About Pasta Freska
Dinner at Pasta Freska Italian Restaurant is based on Chef Mike Horri's "Have it your way" philosophy! We truly are a unique and fun Seattle restaurant - Chef Mike comes to your table, asks questions, has a little fun and makes sure he delivers a great dining experience. Truly unique Italian comfort food. You won't go away hungry. Do you maybe just want to have one entree and with a salad, you can do that too.
Typically the way our dinner works is start with a salad and appetizer then we are ready to start the dinner, so you should expect to the dinner to last about an hour and a half. You should expect one dish of differents kinds of Pasta, Seafood and chicken.
We do accommodate larger parties as well.

Check your bill before you pay it. The owners son decided to add $50,00 to my bill and not tell me he did?? Until
I questioned him and he said he would take it off the bill? Why would he not confront me before giving me the bill

Overall good experience. There’s something liberating about letting the kitchen make the decisions. For two of the three of us got appetizer, salad then a lot of pasta dishes and were too full before getting a meat dish in the rotation; maybe because it was a busy Friday night?
My wife and I first time and we will be going back and taking friends with us. What a remarkable dining experience. It reminds me of dining in Europe where you own the table for as long as needed. There is no rushing here, quite the opposite. Dinner will take 1 1/2 hours, so don't bother hurrying off. Food and service was wonderful, plenty of food, maybe too much. We were both stuffed when we left and they continue to bring out different dishes. No menu so you get what they serve [6 course dinner] and they leave the bill. Dinner for 2 with 3 glasses of wine each was $110+tip. A bargain in Seattle.
This is unique dining experience without a menu. The chef asks if there is anything you can't eat then surprises you with a fabulous meal. You don't know what it all costs until you get the bill, but it's reasonable for the food and service. I will go back.
Love this place,it was my wife's birthday and Chef Mike prepared a special dish for her as she didn't want Chicken and he made crab stuffed Manacoti. Everything from the salad to desert was superb and wine was matched to our taste. Birthday dinner for two under $90 with wine you can't beat the price, quality and fun. Word of caution this is for the adventurous who want to take time and enjoy their dinnet
My family and I are regulars at Pasta Freska, and this time, we brought along a guest. All of us were impressed and fulfilled by the six courses we were served plus the delicious dessert. We shared two bottles of great red wine that the servers picked out for us. We left extremely satisfied as usual after a terrific meal at Pasta Freska!
This place is amazing ! So glad we were referred to Pasta Freska. This was our second visit and I am sure we will be back many more times. The food is amazing and the service appropriately attentive. The combination of the two truly makes for a relaxed dining experience.
They just brought food and never let us see a menu and never told us a price. We got an appetizer of clams and shrimp, then came cheese covered egg plant, then crab and spinach stuffed manicotti, then spaghetti. All were good but I would have preferred to have an entire order of what I wanted. The ticket was $96 for two people. I think they need to tell you that before.
Really fun restaurant but not for picky eaters. There is no menu. The chef or one of the waiters comes over and finds out if you have any food allergies or dislikes and they alter their offerings to suit your news. Basically, the chef prepares a family style meal for the whole restaurant but will tailor it to suit your taste. The food was delicious and the chef was very helpful in preparing food for our two young daughters.
The food was delicious; however, my family and I were expecting a menu and did not receive one. They gave us a surprise meal(which was a good experience), but this also affected the cost. We did not what we were getting to eat and my younger brother could not eat most of the stuff. Overall, the food is delicious.
We were recommended to this place by a local. The gist is that the chef interviews each guest to determine likes, dislikes, allergies and capacities. Our dishes were perfectly tailored to our tastes, though it was still more food than we needed. Nevertheless we ate it all! What does that say?
The chef himself was absent, disappointingly, though our server took our info quite effectively, and their sous chef of 30 years handled the cooking honors beautifully.
We could have sat outside on the patio but street noise was more than we wanted to deal with. The table we got inside was next to a huge window viewing the busy 7:30pm traffic, with direct sunlight on us. That was not very atmospheric. The only other table would have been next to a slightly loud-speaking group so we weighed the options and chose the bright table by the streetside window.
