Consistently great food and service! The wine list is great and without inflated prices. A trip to Pacific Grove without dining at Passionfish is a big mistake. The avocado and crab salad is out of this world!
Great food! Great service! Food is very inventive and amazing flavors!!
Extremely covid friendly. Food was great! Would recommend to any visiting the area.
I have eaten here several times. This place is fantastic! It is worth a special trip.
Great food and people. A must do. Had shallots and a lovely white wine. Yummy biscuit too.
Out doors It was cold The food was hot my wife got
the black cod (very bland) and the warm sprout salad
it was very bland as well. I had the crab salad and the duck both were very good
I enjoy the casual vibe, the food is always well executed and delicious in a comfortable setting. The atmosphere is remarkably elegant given the constraints of the pandemic.
I appreciate the safety protocols as much as I do the wine list. We have been coming here for years and will continue do so.
Check in was a bit awkward due to COVID. The way the protocols were presented could be more hospitable and less like a school principal laying down the rules. It started us off with a bad taste. The staff was lovely and the food as always on point.
Attention to details, menu and service always excel at Passionfish!
We had the albacore and the scallops and they were both excellent!
e were greeted by name with a personalized menu since it was our anniversary'
Because of COVID restrictions we were seated outside. it was a cold and windy evening but there were plenty of heaters to keep us comfortable.
The food was fabulous as always!
I had the lamb breast stew - so yummy! my husband had the fish stew and black cod, all good! the service was excellent.
We were worried that it might be too cold to eat outside in mid-February but we were toasty warm. Food and staff really top notch. Great Valentine's dinner for us.
Amazing food
I’ve been here twice and was underwhelmed both times. The biscuits are divine! The crab salad had too powerful of a dressing and it drowned out the fresh crab. The cod had very little flavor. Our server and the outdoor experience were great.
Absolutely wonderful food and great service. Great wine list as well. They’ve figured out how to create a responsible, sustainable menu that tastes amazing. You won’t regret choosing this place.
We never swing by the Monterey / Carmel area without visiting our favorite restaurant. We were lucky to get a table for our family Valentine’s Day dinner and as usual the meal was fantastic. The new two level outdoor seating area was gorgeously done and the staff has extremely high social distancing protocols in place.
My new wife and I had our first dinner as man and wife here. Their outdoor space was cold, but they accommodated with heaters and the spacing was good as to not give you the creeps nowadays. Our server was great. Don’t miss the biscuits or the crab salad.. I could have those for a meal and be happy.
Being a multiple visit customer, I was quite saddened by the Brussel sprout salad. Nothing about it seems to work together. Yes, bacon and brussel sprouts pair nicely, not so much the ham. The grapes should not have been there at all. Halved sprouts would have worked better than shaved. I was also under impressed with the lamb, couple pieces of bone and such, having got this dish regularly, it was a disappointment this time. The wine was an amazing value!! As usual, the scallops were cooked perfectly! Banana pudding was amazing! Staff as usual were top shelf!
As always our time at Passionfish was excellent. Good food, great service, and love the fact that they don't mark wine up much.
We had a great meal on 2/8/21. We ate outdoors under a warm heater. Our server was very helpful. Everything was delicious especially the biscuits!
Great food and service! It’s so nice to be out again. The heaters are great and you don’t mind the cool PG air. We had the duck, fish stew, the Brussel sprouts salad was awesome!! Oh, and you must have a biscuit!
Amazing food. Amazing staff. Such a beautiful and relaxing evening.
Everything about our experience at Passionfish was superlative. Despite the constraints of Covid and rain, both food and service were warm, swift, and creative. The wine list is excellent as well. Our first experience on Friday night was so impressive that we asked for a reservation the following night. They managed not only to accommodate us but a repeat performance.
Great food. Great service. A bit pricey. But overall a very nice experience. I will go again in the future.
Passion Fish is always a wonderful treat and the staff has outdone themselves with providing a pleasurable dining experience while still following all of current health mandates. There were 3 adults in our party, we ordered the warm Brussels sprout salad, mixed greens, spicy fish stew, spoonable lamb breast, and halibut. Each dish was perfectly prepared and delicious. Next time, we will leave room for dessert!
We enjoyed dining upstairs on the deck above the restaurant. It was pleasantly warm from the heaters and sheltered from the wind.
We go here almost once a year, for my birthday. I do wish they’d change their menu a little over the years, but it’s good. This time, during the pandemic, we ate up on another deck outside which was the only possibility. It was a cold night, but it was OK. On this evening the dessert was better than the dinner, but they were both good.
We felt safe eating here. Socially distanced 6'+ in all directions, waiters wore masks and we were asked to put masks over our face whenever staff approached. Bring extra layers since winds shift.
Heat lamps were necessary as it was cold but eating upstairs on the deck with umbrellas,
some plants, and festive lighting made the experience welcoming.
We had a delicious dinner on a very chilly night! I wore long underwear and a wool sweater and had a blanket on my lap, so was comfy and cozy! Go prepared!! The heaters are a big help. My husband and I started with the trout and broccoli, and had halibut and scallops for our mains. We loved the new-to-us flavor combinations! The staff takes COVID-19 very seriously, which we appreciate. A wonderful dining experience all the way around.
Hard to have ambiance when it is freezing cold and we are eating outside. Everything was appropriately distanced. Buttermilk biscuits were to die for and we enjoyed the black bean and goat cheese fritters. An order is 3 small fritters.
I ordered the halibut. The fish itself was excellent but the accompaniments lacked. The baby carrots were undercooked and still hard. There was also some type of grain served which detracted from, rather than enhanced, the halibut.
My husband ordered a crab salad which did not impress whatsoever.
Overall we were disappointed. We have been to this restaurant before but this visit did not measure up.
The food was excellent, creative and unique. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. The venue was ok, outdoors because of Covid, so kind of cold but the heaters made it tolerable. Wpuld definitely go back again.
Have not been here in awhile, but it was as good as we remembered it to be. Wine list was lovely as always, fish delicious and given the the ambiance was romantic.
The wait staff and food at Passionfish were outstanding; it just happened to be an extremely cold and windy evening to eat outdoors (no fault of the restaurant's). We look forward to another meal, indoors, in the near future.
Food was fresh but nothing outstanding. Service was attentive and they do take Covid health and safety seriously which impressed us. Overall we enjoyed the experience with outdoor dining at this restaurant
Third time eating at Passionfish and it was outstanding, as always! They are doing a great job dealing with limited capacity and the staff retained their smiles, even while treking up and down those stairs a million times per night! It was a really fun meal and for a brief moment felt like back to normal!
This restaurant is working hard to keep everyone healthy and extremely well fed.
They’ve moved to outdoor dining on the balcony just above the restaurant. COVID protocols and heaters are in place. Ambiance is fantastic. The cuisine was terrific as usual. They’ve adapted beautifully and the wine list is stellar as usual. We’ll be back foe sure.
Interesting menu, excellent food well presented. Great, friendly staff.
The menu presents a wide range of possibilities that would meet the most descimanating palate. Our party chose a seafood and vegetarian entree, both delectable and exqusitely presented by our cordial server. The dessert menu was irresistible and our table was adorned with creme brulee, a die for bread pudding that would humble an English noble. All accompanied by Bubbly as I reca ll. Our request for an intimate table was met beyond our expectations. We are blessed to have The Passion Fish and its' superb staff to celebrate many family events over the years and will continue to do so!
Because of Covid, it was outdoor dining, and the weather was cold, but there was a heater nearby and, as always, it was an excellent meal.
