    This was my fourth time at this restaurant, and I left disappointed compared to previous visits when it was called Patria. There was no taste to the seafood paella, they have reduced their portion sizes but not their prices and the sangria was watery. It will be awhile before I return if I ever do. They won't be in business in the future unless they improve under their new name .

    If you’re looking for a spot in Toronto that serves up incredible food with a side of unintentional nightclub vibes, look no further than Beso by Patria. The dishes? Absolute knockouts—flavorful, beautifully plated, and worth every bite. The service? Spot-on. Friendly, attentive, and somehow managing to read lips better than most UN interpreters. Now, about the music. Imagine being dropped into Studio 54, handed a menu, and told to have a lovely dinner. I half expected a disco ball to descend onto our charcuterie board. My only regret? Not brushing up on my sign language before coming—because having an actual conversation at the table required a level of mime artistry I haven’t practiced since kindergarten charades. Would I go back? Absolutely—just maybe with noise-cancelling earbuds and a flashlight for subtle communication. Because when the food’s that good, you can forgive a little ear-bleeding bass.

    A few things: We had a reservation but the placement was right next to the most traffic area. There is no flow to even go to the washroom without bothering other customers. The server told us we had to leave 1 hour into our meal with plenty of food still not being touched.
