Excellent food! Chicken verde and butternut squash ravioli were both unusual and delicious. Adequate wine selection. low/moderate noise level. Seems popular and provides take-out as well.
Sonia is awesome. Very personable and knowledgeable of the menu will always come back for her service and food. A++
We had a terrific experience. Service was really good. Food all tasted great. Had a wonderful time outstanding service, good food, noiselevel moderate.
Meal was great, service was slow.
Delicious as always.
Very good food but a poor dining experience! We ordered drinks but not all were served at the same time. One came later for some unknown reason. We received a lame excuse that made no sense. We ordered salads to start that NEVER arrived. When the entrees arrived, we cancelled them. As with the drinks, not all of the entrees were served at the same time. No one wanted to start until everyone had their food. Don't serve anything until everything is ready--a very basic rule of service. Lastly, the bill was incorrect which we had to point out and have corrected. I took the manager aside to give him this feedback about our concerns. He was very polite and listened well but didn't really know how to respond. Looks like training is a big problem here! We have dined here several times, have sometimes had issues, but never of this magnitude. The very poorly managed service clearly overshadowed the good food. We have decided not to return and will not recommend Pasta Primavera.
3 of us for dinner. Son had a chicken over rice, wife had lamb, and I had paella. We also had 3 appetizers and two had salads. This is good, solid california cuisine with an Italian accent. Everything was prepared well, and presented nicely. The spicing on my paella was as excellent. Everything that should have been tender was tender. The portions were generous and, even with one ordering wine and a desert we still only spent $121 with a well deserved $21 tip. A very good value. (I only give an excellent on value if I get 5 start food at less than $250 for 3 of us and the food merits the rating. - Rare.) This is not a Michelin star restaurant, but it isn't Olive Garden either. Two levels above the latter and maybe a level and a half below the other, but still a very solid choice. Excellent service.
The service felt rushed and therefore we felt rushed.
The food was just alright. The garlic bread had raw garlic on it that was not eatable . The pasta was good and the sauce too.
Pasta Primavera is one of my favorite go-to restaurants in Walnut Creek. The food and service are always excellent!
Food was delicious, the setting is nice. It was Valentine's Day, so I was given a rose as we left...nice touch!
Staff asked for our name from the reservation, he left to find it in the computer. About 5 minutes later some comes around asking for names to be put in the list. I told him we have reservation and already gave our name. His exact response was “everyone’s got reservation so give me your name and I’ll put it down on this list because this is what we are using”. I come here often and didn’t appreciate that response. I made reservation 2 weeks in advance to avoid this. In that 5 minutes other people had come in, and their names were ahead of mine.
Food was terrible. My chicken piccata was watery and chicken was like tough sliced boiled chicken. We didn’t get a bread basket till our dinner arrived. I waited for 15 minutes to get a refill.
Best part was getting the tiramisu to go.
Local Italian place that always is a good place to go. I usually get take out food but had a nice meal with a date this time. Will continue to go to Pasta Primarvera.
We were greeted upon entering the restaurant. We arrived early and were seated after a short wait. We were given updates and we appreciated the staff interacting with those waiting to keep everyone up to date. We sat at a nice table in the back room. We enjoyed a very nice dinner. The food was fantastic. The portions were large. It was a nice night out. I’m looking forward to returning. The downside - parking is limited.
always consistently good.
We often find we have a craving for a good, Italian meal at the end of a long trip. This restaurant is quite close to our house and a good place for us to stop. We always enjoy the food and the service is excellent.
This trip, we had two pastas. One, the Chicken Dijon is a favorite of ours and did not disappoint. The other was the butternut squash with a creamy tomato sauce. The sauce, while very good, overwhelmed the taste of the butternut squash. It was a good dish, but I would prefer to have butternut squash with a less tasty sauce. I find I enjoy it with butter and sage much more.
We had the arugula and spinach with strawberries and peanuts salad which did not disappoint. We ordered a wine that they were out of. The waitress suggested a similar, more expensive wine. We were tired, so opted for a Chianti instead. We skipped dessert. Our craving satisfied, we went home and crashed.
The pasta is wonderful and the service is great. We love the sun dried tomatoes pasta the
They didn't have our reservation when we arrived but the hostess did an excellent job getting us seated without much of a wait.
The food was excellent. Well prepared, very tasty, with good sized portions. The kitchen was backed-up and the food took quite a while to come out, but we were not in a hurry so this was not a particular problem for us on this occasion. Our server was friendly, very attentive and proactive in keeping us informed regarding the status of our meals. It had been quite a while since we had last been to this restaurant, but we enjoyed the food so much that we will definitely come back again in the foreseeable future.
Twin visiting for family teunion
Nobody greeted us on arrival, when someone was seating us we had no idea until he turned around and looked at us like “are you coming?” It took about 20 minutes to get water after we asked 3 Times.. the waitress broke the cork into our wine.. our appetizer order was taken about 15 minutes in.. and entree order taken just about when we were done with our appetizers.. we never knew where our waitress was but it wasn’t even busy. It was just a mess..
When we walked in it was casual and a little noisy due to the crowd. We were seated in a back room which was perfect. We had wine and an app, then our entrees. Everything tasted great, the service was good too. Will go back to this place.
I have eaten here before in the past and the recipes for the dishes we ordered has changed dramatically. Food was still good though.
