Pazzaluna Urban Italian Restaurant & Bar
The award-winning and critically acclaimed Bar at Pazzaluna Urban Italian is an energetic and fun place to meet after work, before an event at the Ordway, Xcel Energy Center, Roy Wilkins Auditorium or just to unwind with family, friends, clients or business associates.
During warm weather, relax on the patio and enjoy the sights and sounds of downtown St. Paul (patio open May through September). See for yourself, you'll be glad you did.
Celebrated a 50th birthday party, and our server, Patty, was phenomenal! Even lended her reading glasses to a member of our party who forgot hers and couldn't read the menu. The food was also fantastic and the drinks were excellent!
One of our favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities; amazing service and every entree I've had has been absolutely delicious. Last visit, I had the seafood linguine and my wife had the shrimp Alfredo - both were out of this world. Definitely going back whenever we have the opportunity - high recommend this gem!
My partner and I dine at Pazzaluna 3 or 4 times a year. Last night both our entrees were especially delicious.
We (4 of us) have dined at Pazzaluna many times over the past ten years. This time was a great disappointment - mainly in the food.
Chicken Alfredo - sauce and noodles very tasty. Chicken was overcooked and tasteless.
Lamb chop special - generous serving, but overdone.
Short rib special - too salty
Seafood linguini - excellent. Generous amounts of seafood and tasty sauce.
Deserts - Pecan pie and chocolate cake (special) were excellent.
Dinner was delicious! The ambiance was lovely, and the service was excellent. We will be back!
If I could award six stars, I would! Everything was great and the waitstaff was fabulous!
It was a great experience on every level. I always believe that the sign of an excellent mean is when I get
hungry for the entree .....and I am already hungry for the pasta, chicken, smoked tomatoes, and four
cheese sauce I enjoy on Friday evening. I sure wish there was a Pazzaluna in downtown Mpls.
Birthday gathering. Server was great.
Another excellent meal and dining experience. I have never had a bad meal and the service is always excellent. A favorite restsurant of ours.
We had an hour until curtain time and our waiter absolutely worked with us. Good food, will return!
For the price, not worth it. 2 "signature dishes" order and chicken was overcooked and lacked flavor. My 17 year old said her signature spaghetti dish tasted like a "microwable meal". Server's response after informing her the chicken was dry and overcooked was "okay" and walked away. When asked to have our server check on our food (which wasn't delivered until 40 minutes after ordering), and informed her we had a concert to go to, her response was there's a lot of people that are going, and then......nothing. She walked away again.
I had the special which was very good, but that rotates. Thirty dollar signature dishes should be their most consistent and intended to be the best meals to bring you back again. I won't need to eat there ever again. It is past it's prime.
Great place to go before going to X.
Very nice good service good food.
Pazzaluna is one of our favorite places to eat. The food is always of the highest quality and the service is great as well. During our most recent visit, I made a reservation and when we got to Pazzaluna to be seated the table that we were offered was smack in the middle of a high traffic area that really wouldn't work for our party of five. We asked if we could move to a booth and the staff happily accommodated our request even though the restaurant was very busy. We had a very slight delay and then were shown to a great booth where we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. We will continue to be devoted fans of Pazzaluna. Thank you for your great customer service.
Dinner was superb. We were a little early but were seated as soon as our entire party arrived. Bar area was very crowded due to St. Patricks Day. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the cold antipasti, entrees, and dessert platter. Our server was very friendly and attentive even with how busy it was. He was there when needed and had great timing. We also enjoyed some after dinner cordials and cognacs. The food and drink menus were excellent without being overwhelming. Fantastic!
Our server Jean was really good and very friendly. Great food and service. Coming from San Francisco my expectations were high.
It was fine, but I ordered the see bass, and it just wasn't that good. Portion was very small. And the asparagus was burnt. On the contrary though, my wife's pizza was very good. The bruschetta was some of the best I had ever had. I should have just ordered two orders of it.
Great service and food as always.
Awesome food, awesome service. Will be back
Was great. We had 8 people before a show at Xcel and they were great got us served delicious food and out on time. Really appreciated the fun night. Thanks!
