Cozy place on the coast with great food and excellent service. It was my wife's birthday and they sang to her! We always love going to Pasta Moon.
We had a lovely date night at our favorite Coastside restaurant. As always, the food was exceptional (we both opted for daily specials), capped with the always toothsome Meyer lemon parfait.
My wife and I had our date night here. Kim (the owner), is a genius. We love coming here when we are on the coast. The food is fresh and amazing, every time we go. My wife had the stuffed pork chop and I had the pappardelle. We shared the asparagus appetizer. All delicious!
Never disappoints...exceptional favorites stay on the menu, but always great seasonal and/or local additions as specials. Even on a Thursday evening there was a full house.
Our favorite for exceptionally tasty
food and professional and welcoming
We are visiting from Laguna Beach to celebrate our 3 year anniversary and after reading the reviews at Pasta Moon, we decided to try it for ourselves! WOW! This place in incredible! We are such foodies- always trying to find the best places and this is definitely one of them! The restaurant looks redone, hip, yet still very sophisticated. The hostess greeted us and was so sweet! Our server, Luis, did an outstanding job! He made great recommendations and was very attentive and had a great personality. The food was out of this world! We had their house made sausage pizza, Caesar salad, half lasagna & the pappardelle pasta (my fav)! We cannot wait to come back and eat here again. We will make sure to tell everyone we know to come here!
There are simply no weaknesses on the menu.
Every dish I've had (now between 15 and 20) was delicious.
It takes some time to get there from SF or the East Bay,
but it is well worth it.
The food was fantastic, service was great and they made my friend feel special on her birthday.
Best lasagna ever! Our dishes were delicious and the service was great.
We had a wonderful evening. Our server, Vicky, was very helpful in finding a gluten free and dairy free option that was amazing! She also recommended a vegan chocolate ice cream for dessert, which was the best non-dairy ice cream I have ever tasted. It is made on site and is super creamy, especially considering there is no actual milk in it! I would highly recommend Pasta Moon
Absolutely no vegan pasta options. Thought I ordered vegetarian turns out I accidentally ate bacon. Everything overpriced. They make you pay for birthday mini desert. My boyfriend didn’t like the ravioli at all it had to return it. It was like coated in sugar tasted like candy. We ended up eating one bite then returning our dishes. Bought drinks and that was it.
Always a great meal. Need to make reservations as it is always packed. Sometimes you can get lucky last minute, and get seating in the bar which offers the full menu too.
Lovely food exceptional service. Spacious rooms and interesting menu.
Lunch. We always come to pasta moon when we travel to Northern California. Never disappointed. Homemade pasta is delicious. We each got a different dish. I had the special with lemon cream sauce and crab ate it to the last bite. Service is friendly and attentive. We have been eating here for over 20 years.
We have been coming here for 15 years, and it has always been consistently top-notch in every category starting with the bread, to the dessert and coffee.
I have been a long time fan of Pasta Moon, having frequented the restaurant since it opened. This is the first time I have been disappointed in both the service and the food. I ordered the linguine with crab in a lemon creme sauce. The pasta was barely warm, over cooked and stuck together as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The crab was ice cold; it was clear it had been taken out of the refrigerator and immediately added on top of the pasta. There was no lemon flavor to the sauce, it tasted only of creme. I was unimpressed with the salad, it was not dressed evenly. Regarding the service, we waited more than 15 minutes in between each course.
I hope this was a one time event and not an indication of the future.
Very welcoming when we checked in, reservation ready, not rushed. Food was excellent. Good wine list. Great for a special occasion (but no complimentary dessert).
Great food. One of my favorite restaurants.
As usual the food was outstanding. Enjoyed the grilled scallop salad and to-die-for lasagne.
Be sure to try the Meyer lemon dessert confection--heavenly!
Everything was great as always! However, I didn’t particularly care for the linguine special with fennel and crab. My husband tried it and loved it so he ended up sharing his lasagna.
Notice there's a number of new staff - probably need a little more training and/or be more attentive. Otherwise, foods good.
