we have been going to Pasta Moon for over 10 years ,and have never been disappointed.Everything from the first glass of water ,to the dessert and coffee is always special.
I absolutely love Pasta Moon! Their food is incredible, and the service is always extremely friendly. I'll keep coming back every time I go to Half Moon Bay!
Our favorite spot in Half Moon Bay. The food is excellent, as are the cocktails. Great for a meal with friends or a date night.
Had not been here for a decade or more. It's much, much larger, but food and service were great in the expanded space.
I WANTED TO TAKE MY FIANCE OUT TO LUNCH FOR HER BIRTHDAY AND I AM SO GLAD I PICKED THIS PLACE, THE FOOD WAS GREAT AND THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT
Wonderful for any occasion. Only restaurant worth the drive to Half Moon Bay just for a meal.
Friendly and attentive serving staff. Home made pasta and pancetta plate very good. Recommend the asparagus appetizer too.
Awesome place, glad we chose it... Was an amazing Mother's Day menu!
We were so excited to try Pasta Moon, as we had heard good things. We had a horrible experience. We were neglected the entire night. We never got our appetizer and when they brought out the salads I said we haven't got the app, and they wouldn't return the salads and bring the app. The app came and it was over fried. The entree was nice, but after 1.5 hrs it should be. I did grab the manager to ask what was happening because we were shocked at how bad the service was that night. I had to request bread and oil, while the people next to us got theres about 5 min prior, but were seated after us. I asked for a very cold manhattan, it was luke warm. They did buy our dessert, and salad that we shared. Big deal. It was such a poor experience we would never recommend nor return. Such a disappointment.
Pre Mother’s Day dinner. Was there early had to wait more then 20 min past our reservation. We were seated in the back of the restaurant with a small table designed for 4 people max. There was six in our party. The bad part the French doors was wide open. It was cold for my mother and we ask to close it. Was told it was too hot and stuffy. So we ate dinner with our coats on. Very uncomfortable to enjoy the food when your cold. Overall, give it 1 star.
came across this gem of a restaurant a couple of years back on a trip to HalfMoon Bay.
Food is great , ambiance is great overall a great place to dine. Highly recommend !!!!!!
The only thing the surpassed the service, was the food. Desserts were also amazing
Went with daughter and son-in-law for an early Mother's Day lunch on Saturday. Food was excellent and the service was superb. No rushing, beautifully decorated and comfortable restaurant with lots of natural light and beautiful art on the walls. Private room in the back would be great for a small party or business meeting. We'll be back soon I hope!
Attention to detail from the bread, soup, and charcuterie board. Excellent!
Pizza was just ok, salad was nice. Butternut squash with brown butter Ravioli was greasy outside, filling was good. Dessert was amazing though.
Food was great but service was very slow and disorganized. Cheesecake with marscapone was to die for.

Delightful! Has become a regular favorite for lunch with friends who drive from San Francisco and me, who drives up from Santa Cruz. Delicious food, never hurried with great service too.
Love, love, LOVE this place. Perfect for a date night. It can be as casual as you like or as fancy as you like. It's the perfect spot. Food is fantastic, service is wonderful, cocktails are fun and crafted with care, and the ambiance is warm and inviting.
Poor service and inconsistent meal.
Ok but used to be much better. Menu needs a refresh new Decor is great
Wonderful experience for my father’s 80th birthday. Server was very nice and accommodating. Food always delicious here. Highly recommend.
Typical great dinner.
Food is above average. Restaurant is known for its homemade pastas. Prices are a little steep for what you are getting cost to value wise. Table for 2, you won't get out of there for under $60. Most people don't want to drop this kind of cash on a casual weeknight dinner for pasta. Add wine and their over priced $12 desserts and it quickly skyrockets. Its good, but not great.
Great food, very fresh ingredients and well prepared. Nice atmosphere with attentive service.
We very much enjoyed our meal-we were seated right away-it was crowded but efficient-the food was very good and the wait staff very pleasant .
