taken up a notch.
It's been 4 years since we have been here. We were disappointed how the menu had changed drastically. No chicken or pork options. Only four diffrent steaks to choose from. Unfortunately we will not be back did not suit our pallets.
We visited on a Wednesday. No need to make reservations. Wonderful staff and food. A bit pricey, but worth it!
As I mentioned, the ambiance was good and the noise level was tolerable. At our table for 8, there was a nice distance from out table to others. I had ordered two appetizers, asking for one to be served as an appetizer and the other to be served as my dinner - that didnt happen. When our dinner orders arrived, seven of received our dinners, the eighth person waited more than 5 minutes for her dinner.
The food was served hot, everyone enjoyed their entree, except for the peaches and pork. It was lot more than just a casual dining experience.
Very interesting historic building Food was very good & service was excellent.
Everything was delicious from the homemade bread to the steak. We both had the wonderful hanger steak. Compared to Atlanta prices, it was crazy inexpensive. If we lived in Bismarck we’d be regulars.
Steaks were perfect and the drinks were mixed correctly and consistent great place very happy
I would only recommend it if you can eat in the dining room. We made reservations in the dining room and when we arrived they said they were only serving in the bar. The bar was noisy, with TV's on, very different service and ambiance then what we were expecting. It was the same menu but served much more casually. We were disappointed in the experience and the food was OK for Bismarck but nothing special
A solid restaurant with excellent service, good food and a reasonable price. Too many items not available on a Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm. Portion size on the hangar steak too small. Otherwise, a job well done!
Whole experience was horrible. People in the party were criticized for bringing balloons. Manager was extremely rude. Food was wrong three times and never fixed but were offered a free dessert instead of another fixed $29 steak when we had birthday cake on the table and said we didn’t want dessert from the restaurant. Drink prices were outrageous. A glass of orange juice was $4, Long Island tea was $16 and the excuse for he whole experience was “Well this is Peacock alley one of the top restaurants in Bismarck.” Which it is not. Would never recommended eating in the dining area. We also couldn’t get drink specials unless we were at the bar. Very poor experience.
Food was very good...waiter was fantastic and very personable. Location was on the main street in town so it was very convenient...
Good as usual, menu has something for everyone. It is not the prettiest restaurant, nor the best maintained physical space. If you are a steak fan, do not miss the Hangar Steak.
Food was fantastic ad usual. Service was mediocre. Owner was not very accommodating and rude.
The overall experience has drastically changed from 2 & 3 years ago, food from shrimp to prime rib not impressive
Enjoyed the Mother's Day Breakfast/Brunch! Nice set-up that made for a very fine dining experience!
Food and service were excellent but the bar tender has to learn how to make a DRY MANHATTAN ON THE ROCKS!
We decided to splurge and bring our extended family to the Easter Sunday buffet at peacock alley. At $26 pr adult for brunch we felt it was a bit steep, but felt like it would be a special Easter meal with our family. The remaining option available was a 2:00 pm reservation. We arrived to a swinging restaurant with tables in the big open dining room. We were seated in the back table of a side conference room. We all proceeded to the buffet, where I found myself next to two other guests just looking at the buffet in disappointment. The restauarant had “run out” of prime rib, as well as several other entrees and appetizers we had been looking forward to. The three of us looked at each other and all agreed: had we known the circumstances, we would have definitely gone elsewhere. We all met up again at the dessert station, realizing that it had been broken down, minimized and placed elsewhere. Very disappointing. No refills offered on our drinks, but otherwise reasonable service. We ended our Easter Sunday brunch with all of the back of house staff eating the leftovers in the main dining room, which we were happy to see them treated well and enjoying their Easter, but it seemed a bit odd. After having had a disappointing anniversary dinner in the last couple years, this was Peacock’s last chance. They did not deliver. Requests to modify our bill were denied. Our three year old said she had wished we could go to McDonald’s, which we had laughed at. On the way home we all agreed- it would have been far better and about $150 cheaper! We are reasonable people with minimal complaints normally. We. Will. Never. Return.
Our server, Derek was incredibly patient and always attentive, the food was delicious was presentation needed attention since many times it appeared disheveled or disorganized. Space was very cramped and chaotic so made conversation difficult and people moving constantly was cumbersome but overall the experience was positive.
Restaurant was cold and we ate with our jackets on. We ask for a different table and was told none were available yet a fourth of the tables were empty. It was a buffet and every time you went up to get food most of the pans were empty. The pans that had food in them, the food was cold. The experience did not come close to expectations.
We have been there several times and seem to have issues each time. Easter brunch this year was cold, not kid-friendly and sparse. I contacted the owner to comment and he responded with a very high-handed, unapologetic answer.
Our plates had huge chips on them. The menu stated my steak would be prepared to medium rare for optimal tenderness and it was purple. I am a rare meat eater and it was far too rare for me. Buffalo fries were not appealing. We anticipated a much better meal and won’t be back any time soon, unfortunately.
Service good. Food good. Did not ask about deserts timely. Missed out on it. 😢
Food was ok & steak was under cooked. Ordered medium well came out medium rare. Service was slow and long found out at end another server walked out so took longer.
Myself, my son, grandson & grand daughter and 1st wife
Celebrating my x wife’s conquering stage four throat cancer!!
Had a great dinner at Peacock Alley Saturday evening. As usual, service and food were on point and second to none in town.
Outstanding atmosphere, great steak, and a menu with plenty of variety. It was s great historical and dining experience.
I came with a group of friends for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We had a wonderful time, the food was great, and our server was wonderful. We sat in the dinning area where is was quieter which was nice because we were able to have a conversation without having to yell. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to others.
Good food and wine. Nice ambiance. We both enjoyed the hanger steak. Lots of menu options.
