Paulette's Restaurant at the River Inn of Harbor Town
Paulette's, which has been operating successfully in Memphis for 42 years, recently moved its popular, award winning operation to the River Inn. It has been described by one reviewer as "A Memphis institution and for a very good reason". Paulette's is serving the same soups, salads, and entrees that have made it so well known throughout the mid-south for many years. The restaurant has always been famous for its desserts and hot popovers with strawberry butter. Paulette's has a distinct warmth, charm and ambiance that is unsurpassed in the city. Restaurant polls have annually recognized Paulette's as Memphis" "Most Romantic" and for it's cuisine - "Best Continental".
Amazing place. Great atmosphere. Excellent food. Great service. We will come again soon. We just moved from Los Angeles to Memphis and brought friends visiting from Los Angeles. We couldn’t be more please.
In town for concert, in search of a nice restaurant close to the venue. Open Table directed us to a wonderful restaurant with fantastic food, service, and atmosphere!
Great food, service and atmosphere. Will definitely go back.
Paulette’s never disappoints. Attentive service, delicious food and a quiet dining room make Paulette’s my favorite Memphis restaurant. The warm popovers and strawberry butter are worth the trip!
The ambiance is unbeatable. Live flowers, table cloth, attentive waitstaff.
Paulettes is not the culinary experience it used to be. Menu choices are steadily shrinking and less inspired.
Nice Southern atmosphere and food. A bit too dark for people with bad eyes ...
But we’ll be back.
Excellent food! Beautiful restaurant. We had a wonderful luncheon.
Nice ambience but very slow service. Was not busy so no reason for the slowness.
Marchell was an outstanding server and made sure that everything was okay. Enjoyed the meal (salmon and trout) as well as the seating. We were able to see the sunset over the river. We had not been to the new location since it opened and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will be back!
First time at Paulette's; My wife and I went for our 51st anniversary, on the high recommendation of friends. Everything was "just right." Our server (Lee) was extremely attentive, professional, and knowledgeable. He took care of us so well and was very responsive to our individual needs. It was so nice to have such a quality place to enjoy this special day for us.
Great dinner before a concert at FedEx Forum. Steak Paulette is my favorite—lots of peppercorn sauce. But the biggest hit all around was the popovers! Beats any roll or biscuit. Server was slammed but did a great job.
This was a perfect time to come and everything was outstanding.
Our dinner was outstanding. Our food was excellent, and our server was attentive and cordial. The restaurant's location is excellent. We had a view of the sunset over the river while we were there. I would definitely recommend Paulette's.
We’ve dined here before and this was our best experience yet. Our waiter was attentive without hovering. The nicely sized redfish entrée was generously topped with tender crabmeat and the brownie dessert was perfect.
The door between the room being used for a private party and the dining room must have been slammed shut at least 30 times. Sometimes guests, many times by employees. The door also kept being left open. The noise from the part was substantial and the noise in the dining room would elevate with everybody trying to outshout the noise from the party. We both ordered Creme Brûlée. Unfortunately when the custard was made it was not properly tempered causing the consistency to be something like scrambled eggs. The sugar on top had been burned by the person using the torch. Sticking a big strawberry over the burned part is bush league. We love Paulette's and hope they just had a rough night. Usually a great place we will give it another chance.
Wonderful birthday celebration where eleven people enjoyed the celebration. The Paulette filet was delicious! Everyone commented on their great meal and experience. Highly recommend!
Service was friendly but not the most prompt. Brunch was approximately $100 for 3 people (includes tip). Quantity of food wasn't all that great. Overall, I'd recommend but Paulette's is pretty steep on price given what you get.
This was just a lovely experience. Enjoyed the quiet graceful ambiance. The food was delightful beautifully presented and tasted delicious.