Wonderful atmosphere, creative menu, fresh local ingredients, plenty of options for vegetarians. Everything was really tasty and fresh. Great wine list. Excellent choice of desserts. Gelato w/expresso was perfectly refreshing. Friendly, attentive staff; friendly attentive owner. Highly, highly recommended.
We had a group of four and got a nice table near the windows. The food is Italian and quite good. It was busy, but service was good, although it was somewhat noisy. Portions were quite large and some of the offerings came in half sizes, which were plenty. This is a good option in Half Moon Bay.
After coping with traffic from Berkeley for 1-1/2 hrs. for a midweek lunch, I am happy to report that it was well worth the effort of battling the Nasty Nimitz. But then it always is when we wind up at Pasta Moon. A bottle of reasonably priced prosecco got our heart rates down and our waitress, Vicky, suggested that we order in courses to see how just hungry we were and how the servings were sized to fit our appetites. The fritto misto is one of our long time favorites to share as an appetizer, though occasionally we have ordered it as a main course. Following, Vicky suggested a half serving of The Pasta Moon clam chowder. Mistake - we should have ordered a full size serving; it is one of the best clam chowders I have had. (being a home cook I prepare it myself from time to time) Lots of clams, Yukon gold potatoes (cooked slightly firm) and a lovely creamy broth with plenty of butter and cream in it, garnished with a whole clam. My wife ordered the eggplant lasagna as a main course and loved it; I ordered the papardelle (the memory of which keeps drawing me back to Pasta Moon). It is their signature dish, prepared with a tomato based sauce, wild mushrooms, pancetta and pine nuts. Yikes, it's almost vegetarian! Ahhh, but good anyway :o).
Double espressos concluded our meal. Vicky, as well as the hostess were attentive and personable. Fortified, we drove home the long way across the Golden Gate Bridge and got home in time for the cocktail hour.
PS: the clientele is a mixed bag and I mean that kindly. Some seniors, some millenials with infants, some business people, some workers from a construction crew and an occasional tourist or two. It is quiet enough to conduct a conversation (at lunch anyway) the chairs are comfortable; cloth napkins and very nice wine glasses.
Outstanding food and great service. Kudos Chef Kim! (And what a gem in server assistant Randall)
We were pleasantly surprised how absolutely delicious our meal was. Everything from the appetizers to the pasta was perfect. We can't wait to go back and try the pizza. Our pasta special with scallops and speck was spectacular.
Our waiter was kind and kept just the right amount of distance.
We came here for a 70th birthday celebration and had one gluten-free person in our party. The service was great and the food was excellent. I would definitely come here again.
Excellent food, great customer service.
the reason for 3 stars for the service was that my wife ordered a Martini at the same time that I ordered a beer, I received my beer and 10 minutes later I asked the waiter were was the Martini, he forgotten that she ordered a Martini
plus when he brought the food to the table he stopped short of putting the food on the table and said wait then turned around and talk to someone 🙁
As a long-time fan of Pasta Moon, I am happy to report that the food and the service remain excellent. A great destination in Half Moon Bay.
Pasta Moon is our favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. The cuisine, wine, and service are superb. And the friendly, relaxed atmosphere always makes us feel welcome. Thank you!
Good not great. They changed the pork chop. Felt steamed not grilled. They are consistently a good spot but we're off tonight. Still a good spot for a date.
We were very fortunate to have Marcos as our server. He provided excellent service and created a memorable event.
okay - for dinner - noticing either the waiter or table attendant should have cleaned the table of bread crumbs, etc when they clear the main plates. We subsequently had dessert too and the waiter simply placed the serving over the crumbs. Prior dinners the waiter did wipe the table clean before placing utensils. In addition, one of the salads we had and the Lemon Parfait is shrinking in size. If anything, there should be some consistency/standard - call it a standard of quality - maybe the chef was having an off day. Otherwise, I'll still come by.
Awesome as always. Great food and service.
