Passerelle Bistro Ratings and Reviews
I brought my mother here for brunch on a Sunday. She is a former French teacher and I thought it would be fun for her. We are new to the area and have been trying out various places. Our table was right by the kitchen and the wait staff congregated there to have extended conversations. It was just distracting and a bit noisy. But while one of the young men who delivered food was up there he was picking his nose, flicking it, and then carrying plates out to tables. It just kind of grossed us out. My mom loved her French toast so the visit was overall very successful but not what I had hoped. I brought my mother here for brunch on a Sunday. This was a very standard French experince. Our guests were not accustomed to this type of dining. The beet salad, crusty bread and mussels were phenomenal. The steak frites were very chewy (also very French) were not popular!
The wine was awesome!! We will come back!
Great bistro atmosphere along the river. Despite being cold outside, the restaurant was warm and thriving. Good we very good - steak special was super. Shrimp appetizer was awesome. Would definitely come back when in town again, and hope for warm weather to enjoy the outdoor space along the river.
We enjoyed the food, the server was great, food tasted so good!
Cozy restaurant. Perfect for a date and special occasion. I highly recommend you to come to this place and enjoy it during Christmas time and Valentine’s Day. Location is good, right next to the bridge in Downtown Greenville. Me and my family had a great time there and planning to go back.
My wife’s food preferences are vegan and Passerelle’s chef accommodated them quite well with two very tasty dishes. I had some delicious sautéed scallops and a quite large serving of beautifully prepared steamed mussels. An altogether very satisfying meal for the both of us at a reasonable price which included a good bottle of Sauvignon Blanc.
The food has a French flair, and ingredients are totally fresh. I had a a main dish salad for lunch. It was made from arugula, white "fromage" (cheese), pickled strawberries,a honey pepper vinaigrette, and shrimp that I added as a protein. It was SO delicious and not like anything I've ever made myself. I am gluten free, and our wonderful server was very helpful and friendly in helping me select my order. My husband had a soup of the day and a "day after Thanksgiving" turkey sandwich with an aioli and sage, served on a very nice baguette---he said both were delicious. I wished I could visit Passerelle more often---we certainly will next time in town. the restaurant is charming and on a warm enough day, has beautiful outdoor dining overlooking the Reedy River. I made a reservation on Open Table and was glad I did!
My husband and I searched for a restaurant to take my 90 year old mother out for Sunday Brunch. I found Passerelle Bistro on Open Table and the menu looked perfect. My husband and I had Eggs Benedict and my Mom had the French Toast. We were all pleased with our choices. There was only one negative experience and this is not a direct reflection on the restaurant. I called ahead of time and asked about steps into the restaurant. My Mom is not handicapped but as I have already mentioned - she is 90 years old. We were told that there was an elevator outside the entrance to the park which would go down directly outside the restaurant. When we got there, it was out of order. We had to decide what to do. We did keep the reservation. My Mom made it down the steps without a problem but getting back up was difficult. Other than that, brunch was a wonderful experience.
It never ceases to amaze me how Passerelle delivers such wonderful cuisine. Everything I've ever had has been exquisite. This time around, I had friends visiting from out of town, and they're hoping to move to Greenville from Atlanta. Manager Michael was on point to help with wine selections... the service, the ambiance, the food... all were world-class!
We only saw our waiter one time before we got our food and it took nearly 40 minutes to get our food. We had to tell the manager about it and ask that he check on our order. Once we did that, everything started happening - the manager was great.
The portion of the niscoise salad was a bit small. I had asked the waiter if the portion was large and he assured me it was. I would've ordered something else along with it had I known.
Passerelle’s was a wonderful venue for our wedding reception dinner . The food was wonderful and the staff was exceptional in accommodating us when we arrived a little early for our reservation . I would also like to thank Soby’s for their contribution to our day by making a wonderful cake . Thanks to all involved .
I ordered the crab and shrimp appetizer. My tongue said, “Did I just taste that?” It was soooo good. No shame...I used all the bread to scoop up the lemon cream sauce. My husband ordered the lamb shank and still talked about it the next day. My 6-yr old devoured his mussels, an appetizer that is a meal size for him.
We had a dinner here before a performance at the Peace Center. We were lucky enough to be able to sit outside in their lovely terrace area. We enjoyed the sounds of the river with our meal, which was delicious. They offer half-bottles of wine which was perfect and their wine selection was ample. The service was attentive without being obtrusive and we left with plenty of time to walk to the performance and arrive on time.
