Great service! Nice ambiance. Moderate noise but acceptable. Nice wine selection. My major complaint is about the food. The menu describes your meal with some type of vegetable. To me that means that usually I will get a small amount of meat (4-6ozs. ) but at least I will have some vegetables and or potato to help fill me up. Not at Pazzaluna, you get about 4-6 ozs. Of meat, no potatoes and 1 1/2 Brussels sprouts. I felt completely ripped off. We paid over $250 for four people (not including tip) and we all walked away still hungry. If they had just added more vegetables I probably would have felt better. I travel for my work so I eat out most nights. I know what I’m talking about. I left the restaurant feeling really annoyed and angry. I hope management reads this review and takes it seriously. I won’t be returning until I’ve heard this situation is improved!
The food was fairly average, we got the Burrata bruschetta which was pretty good but we also had the penne pasta which was extremely average. It basically taste like penne with Ragu sauce. Nothing special. The shrimp was quite overcooked. The pizza was fair, but in this day and age holds no candle to many other locations. And the $10 side of mushroom this was literally just sautéed mushrooms plopped on a plate. Very average.
They had two dishes with house-made pasta. We tried both, and they were about as mediocre as you can get.
The bruschetta had one sprig of real basil, and what appeared to be a few dashes of dried basil. The bruschetta I make at home is way better than that.
Our bill with one glass of wine and two N/A beers was $129. Overpriced.
Decor is way outdated, despite amazing location and building space.
Pretty disappointing, to say the least.
We had a great dinner at Pazzaluna. The service was great, and our food was wonderful.
Food was mediocre. Nice place.
Great food. The menu has changed. But the new selections are still excellent. We miss the herb risotto though.
This is a fun special occasion restaurant. We did the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings and had a great meal. The only odd thing was our server kept asking us how we wanted our meal paced as we enjoyed each course. Skip the risotto, but enjoy the desserts!
All was good except a minor issue where I received a different food plate than I had ordered. I was in the rest room when the food arrived, so my friends didn't notice. It was chicken without the risotto; when in fact I ordered the Walleye instead. It was promptly corrected (less than 2-3 minutes) - which led me to believe it was already prepared, just someone grabbed the wrong plate. The staff brought it over quickly, but didn't offer an apology. Nothing major, just would have expected more from the great team at Pazzaluna as we've eaten here many times in the past. Overall service was good and food was delicious as always.
We planned a birthday surprise for my daughter and her boyfriend. I was really excited to try Pazzaluna and it was the perfect location for a meal before going to the Ordway. My husband and I arrived a bit early, so we had a drink at the bar during happy hour. Prices for a delicious cocktail were great with the happy hour specials, service was good, and we were excited for dinner. We were seated at 5:05, and my daughter and her boyfriend arrived about 10 minutes later. 3 of us went with the Pre fix, including 4 courses. 2 of us had lasagna and 1 had the scallops. The salad was amazing. Sadly, it was the only part of the dinner that was. The risotto was bland and the mushrooms in it were over cooked and slightly slimy. The lasagna was not even as decent as Stouffer's (how sad is that for an Italian high end restaurant??). It was pasty and raw noodle flavored, the spices we're incredibly bland, and the cheese was almost non-existent. I had 2 bites and that was all I could take. My husband's scallops reeked of fish, I've never smelled or tasted such fishy scallops. They was a scant sized portion of them that he didn't finish because they were so off. My daughter's gnocchi was "ok" according to her, but she was trying to make the best of a very bad restaurant choice. Over $200 for dinner for 4 that was barely edible. Oh, and I forgot to mention that our main course took longer then anyone around us and we sat waiting for over 30 minutes for our food after we had finished appitizers- we almost had to take it to go. Im so disappointed. Skip Pazzaluna and go somewhere else.
I am not sure why this restaurant is rated so highly. The dining room is very loud and having a conversation would be impossible. We sat on the patio which was nice. Our server was pleasant but maybe having an off night. Brought the pre-meal bread about a minute before the entrees came out. All of this would be ok if the food was good. It wasn't. The chicken and asparagus risotto had very small chopped pieces of asparagus and the diced chicken was tough and chewy. The chicken piccata was also dry. The food seemed pre-cooked and reheated. The portions were fine, but the prices were high for the poor quality of the food. I would not go back.
What a great place for pretheatre get together. Great food and great service and atmosphere. All you would want.
We have eaten there and enjoyed celebrating our anniversary this year. I am impressed that our waitress has worked there for 20 years!
We dined at Pazzaluna before taking in a show at the Ordway. They had a special theatre menu which highlighted a number of their specialties. we opted to choose a variety of different dishes (all equally as good). Service was great . We got to the show in plenty of time. All in all a very memorable experience.
Very expensive and very small portions. Very loud.
Went to this restaurant before seeing Mama Mia. Food was excellent.
