We were seated right on 9ur reservation time. The server, Sarah, was friendly and very helpful. She answered our questions and was very responsive to our requests.
This was my 2nd visit. Both times we had great food and slow service. Allow plenty of time if you plan on attending an event after dinner.
It was our restaurant choice because it's a convenient location before a show in Saint Paul. But three days later, it's hard to remember much about our meal--there wasn't anything remarkable about it, either good or bad.
Excellent meal for all three of us - Cannelloni, Gnocchi w/Bolognese, and Fettuccini Alfredo w/Sausage. Our waiter was delightful with good recommendations. I love the atmosphere of the hustling bar and quieter dining area. Nice start to our evening before the Pink concert.
Dinner date was very nice and food was very good.
We are back ...
Pazzaluna has an excellent valet by Homsa, he is always quick and eager to open my wife's door, great job Homsa. Also it is nice to have my car ready to go when I am done.
Check in was great, no wait.
We had the table by the window, good location but next time I am going to ask for the table in the corner- less traffic.
It was super busy night a lot of people dining before the high school hockey tournament and the SPCO special concert by swedish clarinetist David Frost.
Pazzaluna started something new, the entire menu is on the one big sheet of paper including the wine list. Now I think it is easier to find what you want to eat.
Pazzaluna also stopped making the month PreFixe specials...I liked the PreFixe, I could look forward to my visit. We shall see where the new chef Michele Totoro will take Pazzaluna with his new ideas.
Our dinner concluded:
Cold Antipasti- super tasty love it
Sugo pomodoro & four cheese sauce- as always very nicely done
Apples, pears, toasted almonds, gorgonzola & honey-apple cider vinaigrette- it looked fresh and well presented- tasty
Cauliflower, roast apple, brussels sprouts & herb sauce- we had this dish before, the duck needed 30 more seconds on the pan to be done better in my opinion. I felt like it was too raw.
Last time I had a roasted duck with sweet potato hash.
I think I liked the old style better, the presentation was definitely more colorful.
We had a glass of the red italian wine, it was very good but I don't remember the name of it.
Cappuccino was right temperature this time.
Overall our evening was very nice. I still will recommend this place to everyone if you want to have a special event with a very special people around you.
Is there a possibility to have your wine list on the website, please?
Thank you our weiter, unstoppable Curtis, Tim Bush, chef Seth and welcome the new Pazzaluna chef Michele Totoro. We will be back.
Our waitress was extremely sweet and service was quick. The rib eye steak was phenomenal and although a little over cooked for a medium rare, it was still extremely tender and succulent! The only reason for the 4 star is because the beef brisket on the risotto was a little dry, however, the flavor was wonderful!
A delicious meal, a fun and friendly server, and out the door in time for the hockey game!
We were disappointed. For the price, the food was mediocre and the service was slow.
Everything was nice except the chicken on the salads was dry and over cooked.
It was our first time at Pazzaluna. The staff was welcoming and attentive. We were early for our reservation but were guided to the bar for drinks and an appetizer. The menu is fun with some interesting options for both myself and my vegetarian wife. The food and wine were very tasty, I'd say definitely above average for this type of establishment. We'll return to enjoy the ambiance and try out more of their menu!
I ordered chicken picatta. The description said chicken with a lemon butter sauce with capers and Parmesan risotto. The chicken was very good, but it and the risotto were buried underneath what looked like a thick heavy Alfredo sauce. It was very thick almost thicker than gravy.
I didn’t eat much rice since it was coated in the overly thick sauce which was quite rich like there was cream added.
My husband had saffron risotto and it had too much butter which made it very rich as well.
We always love the service at Pazzaluna. I ordered the cheese pizza as an appetizer for the table and it was a hit. We appreciate that they pay attention that we plan to go to the Hockey game and the servers do their best to get us out on time.
We've eaten here before, but this visit left us very disappointed. The kitchen went 0/4 on seafood dishes. Mussels - several were not good. The calamari was undercooked and bland. The walleye fillet was ok, but sauce was bland. And our tuna entree was over peppered and covered in a dressing with way too much vinegar. The service was attentive and friendly, but the kitchen needs to get their game back.
Excellent food! Great service. I would eat here again.
Beautiful ambiance, best Italian upscale restaraunt in the Twin Cities area. Food is delicuous and elegantly plated. Be prepared to spend some money.
Wonderful. From start to finish. :)
Food was WONDERFUL! Service, impeccable :)
We've dined here sereral times. The food is wonderful , the Filet is one of the best I've ever had.