We are regulars at Paulette's so admittedly last night was an anomaly, as it is usually a wonderful experience. Diners one table over ruined the entire evening for us and our guests, due to an uncontrolled toddler child who shrieked at ear piercing levels for 2 solid hours. Management said they were unable to do anything. Really???? In addition, popovers were burned and k-pie was half melted.
First time for four older women from NY, CA, DE visiting Memphis. We ordered a variety of drinks and food. Decent wine list including good half bottles. A pleasant evening.
Hard to beat Paulette's for food, service and ambience. It's been our go-to spot since the Overton Square days for birthdays, anniversaries, and the day after Thanksgiving (a family tradition) and anytime a quiet, romantic spot fits the bill.
Had a fantastic 5 year anniversary + mother dinner last night. Waiter was spot on with recommendations. Service was outstanding. Food was incredible. And setting was beautiful! I had not been to this location since they opened on the island but I am so glad I did. Will be back again soon!
We love Paulette's! We have our family dinner here everytime we visit. Everyone counts on it and cannot wait to go!
Paulette's is one of the few restaurants where you can enjoy a good meal in a wonderful atmosphere. It may be the quietest place in Memphis, a reason why I keep going back.
We enjoy Paulett's. We have dined there at least 50 times over the years and have booked some large office parties there.
On this past Saturday we were served the skimpest portions I have ever seen in Memphis. I had fish, as always, the portion could be covered from view by my index finger.
It was tasty. But gee. I felt like I had received a one dish flight from Flight Restaurant.(My Favorite Restaurant in Memphis) We will go back again. We enjoy the view of the Mississippi river in Memphis, the piano player providing music in the background and the cozy bar.
The place was very nice. Our server Marcel was attentive and polite. Very experienced. Food was delicious! I had Redfish fillet that was fantastic over asparagus. Everything was great from beginning to end.
Everything was fantastic, as usual! The sunset from the rooftop was fantastic. The service in the dining room was perfect.Pauletts is always dependable for any occasion.
Absolutely amazing food
Delicious!!! George Falls was there and we visited with him!
I have dined at Paulette’s numerous times and frequently entertain out-of-town guests at the restaurant. The food and general experience has never been disappointing. Most of my guests ask to return there on subsequent visits. Consistency in food quality and service makes a huge difference.
Always a great experience, business, friends or family dining.
Poor service , food was not what it use to be , pretty interior ,
Seating slower than usual, but great Waitperson and good food.
We arrived for Sunday brunch and were promptly seated. The menu offered a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items along with daily specials. First up were the popovers, served warm with powdered sugar and strawberry butter. Delightful! The food including an oversized omelette, the brochette of chicken, and fried green tomatoes with crabmeat was fresh and delicious. Paulette's remains a favorite to celebrate good food, well prepared and always memorable.
The food was wonderful! The service was impeccable, and management was very active in the restaurant. They never made you ask for anything. It was calm and collected. Perfect for Sunday brunch!
Beautiful space, courteous service and delicious food. Appreciate the Monday night specials! Good food at a bargain price. Our only complaint was a high noise level in the small but full room.
Our 49th anniversary but I am not sure why you asked when we made the reservation since nothing “special” was done nor was it mentioned.
The woman employee that greeted us as we walked in never looked at us nor smiled. Not a good impression and if I didn’t know this restaurant my attitude would have gone downhill.
I got the impression she thought we couldn’t afford to eat here.
The server, Mike, was excellent!!
We went to Paulette's to celebrate our anniversary. The food was perfect and our server was very friendly and helpful. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back and tell our friends.
A bit pricey but the food was absolutely delicious. They brought yummy popovers with strawberry butter to us for free. Spent about $110 after tax and tip to comfortably feed two.
We love going to Paulette's in Harbor Town/downtown Memphis! Last night was just "ok". The service was a little slow. We both ordered the salmon cakes which were delicious. However, our asparagus and mashed potatoes were barely warm. Our server was ok but seemed to be so busy with other tables. Otherwise, we had a nice dinner. We will go back as we do enjoy Paulette's!
