The entire menu is to die for!!! We shared 2 appetizers-scallops and fried oysters. Both perfectly cooked and presented. The artichoke risotto cake(with the scallops)was life-changing! I'll be working on a recreation! Really could have just eaten from the apps! Dinner was sesame pepper crusted ahi that was delish, but my husband's trout was a disappointment. Bland and dry. Should have sent it back. They offer many wines by splits-very savvy. After tasting wine all day really don't want a bottle with dinner! Perfect for us. The wait staff could not have been more attentive and expedient without rushing us. Took time answering questions on both food and wine. Will revisit again!

We thought the food was very good, although the waiter was extremely slow and we felt that he knew that the tip was included , so therefor, he was guaranteed 20%. BTW, we were a party of 6 and that is why the tip was included.

1/2 bottle list could be better. Not the best table, too close to the door with 45 degrees night and the bathrooms are far too small for the size of the crowd. We did get to meet several of the other patrons while waiting for our turn though.

We had a fantastic meal here and our waitress was great. The reason for the 4 star for service was that the hostess was exceptionally rude. We have 3 small kids and are from out of town, and we took a wrong turn on our way to the restaurant- I called to let them know we were running a few minutes late and was told they would hold our reservation for 15 minutes after the reservation time. We got there 10 minutes after our reservation time, and I checked in and said that I had called. The hostess literally looked me and my family up and down and said “okay... we will see what we can do “. I have worked as a hostess myself and I would never have treated anyone like that, especially not someone who was not that late and who had called. My husband was so offended by her tone that we almost left. I’m glad we stayed, our experience was otherwise great.

Simply the best seafood restaurant in the Monterey Bay area. Food is exceptional and the wine list was in the finals of the James Beard competition for good reason. Their wine pricing policy has earned national attention and the service is, and has been after many visits, exceptional. Can't say enough about this wonderful restaurant.

Came with guests to do food and wine pairings. I think we ordered seven bottles (or half-bottles). Samantha was great server; she made excellent recommendations; and she made sure that we had enough glasses and they always had some wine in them. I know it wasn't easy, but she made it look effortless. She made the evening really memorable and enjoyable!

Food was delicious and priced within other Pacific Grove/Monterey Bay restaurants.
The service was impeccable. Our waitress was extremely helpful and informative and was always there to refill our wine glasses at exactly the right moment.
Our selections were cooked to perfection, hot on delivery and perfectly seasoned. The biscuits are an unpretentious gem and we ordered more than we should have and devoured them right down to the crumbs.
We braved the horrible rain and windy weather that the Bay Area was experiencing this past weekend and I can say that we were not disappointed. It is definitely a place that is at the top of my list for Monterey Bay restaurants. Happy eating!

The food at Passionfish over the many years we've been dining here is consistently excellent. The wine list is wonderful and reasonably priced. Fresh salads, not overdressed...fresh fish prepared with inventive sauces and sides....this poplar little place does get noisy when busy and the lighting isn't particularly sexy, but it's a gem and not to be missed. The only problem we had this last visit was my husband had to ask for a separate discard bowl for his mussel shells and no bread was served for the broth. The wait person told him he'd have to order a biscuit for an extra $2.00....kind of weird...

Having eaten an excellent meal there the week before, we decided to go back for our anniversary dinner. It was awesome to see Happy Anniversary printed at the top of our menu. Our servers were all very kind and attentive. Both our entries were absolutely delicious. A perfect choice to celebrate for us.