Great food and a fun place! Olive tapenade was an unexpected accompaniment but it was really great. It would be nice to have balsamic vinegar along with the olive oil on the table though.
We have been to Pazzaluna a number of times and always enjoy it. This time we dined with friends. Our food was great tasting with perfect portion sizes. Our waiter was excellent, helpful and attentive. We stayed a bit longer, but they did not pressure us to give up our table. All the staff was friendly. I will definitely go back again.
Nice menu for Restaurant Week. Food was good and the service great
Met friends there for a dinner before a concert. It was a quiet snowy weeknight so we had great attention from the wait staff. Food and drinks were very good. Only concern was our food came very quickly but I'd rather that than wait.
Pazzaluna is a favorite and came through again. We love the place for special occasions when price isn't a factor. The quality of the food is always good and service was excellent. I had Papardelle Bolognese and she had Chicken Parmesan. We both ordered and loved the Squash soup. Very thick and tasty. The chocolate lava cake with gelato made a nice dessert to split. We both also enjoyed the side of asparagus with Parmesan. Just the perfect texture not mushy or too crisp.
We're going to return again.
Our party of five were at Pazzaluna for a special occasion. Our food and service was great. The only real negative was the noise level. It was hard to hear the person sitting to me.
We received an anniversary offer from the restaurant; when we arrived, the wait staff and manager said "we don't do that" and our service went downhill from there. Why would a restaurant send a special occasion offer they do not intend to honor; we were made to feel like we were trying to cheat the restaurant; it ruined our anniversary dinner. Food was okay, but the service/management situation was not.
We were seated promptly at 5. Received our water and told the name of our waitperson who we did not see for 20 minutes. We thought they were busy seating patrons so excused this delay. But the delay happened after every course. We were seated at 5 and received our bill at 6:50. This was a little excessive. However the food was wonderful.
My Wife and I brought our mothers and my sister to dine after a show at the Ordway. We enjoyed wine and cocktails in the bar, as we were early for our dinner reservation. The only negative of the entire evening, was that the bar was out of Drambuie for my favorite cocktail. The ambiance was good, the food was fabulous, and our servers were attentive, prompt, and knowledgeable. I will definitely be returning.
We enjoyed our second "Engagement Dinner" experience this past weekend. Both occasions were exceptional in service, ambiance and menu selection. Pazzaluna is an memorable "Special Occasion" restaurant!
Have to say I was a little disappointed in the food. The risotto with the Chicken Piccata was gummy, the lemon butter sauce was thick as pudding and not very appealing. The servers were a bit too busy, didn't tell us about the specials, drinks took a while, probably won't be back, too bad, loved the atmosphere.
The salad was incredibly disappointing. It had wilted lettuce. The chicken I had was mediocre at best. Not worth a 70$ tab for 2 people
Ambiance is fantastic, tables offer plenty of breathing room and the overall space is interesting. Notably, lighting is fantastic.
During my visit service was awful. We had a reservation for 8:30 and showed up at 8:05, they told us they'd have a table for us within minutes. By 8:45 we still had no text and had to talk to the hostess again. We were brought to a table in the far rear of the restaurant with no apology. Our waitress had a good attitude but it took nearly ten minutes to get our check.
Food was good but not worth the cost especially taking into account the poor service. I can't recommend Pazzaluna for anything beyond the location itself.
Fantastic place to go out on a nice date. Food was great, the atmusfear was great!
On a previous visit, the food was spectacular, the best Italian food ever. This last visit was only very good, on par with other high-end Italian restaurant. I will have to try it one more time to see which one was the fluke.
One best and most consistent restaurants in the Twin Cities. Superior service. Curtis is a true professional.
The service was excellent, the food outstanding. Everything you want for a date night.
Everything was great, only downside was we were there for a business meal and right by the kitchen so it was rather loud.
it was great! highly recommend the pecan pie!!
We went to Pazzaluna for Valentine's Day--my husband loves Italian food. Our server was very attentive and helpful. The food was very good and we had a wonderful bottle of wine. There were specials for Valentine's Day, but we ordered off the menu. The only problem was that I ate too much! But that's not their fault! We'd definitely go again.
I have eaten here several times, mostly for date nights with hubby, but recently for pre-Valentine's dinner with our family of 4, including two school-age sons.
The atmosphere and service are always excellent. Dining here always feels like something special. The food is consistently very good to excellent with creative takes on Italian standards.
Very worthwhile fine-dining experience.
