Pascal's Manale Ratings and Reviews
unfortunately the terrible service took away from how good the food is. it was clear that our table was not a priority and were forgotten for the most part. I dined here last year and had such a wonderful experience, that i chose to bring my close friends here while on vacation so they could have a special experience. this was a huge disappointment. i said something to the manager at the end of the night and he didn't even take responsibility other than explaining to me that the restauarant simply does not care about the service you receive because of their food. wow. i don't think I'll be able to dine here again.
A long time star in the Nola food scene. You can expect authentic cuisine, blended with some lovely Creole flavors. Definitely get the oysters Bienville - amazing. Great options including small plates and larger platters. Get more than you want, share it and take some home. The food will mostly reheat great. The service is great and it's popularity means you should make a res.
Good for locals and tourists. On a recent visit with out of towners it was difficult to find a menu which had enough variety. I stuck with my all time favorite, the barbecue shrimp. Others had pasta dishes. It was a bit noisy and when I had to change the number in our party from 5 to 4 the host had serious attitude. How is that possible? We are in New Orleans. Laissez les bon temps roller!
The room was so loud that the waiter was screaming to us the specials of the night.
I had 7:00 pm reservations and I called them to say I could be a few minutes late due to the traffic in town and my uber was coming ASAP. We arrived at 7:03. They put people that did not have reservations in front of us. At 7:30 pm we asked them why we were not being seated. They put us next to a table of 8 loud and close to being well intoxicated group but the room itself was way too loud for an enjoyable dinner. The BBQ shrimp is wonderful and our sever was great. It was the owners that didn’t handle patrons politely. There are way too many wonderful restaurants in New Orleans to be treated like this. Try GW Fins or Commander’s for a much more enjoyable evening.
Great atmosphere and great food. Our waitress, Donna ,has worked there for 15 years.. that says a lot about her and the restaurant. Our only complaint was that we originally made the reservation for 7:30. We called the morning of and asked to change it to 8:00. Maitre D' was not available but waiter who answered assured us the change was fine. He would check for sure and if not okay, they would call us back. No call back, but when we got there @7:55, we were told we were late and would have to wait with the walk in crowd. We waited until 8:40. Very disappointed in the wait and their attitude about it. Otherwise, super fun night and good food. Love New Orleans.
My second visit in the past month. I view this as a very good local Italian. My food on both visits was very good. On this visit I had the crab cakes and fettuccine. It was just as I imagined as I read the description. The Alfredo sauce was perfect. The crab cakes were seasoned well. The overall dish was very good. The service was good. My only complaint was the noise level in the restaurant. It was difficult to hold a conversation. This had not been the case on the previous visit. I am not sure if it was due to the fact that it was Saturday (versus a weeknight)or that larger of the two rooms is more noisy than the other. My wife are likely to return frequently, but will ask for the smaller dining room.
We LOVE THIS PLACE! THE BBQ shrimp is amazing- the sauce makes it a very unique entree. We ordered oysters on the shell, which were the best we had during our 6 day stay! Then, with our bibs in place, we devoured the shrimp, "sopping" up the sauce with bread! It was my birthday so we had key lime pie and bread pudding to top the night off! I have been going here since 1980 and it has never failed me! Thanks Pascals for a wonderful meal for 6 adults and a 2 year old- who loved the shrimp too!