Food was great but server seemed hurried and uninterested.
Small portions, very expensive
Restaurant was a bit under staffed but waiter worked very hard and managed to be pretty responsive. Portion sizes small given the prices. Food quality was good but not great, Wish had more CA wine selection and wine by the glass pours was smaller than standard (perhaps 5 ounces),
We have been going to Pasta Moon for over 10 years and now our young children are asking for it regularly. Their special menu items are nice and worthwhile. Although their Fritto Misto have been shrinking in size and protein items over time (now we barely get a few calamari and mostly onion slices or fennel). Shared between the 5 of us (3 are young children), I never even tasted any of the calamaris - and they used to have small shrimps which now is not in the dish at all.
Otherwise, the children loved their butter pasta (pasta is home made) - and asked for a 2nd helping. Our dishes were good also (risotto and crab linguine).
We were in HMB for 5 days and Pasta Moon and Dad’s Luncheonette were definitely our favorites.
3 hosts at the door all trying to help you but it’s chaos. One of them is a rude, grumpy man double checking everything two young women is doing and talking over.
Service is by an overly energetic waiter. Asks questions, but doesn’t listen to answers. You end up with drinks you did not order and get charged for them. Your order of a salad and two pastas get verified three times, well because he wasn’t listening. Wonder what he was scribbling to that pad.
Food? Mediocre ravioli soaking in melted butter. Huge lasagna compensating for dull taste.
Loud. Tables are so close to each other you can hear conversation from both tables. Good luck having a relaxed chat with your company.
We were staying at the Ritz and ventured into downtown HMB. This restaurant was exactly what we were looking for! The specials were amazing and so was their lasagna! The owner was so nice and welcoming! Would definitely recommend if you are in the area!
Everything was wonderful. Always a pleasure to dine here!
Good ingredients, well prepared, excellent house made pastas
It was Valentines Day lunch and, while many tables in unused rooms in the back did have a simple small vase with flower(s) on the tables, the tables with patrons had no special decoration at all. Overpriced.
The service was excellent. Greeter in the front was cordial and the busboy and waiter were extremely attentive, prompt and friendly. Food was, as we've come to expect here, well prepared and delicious. Good choice of wines and warm, hospitable ambiance. We'll be back again when visiting the Peninsula and the coast. In summary, very well worth it.
Good food, good service. Ordered a combination not on the menu and was graciously accommodated.
This is a favorite go to restaurant for everyday and special occasions.
Pasta moon was amazing from the ambiance, to the excellent waiter, and the well seasoned food. I have no complaints at all it was the perfect date setting.
Excellent, as always - food, cocktails and service.
Unfortunately, Pasta Moon didn’t live up to its reputation. Good things were sausage pizza, and Italian bread soup. Both were delish! Lasagna way too salty and cheesy. Clam appetizer had no flavor. Service was nonexistent, and when we arrived we mentioned we were celebrating a birthday. No dessert arrived after dinner. Not worth the money spent. Won’t be coming back.
We went with another couple and had a a delicious meal. The size of the salmon stuffed with crab and the cioippino were a little smaller than expected, but all the food we ordered was delicious: Fritto Misto (we 4 shared it); Pappardelle Pancetta; plus the two specials. The desserts were divine: butterscotch pudding and meyer lemon parfait. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. All round a lovely time. The restaurant is broken up into several different rooms -- making a large restaurant seem smaller and friendlier than it would be otherwise.
We had a reservation at 7:15, yet had a long wait for a table.
We had a lovely birthday dinner. There were 4 in our party. The reservation was seamless and the staff thoughtfully reserved a table in the quieter part of the restaurant The margarita I ordered was okay but nothing special. The pasta however was outstanding. I tasted 3 of the pasta dishes ordered. Both the parppardelle & tagliatelle were absolutely delicious. I also had the trout salad as my entree. The fish was tasty with free salad greens & a light dressing that did not overwhelm the fish. Our waiter was very attentive but not intrusive. We will definitely return to Pasta Moon
