We may have a biased opinion as French people, but this restaurant was definitely both too loud and crowded. It may be something common in the US, but by our point of view, this was way too much. I could hardly hear what my wife seated in front of me was saying. But I could tell you all the details, even the unwanted ones, of the life of the group of 8 sitting next to us. In France, it isn't customary to talk to the person sitting at the opposing end of a table of 8. Well, it seems it is in the US, so, again, this is my opinion as a French used to France restaurants. Hope this advice will help the many french tourist to make their choice.
The food was really great, generous portions, the service was good too, the waiter was very caring.
Still, we did not stay long as we couldn't speak together which lacks in interest as a couple. Probably a great place for US customers. Not so much of a great place for those not used to this level of noise.
One of the best pizzas we have ever had. Great service by very friendly staff. Was very busy so make sure you book.
But way too busy and noisey...
We were sat between the bar and walk way. Constant people walking past
Reservation was waiting for us- good service- good food!!
Patzeria’s is my all time favorite spots to eat before a show!!! Food is amazing & the wait staff is beyond accommodating. I love this place!!!
Absolutely delicious! We ate here just before watching a show on broadway and were not disappointed. The food came quickly and the servers were very kind and friendly. I ordered the lasagna which came with an amazing sauce. Would 100% recommend!
La pizza tardo un poco pero valió la pena, buen servicio y puntual con la reserva
This is a great choice for a pre-theater meal. It is casual, but the food is good, it is not too hectic, and the service is prompt. Will come back.
Wonderful food and service...would definitely recommend to others!
Cozy, friendly ambiance. Tasty food. We were very rushed having a limited amount of time to get to a show. They were very accommodating and quick (depending on what you order understandably). The clam linguine was delicious as was the seafood pasta. The meat ravioli however seemed a bit bland, nice but not great. Would definitely give it another go and spend more time)have different things. It's a pretty manic place...very busy with a great atmosphere. Recommended
Really good food! Both the pizza and pasta were very good! MAKE A RESERVATION. I would make it as soon as you decide you want to come. Easy, quick walk from times square
They were very accommodating when I told the waiter that we had to leave at a certain time because we had a show to see. Food was ready, fresh and delicious.
Pizza were so gooood ! Personal size is enough for 1 person.
Love this place! Every time I travel to New York I make sure to visit Patzeria. The staff is friendly, the food is fabulous - best spaghetti sauce in the world and meatballs to die for. The only drawback, bread and salad are extra and not included with the meal. Tables are a little close, but that adds to the ambiance. A must stop for a great authentic Italian meal.
We went after theater and were rushed. Told them we were eating after seeing a show.
Food was OK.
I was in NYC for the Thanksgiving day parade and wanted to be sure I had a reservation somewhere. This restaurant was open and accepting reservations for Thanksgiving so I jumped on it. Our reservation was for 7pm, but we arrived early and they sat us anyway! Was grateful for that. The food was terrific. Service was great. Atmosphere is casual. Great menu.
Fantastic! Be sure to get this place a try when you're in the city!
We went on a Tuesday evening; a large party was waiting for a table. We had a reservation and was seated right on time. Food was served fast and fresh. We had plenty of time to eat and still get to our show on time. Staff attentive and friendly.
Nothing fancy, but very friendly, tasty, and quick!
Place was packed on a Monday night and was very loud. We were seated next to a large group that really should have gotten a room somewhere due to their loudness. Food was excellent. I had their signature dish and it did not disappoint. We were waited on by several staff so not sure who got the tip-but have already figured out that NYC must not be known for their service.
Un locale piccolo e tipico, molto caldo l’ambiente, molto gentile il personale.
Una delle migliori a Manhattan
Authentic homestyle Italian. Very casual and family friendly. Chicken and eggplant parm and pastas are worth the trip!
Patzeria Family and Friends is an excellent NYC restaurant. We have visited many times and have always left satisfied. The food is delicious, the staff is always attentive and the prices can't be beat. This is one of our favorite places for our after theater meals. It is authentic and it's like my grandmother is in the kitchen. Hats off to the chef!
Food was good. Restaurant was fine, but hot. Service was not great.
Viaje de placer. Refrendado con una buena cena. Buen producto y buena relación precio calidad.
Sitio a tener en cuenta. Decoración justa. Atmósfera mejorable. Buen servicio
We have visited Patzeria on every NYC trip for many years now, it is wonderful every time!
Perfectly good Italian restaurant in midtown, nothing spectacular but a decent meal!
Fast service. Delicious food. Reasonable prices. We made a reservation for 5:30 and barely a table was taken. By 6:00 every table was taken so reservations are definitely recommended. We both ordered pasta. The red sauce was fresh. I had linguini with clams. The clams were huge and still in the shell. There were more clams already in the pasta. My husband had penne with meatballs. The sauce wasn't watery. They also served garlic bread. We shared a salad- caesar- standard fare. There are no refills on sodas- was charged for a second soda.
I made a reservation and was seated promptly. The overall service was great, the food is my reaction for the 3- star rating.
The garlic bread was burnt and stale, bitter really.
I ordered the lasagna and it tasted days-old, the sauce was good and it had an abundance of cheese on top. I ate it most of our because I was starving, but I wouldn't eat it again.
I was disappointed because l many reviews specifically called out how good the lasagna was, but it hit the mark with me.
Simply my favorite Italian spot in town, the staff is friendly, the service is fast, and the food is top notch.
Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Very friendly staff that went out of their way!
It was a delicious meal, lots of food, and priced well. But, it was SOOO hot in the restaurant! Good thing they were right on top of filling our water glasses before they were empty.
Food was excellent and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Get the garlic knots!
Busy busy busy... but worth it. Waiters hustle and work hard. Pizza and pasta are great. Good family site down place.
The food was excellent. They had a lot of homemade options and specials for the day. Friendly service in a quaint little place. Definitely a hidden gem without a huge crowd
Great pizza and fresh pasta and salads! Service was great, too!
A little gem in the heart of the big apple. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. I would go as far as saying the pizza was the best I’ve ever had
We started coming when we stayed at the Belvedere and we loved it. We stayed on the East Side this time but we wanted to come even though we had to walk a bit. We brought friends with us and they loved it too. Thank you.
We had tickets to see Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre and made reservations at Patzeria for dinner two hours before the show started. We were about 10 minutes late for our reservations but they were able to seat us pretty quickly. I ordered the tomato cheddar soup to share with my daughter and the shrimp parmigiana. My daughter ordered the cheese ravioli. We were served a complimentary order of garlic bread a few minutes after being seated. The bread tasted very fresh and was really garlicky (a positive thing in my mind). Our food took about 45 minutes to arrive and our waiter didn't bother giving us an update, despite the fact that he walked by our table numerous times. We also had to flag him down to get more drinks and he never brought our soup. The food was pretty good - the pasta was cooked perfectly and the marinara was really fresh. The restaurant is two blocks from the Gershwin Theatre, which was very convenient, especially since dinner took so long. It was about a five minute walk from the restaurant. Hopefully our experience with the service was unusual but I would recommend giving yourself plenty of time for dinner if you're panning on going to a show afterwards.
Went for a birthday lunch for my friend. The food was great and super fresh, the service was great and everybody was so nice. You have to go there.
