Pasta's Trattoria - Pleasanton Ratings and Reviews
It wasn't the worst, but we were seated and then no waiter for 20 minutes. Not even a drink was offered. There were empty tables so it wasn't crazy busy and didn't make any sense as to the lack of attention. I had to grab another waiter to see if we were going to get a waited on and again no answer for another 15 minutes. We were about to walk out. The food was fine, but there really was a problem of communication. Our eventual waiter apologized but he was obviously thrown into taking another table he wasn't expecting.
This review from me ends what was once my favorite restaurant. I have been going here for more than 20 years!!!. I am going to try and keep this short so just the facts. Good: My waitress Liz was great! Bad: food, all of it!!! No matter what I ordered. Salad dressings not good! Rib Eye...I have never seen so much FAT on a piece of meat!!! Garlic Mashed potatoes were dry and flavorless!!! I sent the plate back after taking 2 bites. My husband kept his plate (we ordered the special) of food but did not like it either. The Manager refused to come out and see us. The co-manager only stopped at our table after she heard me complaining to my husband about the quality of the food and apologizing for a bad date night based on the food!!! I ended up ordering a plain pasta and waiting another 30 minutes for my dinner. Only after I complained to the co-manager she decided not to charge me for my pasta...so our dinner with tip was still close to $100!!! Unbelievable...thank goodness for bread.
I have never been so disappointed in this restaurant that I have been going to for years. The service started out good and then never came back and the food, so ever disappointing! The filet mignon was in chucks and over dressed bread and over cooked for medium. And the chicken mozzarella was also chucky meat and totally wet bread! I never had a bad meal there before, but this took the cake!
Pastas is a gem. Wonderful fresh Italian food and attentive, welcoming and friendly service in a fun neighborhood. Visiting from out of state, I will come back here again on my next trip and allow time to dine there again as well as wander cozy, charming downtown Pleasanton.
A friend recommended Pasta's that was joining me for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised as a first time diner. I expected a menu full of high carbohydrate pasta dishes richly smothered in red tomato sauce which I tend to avoid. When I arrived and looked at the menu specials I was extremely pleased to see fantastic meals that were more my taste with awesome seafood salads, and very healthy options. My table was immediately available and my server Liz was fantastic! Great business lunch experience. Thank you Pasta's Trattoria for a great meal and fantastic service!
Everything was great. My only complaint is that i reserved a table by the window inside a day in advance and we waited an extra 40 minutes before they finally offered us a tabkr outside. I wanted to be inside. The food and drinks were great. The people and service was great. Why make a reservation if it isn't followed.!?!
We ordered ice tea. Our server said they have three flavors so I thought that was interesting that they brewed three flavors. The waiter brought us bottles of tea. I don't care for for bottles tea, waiter was kinda of offended when I asked him if they have brewed tea, he replied "I already have opened these" that set the mood for the rest of the meal. I was not impressed with food or service. I have been in the food business for many years I am a chef and I have been a waiter. You don't treat customers this way. I asked my friends that were with me, they enjoyed their food but was not impressed with service. I can't say this is a place I would specifically drive to eat. Not sure if I would give it another try. Definitely not a 4 star experience that shows on open table.