All in all, a nice experience and different approach, and despite the diminished vibe, we would go back.
This is our favorite Italian restaurant. We have been here for more than 5 times, and we were impressed every time. We tend to go back every two weeks to enjoy the evening with excellent food and Italian wine. It reminds us of dining in a nice and quiet restaurant in Italy. The quality of food is outstanding, while the amount of food is very generous. We love this restaurant.
Pasta Freska is one of a kind. Dinner is anything chef Mike thinks of for that day. Everyone gets the same thing, although timing is staggered according to when people come in. I think there were five courses plus dessert. They were all good. Chef Mike is omnipresent, talking to each table at least three times during the course of the evening. The restaurant is on a triangular lot, so is piece of pie shaped, with an out the back door and up the steps rooftop dining area for the summer. Wine is whatever Mike has that evening. If the place sounds a little off the wall, it is, but with good food, a friendly chef/owner, and no fufu. Great evening. We've been here three times, and will be back.
this experience is so unique, since there is no dinner menu, just great food, hand crafted, personalized to your tastes. We reserved a table for 3 after girls happy hour, and when 1 of the husbands, who loves this restaurant, jumped in the car to join us, the staff didn't wince when he showed up 2 courses in; just caught him up with food & wine! I'm a repeat customer, because Chef/owner Mike Hori works not only at creating great food, but also at making your night meaningful.
The food here was good but not great. The service was abysmal. I had a reservation on OpenTable and I told them that and they didn't seem to hear me or care or something- they were pretty nasty to us at the front door. I'm pretty sure my table remained open the entire night, meanwhile, I had to wait about an hour at the front until another table opened up. We were completely ignored so I couldn't even nag someone that the empty table sitting in the back *was* mine. When we were finally seated, the empty table in the back remained empty for another hour or so until I guess they gave up on holding it for someone that was already seated.
Pasta Freska always has wonderful, flavorful entrees paired well with great wines. We love that there is no ordering- the great food and wine just keep coming! Mike always goes out of his way to greet us and makes occasions memorable. The deck is fun for summer evenings. We will continue to come back for such a great experience!
Great experience for my family! Chef came out and talked to us about what we liked, didn't and then gave us the most savory dishes. Be prepared to relax and enjoy! This is not a quick meal and we absolutely loved it and have already recommended it to a friend working out in Seattle right now.
The experience, food, and service were AMAZING! I appreciated Michael's approach. He asks you if there was anything you cannot eat. Then the food starts rolling out...vino, perfectly dressed salad, freshly made eggplant parmigiana, manicotti packed with ricotta and spinach, spaghetti and meat sauce, garlic bread, frutti di mare, and a dessert trio. Best $50 I've ever spent on a meal. Can't rave enough about this place. Quaint place surrounded by roses outside, so warm and inviting. If you are ever in WA, eat here.
A fantastic and unique restaurant. There is no menu: you walk in and they start serving you. You're wondering what's next and when it will stop. We were served seven courses: salad and garlic bread, an eggplant Parmesan-style dish, a shellfish mix, lasagna, chicken Marsala, salmon and a white fish, a steak sample...and then dessert: spumoni, chocolate cake, and a crème brûlé. All this for about $30/person.
Mike is an amazing host to all of his customers. We live out of State and visit Seattle 4-5 times a year and always make Pasta Freska one of our stops with our friends who travel with us as well as friends we have in Seattle. This restaurant is a hidden gem! The food is always amazing and the plates never stop coming. No menu! He surprises his guests with a variety of small plates that make you excited for the next one. Mike just wants to know if there is anything you don't like. And the wine never stops flowing. We Definitely recommend this place...you will not be disappointed!
I used to love PF. They have no menu. They just start bringing food and interactions with Mike we're great. The food doesn't change much, so I don't go very often but it's always fun. But this last visit was a disappointment. I took some work colleagues and visitors for dinner and the service was slow, the food limited (fewer portions than usual) and the bill expensive. For $80/head including wine and tip, I expect a lot more.