Visit this restaurant frequently. Have been client for more than 15 years. Also visit their other locations. Generally very good service, food quality and quantity is good and is convenient location. Also do frequent take-put service.
Tried the happy hour menu and everything was delicious. Clams, calamari and muscles all wonderful and such a great deal. Perfect amount for two. As usual, a great meal.
Had a great meal at Pasta Primavera, looking forward to going back. There were about 6-8 entrees on the menu that I would have loved to try, but a guy and only eat so much. I took my wife and dinner out for a causal dinner. We brought our own bottle of wine, but they have wine and serve cocktails here also. I had the smoked salmon appetizer and my wife and daughter had the bruschetta. They both had two different chicken Pasta Dishes and I had the Gorgonzola Pasta....all the dishes were great. Ended the meal with cheesecake, tiramisu, and a lava cake:) Cant wait to go back, definitely recommend coming here!
A wonderful neighborhood restaurant with delicious Italian food.
Terrific as always. We've taken to sitting at the bar recently so that Tracy is our waitress.
Located in a little strip mall with limited parking. They could not find our Open Table reservation, but were ready to accommodate our party anyway (I provide a reservation number so they eventually got us into their system). Quite busy and the tables are packed in quite tight. However, we did not really notice the crowd noise. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. We quite enjoyed the quite reasonably priced food. The chicken saltimbocca was tasty. One member of our group had the cioppino which was quite generous and good. A good family dining experience. We will come back!
Other than trying to find parking (only a few scant parking spots in front of the restaurant and almost no on-street parking) the food was good, the staff welcoming, kind and prompt. We’ll definitely go back.
Not enough help out front or in the kitchen. Waited and waited for service and food. Have gone there before and have had a positive experience. Must have been a very off night.
Food was not up to their usual!! Kind of bland even the tapenade which is my favorite
Food was good as was the value. However, we could not get past how rude our server was. Not only did she ignore us after bringing the food, but we were there early enough that it was just us in the dining room aside from one other so we could hear everything she was saying about my boyfriend and I to her co-worker. They both proceeded to stare at us all night, moving from one person to the next as she gossiped and pointed at us. We asked to speak to the manager and were pacified for 15 minutes waiting for the manager who did not come until my boyfriend called the restaurant and asked for him by name. After we told him what happened he apologized and said “how do you want me to make this up to you” which just means I don’t know what you want from me. We didn’t want anything, simply for the staff behavior to be acknowledged and corrected.
Aside from this situation, the food was great. Wine selection was nice and their dessert even was great. I highly recommend their kitchen staff, whom ever was cooking that night. Just be weary of the servers.
Very good restaurant and excellent choices? One of our favorite places to go locally. Staff always courteous and attentive.
Pasta Primavera is a neighborhood restaurant just of I-680 north of Treat. The menu is not huge which usually means that they make the limited dishes very well - and Pasta Primavera doesn’t disappoint. The Caesar salads were really good and don’t miss the bread and dipping sauce. The special was Chicken Rigitoni which was really tasty and really hot, which is good. They are only too happy to modify dishes to suit the patrons as proven by my wife ordering the seafood mixed plate over linguine with a pesto sauce - her favorite - instead of the spicy marinara sauce that it was listed with. It turned out great - they should put it on the menu that way! The other couple we were with had salmon dishes and since they are known for their seafood, the dishes looked great and from the evidence of the clean plates must have been so. The bill was very reasonable and will will certainly be going back.
We went as two couples who have been friends for over 25 years. We ordered two salads, each split between a couple. We had 4 entrees, which we shared 4 ways. And we finished with 2 desserts. We split a bottle of Pino Grigio. The salads: one was spinach (with bacon), other spinach and arugula. Both we served split on two plates. Dressing light and nice. We asked for a received extra plates on which to share our entrees. The dishes were the bread and butter dishes, a bit small, but larger plates may have overwhelmed the table. We put the entrees in the center; the waitress brought us extra spoons and forks. We had fun dividing things up. All of us agreed the best dish was the Dijon Chicken, followed closely by the Butternut Squash Ravioli. These received an A+ and an A respectively. The Veal Piccota was a strong B with a good citrus taste. But the Paella was not up to the other three dishes. The wine was good with all the dishes. Our desserts were the lemon tart (not on the menu but it seems to be there whenever we go) and the semifreddi. The tart is really nice with a tart taste that gets cut with the wiped cream. The semifreddi is espresso ice cream with wiped cream. Good but not creative. The ice cream was smooth and free of ice crystals. The waitress had fun with us. We asked for a lot and she was on the spot with good, friendly service. We have eaten there before and she thought she recognized us. After we paid, when the restaurant had slowed down, we had a bit of a conversation with her about this and that, which was nice. All in all, a good evening.
We love eating here as the food is fantastic and the staff provides outstanding service.
They serve the best seafood jambalaya and salmon dill pasta.
When I have a craving for spaghetti and meatballs I prefer Pasta Primavera over Chow or Mary's Pizza Shack
our server is always in a hurry when she serves us.. like when i ask something 2 items, she only hears the first and left... then we waited for our server for our bill that takes like about 7-10 minutes, then 7-10 minutes to pay,,,,
Delicious Italian food with attentive service. I especially like the veal saltimbocca - I have it every time I eat here. Also very good desserts.
Have not been in awhile, but glad we did. Food is always very good and hot. Our server was top notch and other staff also very attentive. Highly recommend this restaurant.
