We had an amazing dinner at Passionfish. It has a commitment to sustainable food and is located in the lovely little town of Pacific Grove. Our server, Amanda, was very attentive and helpful. We started with the calamari salad, the mixed green salad.and the biscuits. Warning - the biscuits are delicious but big - you can split one. I had the scallops which were delicious - perfectly browned on top and moist inside. My husband had the albacore and said it was the best tuna ever! And for dessert we had the chocolate mont mud pie which was to die for. And they have an amazing, well priced wine list.one of our best dinners in a while and we highly recommend Passionfish!
Always amazing food! Great service! Awesome wine selection
Friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable staff. The food is scrumptious - some portions are small and leave you with wanting more. Specially the starter plates.
Not bad, but food was just OK. Service was Meh. Great location, but had the feeling that it was catering to an older crowd with bland palates.
Amazing food with helpful and attentive wait staff. Would def go back.
The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. We got a few appetizers, split an entree, got a dessert, and a half bottle of wine and walked out under $150 and full. It was very busy and tables were a bit close together, but it was a saturday night. Would recommend the scallop app ( it only came with one...) and the biscuit. Overall, a nice date night experience.
Amazing food made with fresh local ingredients. Service is spot on with the stafff being efficient and knowledgeable. And don’t miss the biscuits.
Local seafood! Personable service with spot on recommendations! Great food! Awesome desserts. This is maybe my sixth time here...always come back when i am in town for our annual conference!
We eat here every time we go to the Carmel area. Food is always great
Passionfish always delivers! Delicious seafood every visit. Impressive wine list as well. We visit every time we are in Pacific Grove!
Wonderful experience! We loved the food (scallops, duck confit)!
My wife and I love this place. We come here every time we visit to Pacific Grove. Highly recommend!
This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had!!
The crab salad, the biscuit... really anything we've eaten there...has been outstanding. Our favorite restaurant
Delicious food, excellent service. We had the sea scallop appetizer which was good, the warmed Brussels sprout salad, which was amazing, the lamb entree—so tender—and the artic char—good but not our favorite. We shared the lemon panacotta dessert—wow. We aren’t wine drinkers, but they had a huge menu and prided themselves on the selection. My only suggestion is to have a more readable menu.
Consistently good food and excellent service. Never disappoints no matter how often you return.
I'm very grateful to Passionfish for giving me a table where I requested. After so many years of sitting by the bathroom, it was a wondering setting in the front room. Food excellent - I will be returning for many quality meals. Thank you.
The salads were delicious, the scallops were the best I have ever had, the wines were reasonably priced and the service staff was very professional. One of our favorite restaurants.
Excellent service, excellent food. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and Valentine's Day at Passion Fish and had a great time. Glad they serve sustainable wine as well as sustainable seafood.
We had a delicious dinner and great service. Ambient noise was a little high and wine by the glass a little pricey.
Great wine list. Valentine dinner and the place was packed. We shared the crab salad, interesting melange of tastes. I had the Arctic Char in a light red curry sauce over mashed parsnips. It was lovely. My husband had the Cod; wonderful Asian fusion. Creative menu with subtle hints of flavors that went well together, not overwhelming, heavy, or ponderous. Service was good, friendly waitress and hostesses. The place to go for special dinners. We were not disappointed.
From start to finish, each bite was just perfect. Very few restaurant can offer the perfect bite over and over again. Well worth being on our scheduled gastronomic 3000 mile journey.
Prompt and excellent service. Quiet, romantic atmosphere and delicious food. Love this restaurant.
Excellent food and wine. Would highly tecommenf
The entire menu is to die for!!! We shared 2 appetizers-scallops and fried oysters. Both perfectly cooked and presented. The artichoke risotto cake(with the scallops)was life-changing! I'll be working on a recreation! Really could have just eaten from the apps! Dinner was sesame pepper crusted ahi that was delish, but my husband's trout was a disappointment. Bland and dry. Should have sent it back. They offer many wines by splits-very savvy. After tasting wine all day really don't want a bottle with dinner! Perfect for us. The wait staff could not have been more attentive and expedient without rushing us. Took time answering questions on both food and wine. Will revisit again!
We had a wonderful dinner at Passionfish. The food was delicious from start to finish! We started with the buttermilk biscuit, which was light and warm and wonderful. For salad we had the brussels sprouts and the mixed green salad. Both were very tasty, and would be large enough to share. Our entrees were the rainbow trout and the arctic char. The basil sauce on the trout was especially excellent. For desert, we couldn't resist ordering both the banana bread pudding and the lemon panna cotta, and we finished both. Service was good, and the ambience was quiet and nice. I would highly recommend Passionfish.
Fabulous food but ambience was lacking. No flowers on tables or anything special.
Amazing food! I want to return as I am craving the fish I had for dinner!!
We thought the food was very good, although the waiter was extremely slow and we felt that he knew that the tip was included , so therefor, he was guaranteed 20%. BTW, we were a party of 6 and that is why the tip was included.
1/2 bottle list could be better. Not the best table, too close to the door with 45 degrees night and the bathrooms are far too small for the size of the crowd. We did get to meet several of the other patrons while waiting for our turn though.
We had a fantastic meal here and our waitress was great. The reason for the 4 star for service was that the hostess was exceptionally rude. We have 3 small kids and are from out of town, and we took a wrong turn on our way to the restaurant- I called to let them know we were running a few minutes late and was told they would hold our reservation for 15 minutes after the reservation time. We got there 10 minutes after our reservation time, and I checked in and said that I had called. The hostess literally looked me and my family up and down and said “okay... we will see what we can do “. I have worked as a hostess myself and I would never have treated anyone like that, especially not someone who was not that late and who had called. My husband was so offended by her tone that we almost left. I’m glad we stayed, our experience was otherwise great.
Sustainably sourced seafood! Fine dining at its most authentic! Flawless service! Passionfish is truly wonderful restaurant. I will go again and again, every time I visit the Monterey area.
We enjoyed the food but were very surprised to find out we had to pay for the bread?! The server could’ve been more attentive including offering reflling our beverages. Food was delicious!
Expensive for what you get, but nice for an evening out
Who doesn't love this place? The food artfully done and it tastes marvelous too. The service by people who care. Our server helped with the wine selection as there are so many to choose from.
Perhaps did not respond correctly to noise level. VERY loud.
Simply the best seafood restaurant in the Monterey Bay area. Food is exceptional and the wine list was in the finals of the James Beard competition for good reason. Their wine pricing policy has earned national attention and the service is, and has been after many visits, exceptional. Can't say enough about this wonderful restaurant.
Fabulous in every way. Exquisite food! Great service. Everyone loved it. We have recommended friends from as far away as Germany. They loved it so much, they went back a second night!
Only disappointment was in the attic char entree. It was under seasoned, and lacking the expected fresh clean flavor. Biscuit was outstanding as was the bread pudding,
I get charged a different price each time I go. The waitress was kind but not that help advising us what’s good here. And no bottled still water.
Food was outstanding, portions were plentiful.... there is jus something missing to make it a complete success
