Patria Latin Bistro Ratings and Reviews
It was a complete disaster. We never even ate or drank anything. We arrived for our 8pm reservation and they were also hosting an event/autograph signing and were completely understaffed. Our table was not ready and they scrambled to put it together. We waited 15 mins before even seeing a menu and by 8:40 still didn’t even have our drink orders taken so we walked out.
Awesome service! We went for Mother's Day around 6pm. It was a prefixed menu and they were already out of one of their meals which is the reason I chose that venue. Our appetizer was delicious & so was my cokcktail (this place never disappoints for their drinks), however my mom's dish, flounder was ok & it was served over lentils which were hard. She didn't have an overall great experience:(
I love patria's. I used to go there a lot. Great bar and food so automatically I suggested patria's for mother's day. Well, I don't know if it was the prefixed menu, but the food was horrible. I was so disappointed. There food is usually delicious, but this time wow. I will try them again on a normal night.
This is the second time I've eaten at Patria and overall the food was tasty. The creative spin that the chef takes does not depart from the traditional but enhances the presentations offering quite tasty and textural dishes which will please the eye and palate. The friendly waiter was very knowledgable and helpful with descriptions. I do hope that they will bring back the paella which was thoroughly enjoyed on out last visit.
Very limited menu, not what was shown online. They also eliminated or changed most of their better food items, very disappointing. We also ordered a salad, an appetizer and a main dish, all of which were served at the same time. Not the way to enjoy a meal. All in all, unless they redo their menu and figure out the timing in serving courses, I don't think we'll be returning.
Our server was wonderful. We were definitely not ignored or overlooked by her or any other employee than came to our table. However, we made her aware that we were visiting & catching up having not seen each other in awhile. She kept checking on us every few minutes & we had to stop our conversation to acknowledge her. Again, great waitress, just a little bit of overkill on the attentiveness. Have always enjoyed Patria.
Ambiance was nice, guacamole was not fresh seemed like it came frozen from a bag, overall food was not good, when I visited this place years ago they had several ceviches and they were great! Now they only have one ceviche which was the only good thing we tasted!
Nice interior, very good service. Food is very good, American style. I was expecting Spanish tapas, alas... steak is good, other meat choices are also good, but most are shredded or pulled pork, not enough choices of meat in one peace. Salad platters are huge, enough to share for 3-4 people. I'm sure we'll be back in this restaurant.
It was our first time at Patria. We had a great time. Everyone from the Bouncer, hostess, waiter and owner were very polite. The food was great. The ambiance was great as well. Once we had dinner and went over to the dance floor, the DJ was playing a great mix of music. The owner was kind enough to buy us girls a round of shots. All in all, we had a great time and would definitely go back again.
Where do I begin? I was looking for good authentic Spanish food for a nice romantic Valentine's Day dinner. We arrived at the restaurant early as usual, the gentleman at the door was very nice. After going inside the two young girls at the coat check were very loud and immature, taking pictures of the customers and laughing. The hostess was also the bartender and pushing service out, needless to say it took 15 mins for our drinks.
Now seated we quickly discovered that it was a very limited menu on Valentine's Day. The waiter was very nice but extremely slow! Two guys running the floor on such a busy evening! Taking our orders took forever, and the calamari appetizer dish was so rubbery and tasteless, the kitchen also ran out of sauce.
The main dish and drinks were good. Good flavor and cooked properly.
After waiting 15 mins for dessert we decided to pay the bill and move on to the next place.
Very disappointed at this restaurant. We will never go back.
Second time to Patria Latin Bistro. The menu includes many items from a variety of Latin Countries, which never disappoint. The lobster soup, roasted pork, ropa vieja and short rib dishes were excellent. We celebrated our adult childrens' birthdays and the super sparkler cake candles on the Tres Leche cake were pretty cool. The staff was very attentive without hovering which made for a great experience. I recommend this restaurant to all.
We went to this restaurant for Paint Nite. The black bean soup had way too many onions and watery. We had to send the calamari back because it was cold. When we received the order back the calamari was very dry. Two of the ladies ordered two different white wines which Patria Latin Bistro was not able to provide. They offered a substitute. Would not go back.
We were looking for Spanish Food in the area and came upon this restaurant. We were delighted with the menu, service and the atmosphere.
It has its own parking area which is important in Rahway and they offer packages in conjunction with the Rahway PAC. Also it is within walking distance of the train station.
I would highly recommend for lunch or dinner.
Appetizers: Guacamole, Chorizo, Camarones al Ajillo - good
Drinks: Sangria - too sweet - okay
Dinner: Vieras con Camarones - small portion for the price but tasty - very good
Churassco - tasty spices and tender meat - very good
Dessert: Tres Leches Cake - very good
Churros - excellent
Loved the food. The soup on the menu, lobster soup, was out of this world! My wife had snapper and the sauce was excellent, the fish perfectly cooked. I had some kind of seafood mix. It was very good and with my wife's plantains it was excellent also! Service could not have been better. It is not on a main street and only has a tiny sign on the awning.
Celebrated my wife's birthday on December 28, 2014 with our adult children and their
significant others. The food was great, very tasty with plenty of
flavor and flair. The guacamole was awesome as was the ceviche
and chorizo. The pork osso buco was the best ever. The food had a very modern
and upscale, fusion flair to it. Highly recommend this place for foodies and anyone
who loves modern latin food from many different spanish speaking countries.
Service was also great, very attentive without being over bearing.
Special thanks to our waiter, Jeff, who took it upon himself to run out to the store for milk,
when the place ran out.
I made the reservation with open table, got the confirmation email and when we arrived to Patria to celebrate my mother's birthday, it was closed. It was Memorial Day at 5pm, most restaurants were open. I don't understand why would it let me book a reservation on day that they were closed. Nobody has reached to me regarding this matter.
