Paulette's Restaurant at the River Inn of Harbor Town
Paulette's, which has been operating successfully in Memphis for 42 years, recently moved its popular, award winning operation to the River Inn. It has been described by one reviewer as "A Memphis institution and for a very good reason". Paulette's is serving the same soups, salads, and entrees that have made it so well known throughout the mid-south for many years. The restaurant has always been famous for its desserts and hot popovers with strawberry butter. Paulette's has a distinct warmth, charm and ambiance that is unsurpassed in the city. Restaurant polls have annually recognized Paulette's as Memphis" "Most Romantic" and for it's cuisine - "Best Continental".

Service and ambience were outstanding. All wait staff wore masks and social distancing was observed at all times. Salads and entrees were very good. I look forward to our next visit.
We chose outdoor dining for lunch. It was lovely on the sidewalk right outside the restaurant. The food was excellent as was the service. We were celebrating a birthday and enjoyed the $1 bubbly available at lunch!
Popovers were amazing. Dinner was just okay. Not worth the fuss. Dessert was the same. Service was wonderful.
Service was Excellent!
We've always loved Paulette's, and am hoping this experience was just an off night. Their Monday Night Specials always look good, especially for the price, so our group decided to try it. 3 courses for $19.99 is a great value, but we were really disappointed. Basic drinks, Cosmopolitan and Old Fashioned, were not right, and took about 20 minutes to receive. (Another 15 after we asked for them to try again.) The wines came a little better, although they could have sold several more glasses to the table had the delivery and service been more attentive. Prosecco was served slightly less than room temperature, the glass didn't even sweat. Our salads and soups came out at 2 different times, and short a spoon. Dessert (on the set menu) was to have been an apple crepe, but after another long wait, we received brownies with a scoop of ice cream that was so tiny it was really only garnish. We weren't told there was a problem or shortage, they just plunked brownies down in front of us. The entrees were both good, but the overall experience was a huge letdown compared to our expectations. Will go back, but only because of over 30 years of much better food and service.
Wonderful customer service and fantastic food. They have lovely outdoor tables as well.
Not the Paulette’s I’ve always known and loved. No popovers at mid-day? I’ve never been to Paulette’s when there were no popovers and it took our server at least 15 minutes from the time he said he was bringing them to the time he told us there were none.
The server was personable, but incredibly slow. My guests were from out of town but even if they come back to Memphis, I don’t believe I could entice them to return to Paulette’s. It was disappointing because Paulette’s has always been in my top three places to eat.
As a repeat customer, the one word that sums up Paulette’s is “perfection.”
My filet is cooked perfectly and was so juicy and tender it literally melted in my mouth. People might frown on the price but you get what you paid for and so much more. Our server had a great personality and took her time to explain some of the dishes we had questions about. Will return and encourage others to try them out
years ago it was great ! Now it is Horrible I believe it is under new ownership and is
Had a really great experience. The food was amazing and the ambiance was very nice.
Wonderful dinner. Service and food were exceptional.
Wish we could have tried everything on the menu! Decided on shrimp & grits, and lamb chops, with cauliflower tempura appetizer & fudge brownie for dessert, Excellent meal!
My experience was extravagant!!! I will be back soon.
I had not seen my friend in a while and we decided to go to Paulettes. Everything was great - from the service GEORGE provided all the way to the caramel bread pudding. We tried the Monday night special and it was a perfect serving.
Paulette is one of the few remaining resturant where the atmosphere, food presentation and taste, and ambiance equals a wonderful unique experience. My bride and I look forward to our next visit.
Anasatsia, our waitress, was phenomenal!! We will definitely be coming back in the very near future!! The food was awesome as well!
Very good food, service and atmosphere. We had an enjoyable experience.
Great brunch! Lovely setting. Great service!!!! Paige was our server and she was delightful!! The food is always great and today was no exception.
A great spot. Food is always good with a well-rounded menu. I eat at Paulette's when traveling through Memphis and am never disappointed. Service is excellent.