Five of us had dinner before going to an event at the Xcel Center. Everyone was delighted by their meal. Service was friendly and professional. The food was outstanding. We even enjoy some decent wine at a reasonable price.
I was a little surprised by the $18 Valet charge, but I assume they need to pay the parking ramp.
Chicken piccata was outstanding. Risotto was especially good. Love your place. A routine before Wild games and cucina cook took is an experience as well.
The server was very helpful with a tap beer and wine recommendation. All four of us enjoyed the food. The gnocchi special was particularly tasty. The only concern was that the artichoke dip (although very flavorful) was very runny/messy - hard to dip and spread. Thanks for the nice experience!
Great place, food and location. Horrible waitress ;Jean)other service staff clearly tried to make up for her poor attitude.
Our server was so incredibly slow and deliberate. His speed - or lack thereof - cost the restaurant a round of drink sales as well as dessert sale.
We were each underwhelmed with our entree orders, which ranged from gnocchi to risotto to spaghetti to a seafood special. None of us at the table are chefs or anything close, but two of us even commented, “I make this better at home.” For the price-point, we certainly expected the food to be several notches better.
We chose this location for its proximity to The Palace Theater, but will likely look for an alternate venue ahead of our next concert. For Italian, I’ll likely head elsewhere too.
Try to get a seat at the back counter - it's just a hoot to watch the cooks prepare the dishes. They're really nice about explaining what they're doing. And of course, the food is GREAT!!!!
Had dinner with my wife on a Saturday evening. Made reservations online and it worked great. Atmosphere is great and the food was delicious. Our service was outstanding. I do think it was a little expensive but that did not take too much away from a great dinner out. Definitely go again.
Everything was excellent! The scallops and gnocchi were spot on as well as the anti pasta. Great beer selection
Great Food and Service
Our waiter was great and friendly but our food came out way too fast. It felt very rushed and was almost faster than going to Taco Bell!
Overpriced. Also, fettuccine Alfredo was extremely salty. Almost not edible. If we weren't in a rush (we are attending a Wild game), we would have sent it back to the kitchen. My husband said his lasagna was just ok and our child didn't like the pizza (too much black pepper). Wine and cocktails are pricier than other great restaurants around downtown St. Paul. We don't recommend.
Our servers section was across the restaurant so it was a slow service night. It took 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. The food was wonderful though.
This restaurant is visually stunning, with great ambiance (if you like larger places with high ceilings). Looks like an American's fantasy of a classic Italian restaurant, and an Argentinian friend who was with me said it was just like many restaurants in Buenos Aires. The service was great. The food, however, was really mediocre; very little taste, although the presentation was nice. We tried the pizza, an angel hair pasta with tomato sauce, a few salads, the breaded zuchini, and the bruschetta. None of them were remarkable in any way, and some of them were not actually all that good. But as I said, the ambiance is lovely, and our experience as a whole was very nice. Just don't go there if you are expecting amazing food.
definitely felt like quality has waned. Have been there several times for dinner and this time quality of food was significantly lower. Additionally a "service upcharge" was added to the bill with a note that it was necessary to maintain good quality wait-staff. No explanation or advanced notice was given that this upcharge would be added and there was no option to have it removed. Felt cheap and as if restaurant was trying to sneak it in. Used to be one of our favorite Italian restaurants in STP but we will think twice before returning. Sadly, seems to have taken a significant downturn.
Absolutely outstanding atmosphere and food - and the service was A+++
Food was good, service was not as attentive versus other restaurants. Could have been server specific, not restaurant related.
Absolute best-in-area happy hour food & drinks for a MN Wild game!!
A spectacular meal, delicious cocktails, and courteous service. Excellent, excellent dining experience. We always enjoy Pazzaluna!
This is my favorite downtown Saint Paul restaurant before or after a show at the Ordway. Chose the clams/mussels and asparagus - it was wonderful. Others had the Carbonara and Crab Cakes - equally delighted. I highly recommend both the bar for happy hour and the restaurant for dinner. Top Notch!
Always love the service, ambiance and food and Pazzaluna. Their restaurant week menu was perfect and they were able to accommodate an additional vegetarian option. Our server was polite and very attentive. 110% recommend.