My teenage daughters and I had a great dinner at Pazzaluna after an Ordway production. Our server was friendly and attentive, and both teenagers -- one a vegetarian and one a meat-eater -- were excited about their meals. We shared a dessert that was just heavenly. Reservations are almost a must, but easy enough to make in advance. We're looking forward to a return visit.
Great place. We enjoyed the food, the service was friendly and attentive and the menu choices actually very good for a vegetarian.
We had a wonderful pre-theater dinner. Food was great. Our server, Jake, was very attentive. Loved the whole experience.
We were there pre-theater so it was very busy and noisy. Service was slow so we did not have time for dessert. The biggest disappointment was the food. Chicken piccata was tasteless, salmon preparation was average. Angel hair was good and lasagna was average.
Wonderful evening-special night for our mother’s 90th birthday!
We came for the Wheels of Italy car show. There was conflicting information about when the live music would start - it started much later than we planned for, so that was our only disappointment. The outdoor server was excellent given the ever changing weather!! And she came inside to complete our bar tab due to the rain!! Our dinner was great and looking at the cars after dinner was amazing.
Always enjoy dining at Pazzaluna.....food, service and location are terrific
Great food, service, pasta wonderful Will return for sure
Everything was great my only disappointment was the portion sizes for the price were not equal. We went in hungry and unfortunately $100 later we left hungry!
Everything was delicious except for my spinach ravioli the pasta was not fully cooked and was hard. My family had the seafood linguine filet minon and the lamb chops were AMAZING! Great customer service.
We went for a pre Ordway dinner. Our table was not great, close to the kitchen with a fair amount of noise. The wait staff was good, helping us choose our meals and assisting with special requests that were all met. The food was the most disappointing, my pasta looked like it had sat under a heat lamp for sometime, another dish, risotto was under cooked and not creamy the way you’d expect risotto to be and the soup seemed to lack seasoning. Overall disappointing and will not be returning for the rest of our season at the Ordway.
It was busy on this evening and it took longer than usual to get our food. Pizza was good but crust was undercooked.
We had a great time and the wait staff was incredibly attentive
I have given this restaurant 2 chances and the food was dried up, tasteless even the salad was fair.
We each had the 4 course meal and everything was very, very good. The cocktails also were very tasty. Our waiter was very friendly, helpful with eplaining everything on the menu and had a great sense of humor.
I would definitely come back here for dinner.
Amazing food and great service!
First time there and everything was just OK. My husband and I ate there for restaurant week and both had the prix fixe special. I got mine with bruschetta (came with one) & my husband got his with the Caesar salad. Both were good, just nothing outstanding (though the high point of either of those was the dressing on the salad - very creamy). Bread service was nice, but they can definitely skip the olive tapenade as that was...meh. For the entree, I had angel hair with shrimp and I was really disappointed. I've had that 3 or 4 other places and the one here fell short of all of the others. It was more of a spaghetti sauce than the fresh olive oil, garlic, tomato, & basil that I have come to love and expect. There also weren't very many shrimp in it; a FAR cry from Chianti Grill's offering. My husband had the spinach & ricotta ravioli for his entree and it was also nothing special. For dessert, we both had tiramisu and it had good flavor, although it was a bit dry & could use quite a bit more soaking of the ladyfingers with Kahlua & espresso. After dining, our Open Table points were not credited even though we had a reservation and indicated that when we arrived. Overall, $100 night for service that was rushed & lacking any attempt from the server to build rapport. Beautiful atmosphere, but not enough to lure us back, considering the mediocrity of everything else.
The food and options for prix fix menus were wonderful. I was able to order the special Mamma Mia prix fix & wine pairing and my sister-in law ordered off the regular restaurant week prix fix menu. This was for my sister-in-law’s birthday and we attended the Ordway following dinner. I am glad we had early reservations as we needed all of that time. I was a little disappointed nothing was offered to my sister-in-law for her birthday as it was that actual day. Years ago we were given a complimentary bottle of wine the value of our age.
Took my two nieces here during Restaurant Wee(. The food was lovely. I had chicken piccante which was melt in your mouth good. The bruschetta was ,othing to write home about though. The creme brulee was near perfection. The custard was not too sweet and the sugared crust was crunchy. Both my teen age nieces also loved rverything about the place. Thank you.
Went to Pazzaluna for restaurant week, Place was busy for 5:15 res but we weren’t rushed
We always enjoy Pazzaluna. Great food and service. Upscale but relaxing atmosphere. We come on dates nights as well as family gatherings with our high school aged children.
Service and food were awesome! Nice work everyone
Our experience has always been top notch at Pazzaluna, our waiter (Curtis) made the experience extraordinary. He had suggestions, recommendations and added interesting comments and stories about the restaurant which made it personal for us. The service is always exceptional and although the noise level was a little louder than usual it was due to other patrons, enjoying themselves as well. Pazzaluna never disappoints!
Great food and great service made for a great time with friends!
Excellent food, excellent service and timing too. It was for four of us, and it is a 10