The atmosphere was very romantic and quiet...just what we were looking for. The food...not so much. The spaghetti tasted like it was cooked in an old wine reduction sauce..very pungent. The chicken was oily and so was the coliflour appetizer. The waiter was nice, but we could not get past the lack-luster food. Not worth the $75 for two. Sorry...but this was a disappointment.
The food is always good, love the crab cakes and crepes!
Paulette's is better than ever! The location, service, and food were all exceptional. We felt like we were on vacation in Harbor Town. Great for a special occasion or just a night out.
Beautiful atmosphere, very nice waiter, loved Jimmy the pianist who talked to and played for us as we waited. Food was disappointing. The salad was the best tasting item I received. The price was ok for fine dining, but not for the quality we experienced. The occasion was for our anniversary so overall a nice night but I will not return there.
We have been celebrating our anniversaries at Paulette’s for years. Each time we have dined here, we have never been disappointed. My husband gets the filet mignon and I get either a chicken or fish dish. Always delicious! Topping it off with coffee and a dessert. Exceptionally pleasant time as always.
Paulette's was a nice restaurant for conversation. The service was excellent. I was somewhat disappointed with my meal. The redfish with crabmeat was on the dry side. The potatoes were a bit hardened too, so I think it sat too long under the heat lamp. The portions were on the smaller side, which is fine, but not reflected in the price. The salad was good and very sharable. The key lime pie was fresh and tasty too. A good meal overall, but not excellent.
The redfish was excellent!! Also had the seafood and spinach crepes. Our usual selections. That’s what we go for!!!
The two filets, the Paulette’s special and the regular filet mignon were both excellent and cooked to a perfect medium.
Food was delicious and our server Katie was just lovely. Highly recommend!
It was Ok. Waiter was good, food was pretty good. Wine list was very limited and overpriced. Would we go back? No unfortunately. To many other choices.
Paulette's is my favorite restaurant for a leisurely lunch because the food is always fresh, well prepared, and tasty and the service is unobtrusive but attentive in the lovely restaurant with fresh flowers.
Superb service as usual! Classy, great ambiance, stellar yet unobtrusive service. Allan was our server. We enjoyed excellent conversation, a good bottle of champagne, and delicious food. The salmon, in particular, was perfection. It was a fabulous memory to make with friends.
Needs updating. I was kind of shocked that the computer used to assign your table at the entrance of the restaurant is facing the wall, which forces the staff to stand with their back to you. I had never visited before and had high expectations. It seemed to be out of date and they have such a great opportunity to take advantage of the scenery outside but chose otherwise. Food is as good. Our waitress was pleasant and did a good job.
If staying at the River Inn, this gives you an upscale option which is very convenient. But if staying downtown, it is still only a 5 minute drive or so from the Peadbody. Quite and can have a conversation. Good food.
Paulettes was amazing! The food was to die for...the server, Paige, was super sweet! Loved every minute of it!
As always, delicious food and outstanding service.
Since I was a little girl, Paulette's has been a mainstay in my family. During this current time in our world, it was even sweeter to celebrate a special birthday in a place with so many fond memories. Thank you for offering us a bit of refreshing normalcy.
Wonderful service from Anastasia! The food was delicious and we were able to enjoy our conversations because it was not noisy! Perfect ambience.
We enjoyed our evening!
Overall we had a good meal & a good evening. I put in my notes of my reservation that it was a date night, however they sat us in a booth by the door, when there plenty of available tables by the windows with views of the sunset on the river, even with their social distancing requirements there were better locations they could have sat us. The service was very slow. It took forever for a waiter to even take a drink order & was then very inattentive. He brought us our ticket without even asking if we were ready for it or if we wanted dessert. The food was good, but nothing specific to brag about. Overall, we might try here again, but would likely pick one of our other high-end Memphis favorites instead.
Always excellent food and friendly service. We’re regulars on Monday evenings.
I had been there before and wanted to take my sister somewhere unique.
She loved it all. Our waitress was wonderful.
