About Pascal's Manale

Founded in 1913, this family-run, Italian-Creole restaurant is located in uptown New Orleans. It is famous for creating barbecued shrimp.

This neighborhood restaurant is vintage New Orleans, from the service to the decor. The oyster bar always manned by a friendly shucker. The oysters are fresh, salty and delicious.

The old time oyster bar and cocktail bar offers raw oysters on the half shell and all types of cocktails. We offer fine seafood, Italian specialties and delicious steaks.

We went on a Monday night so the service was good and the food came out fast. The stuffed shrimp was very good. It was my wife's birthday, which was mentioned on Open Table, but nothing was done by the restaurant.

Returned after many years, and nothing has changed; and that's a good thing. BBQ Shrimp are a must, "invented" here decades ago. Fun to go early and have a dozen oysters on the half shell at the oyster bar while waiting for a table in the dining room. If you're into "traditional landmark" restaurants, Pascal's Manale is a must; "old school" dining in the Italian style.

Honestly the BBQ shrimp wasn’t that good. It’s whole shrimp. A lot of work for not a lot of meal. Also, I guess I was expecting them to be grilled, like on a BBQ. That said, they make their own horseradish. So spicy! Love it.

This was my first visit to Pascal's Manale. I had been intending to go for many years and finally was able to get there. My wife and I really enjoyed the whole experience from the atmosphere to the energy and of course the food was amazing. My favorite was the fried oyster appetizer with ham and hollandaise sauce. Now I want to return very soon and eat as many fried oysters as possible! My entree was a broiled fish over pasta and I would definitely get that one again, it was superb. Our waitress was great and very good at her job. I can confidently say that you will really enjoy yourself at this iconic New Orleans restaurant.

We were sent here to try the BBQ shrimp - and I'd highly recommend. The shrimp were delicious - messy and dripping with melted butter and spices. I normally don't eat dessert, but the bread pudding and key lime pie shouldn't be missed. Great food and wonderful service!

unfortunately the terrible service took away from how good the food is. it was clear that our table was not a priority and were forgotten for the most part. I dined here last year and had such a wonderful experience, that i chose to bring my close friends here while on vacation so they could have a special experience. this was a huge disappointment. i said something to the manager at the end of the night and he didn't even take responsibility other than explaining to me that the restauarant simply does not care about the service you receive because of their food. wow. i don't think I'll be able to dine here again.

We chose this NOLA classic for the first dinner of our first-ever visit to the city, and it made for a wonderful start, from the freshest caprese salad through the bbq shrimp (a must, friends had advised, and they were right!) to one of the best bread puddings of my partner's bread-pudding-loving life. The evening's experience was immeasurably enhanced by our gracious host Louie, a NOLA native, who somehow managed to serve with impeccable professionalism whilst engaging us (and no doubt others) in the liveliest of continuing conversations. Most crucial, he offered up—in writing—a number of NOLA recommendations that made our vacation even more memorable than it would have been, had we relied on our own non-native sources alone. (PS He also hooked me up with Lyft, which unexpectedly came in handy for trips outside the streetcar lines I came to love...)

A long time star in the Nola food scene. You can expect authentic cuisine, blended with some lovely Creole flavors. Definitely get the oysters Bienville - amazing. Great options including small plates and larger platters. Get more than you want, share it and take some home. The food will mostly reheat great. The service is great and it's popularity means you should make a res.

Good for locals and tourists. On a recent visit with out of towners it was difficult to find a menu which had enough variety. I stuck with my all time favorite, the barbecue shrimp. Others had pasta dishes. It was a bit noisy and when I had to change the number in our party from 5 to 4 the host had serious attitude. How is that possible? We are in New Orleans. Laissez les bon temps roller!

The room was so loud that the waiter was screaming to us the specials of the night.
I had 7:00 pm reservations and I called them to say I could be a few minutes late due to the traffic in town and my uber was coming ASAP. We arrived at 7:03. They put people that did not have reservations in front of us. At 7:30 pm we asked them why we were not being seated. They put us next to a table of 8 loud and close to being well intoxicated group but the room itself was way too loud for an enjoyable dinner. The BBQ shrimp is wonderful and our sever was great. It was the owners that didn’t handle patrons politely. There are way too many wonderful restaurants in New Orleans to be treated like this. Try GW Fins or Commander’s for a much more enjoyable evening.
