This neighborhood restaurant is vintage New Orleans, from the service to the decor. The oyster bar always manned by a friendly shucker. The oysters are fresh, salty and delicious.
The old time oyster bar and cocktail bar offers raw oysters on the half shell and all types of cocktails. We offer fine seafood, Italian specialties and delicious steaks.
BBQ Shrimp Sandwich
Our famous sautéed BBQ Shrimp stuffed in Leidenheimer French bread. Served with salad or soup du jour.
BBQ Shrimp & Grits
Jumbo Shrimp sauteed in our traditional BBQ shrimp sauce served in a butter white wine sauce over Romano Cheese grits. Served with salad or soup du jour.
We were there on a weeknight...the place was full...you could see that they were mostly regular local customers. This is a place where locals eat. I had Oysters Bienville...they were just Okay...then we split the house salad...it was VERY good. We both had a pasta with seafood entré...they were great. The place has lots of history and you should go.
Wait staff was horrible.. waiting over an hour for food. Hair in drink ordered.
Best BBQ Shrimp & Veal in the City of New Orleans!
Dependable and good. Never reaches the lofty levels but can't beat the BBQ shrimp. Wine list needs some serious help...all corporate supermarket wines
BBQ shrimp is still as outstanding as it was when I had it for the 1st time in 1985. Friendly service. Great dining experience.
The fried softshell crab with barbeque shrimp was delicious. Our waiter Eric was first class.
Excellent veal piccata. Eggplant Dryades were superb. Best bead pudding! Thank you, Cain
The raw oysters were outstanding and the entrees did not disappoint. It always amazes me how much value you get for a high quality meal at Manale's.
Great food and great service. First time there will not be our last!
We had an early reservation (4:00) since we didn’t eat all day in anticipation. The bread is delicious, a little crusty on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. I had the BBQ shrimp which were the largest I have had and were so flavorful. Our server, can’t remember his name, was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Before dinner, we had a drink at the bar. Jennifer was great and very friendly. Thomas at the oyster bar was wonderful. We chatted while he shucked and told me about oysters and was just so pleasant to speak with.
Hubby had the strip steak. It was good but I was not a fan of the seasoning. Of course, it was not my dinner and he enjoyed it.
Excellent as always
Great food , Excellent service, Friendly staff.
Party of 4, all enjoyed their food, except the fish I ordered was a bit on the dry overcooked side. Service excellent. Nice historical ambiance.
As far as I am concerned, Pascal's Manale is the only place to eat in New Orleans!
amazing restaurant. great service. food is amazing
Oysters appetizer wasn’t good at all. Other than that it was outstanding.
Fantastic BBQ shrimp! A must-have when visiting New Orleans. The wine recommendations were superb and our server was both knowledgeable as well as entertaining. He made my birthday dinner an evening to remember!
This was a revisit to Pascal's after several years. It was well worth waiting for as we felt especially well taken care of by our server.
The BBQ shrimp is a classic dish here and does not change over time. Always excellent.
Lighting was very poor since the bulbs were burned out across length of the room
So noisy you could not have a conversation
Barbecued shrimp was outstanding. Can't wait to go back.
The best in New Orleans
Birthday . My two boys treated me and it was great.
Waiter was very attentive and answered all questions freely
I thought the recipe for the turtle soup was a little too thick but the taste was excellent and the veal was delicious. Our other dinner had a trout entree and raved about it. Wish I had saved room for dessert but that was not to be.
It’s been a few years since I have visited but it’s still one restaurant I rave about
I used to live in New Orleans in the 1970's and loved to go to Pascal's Manale for their famous Bar-B-Q Shrimp. I have ordered Bar-B-Q Shrimp many times at other restaurants all over the country over the years hoping to get the same flavors as the original but have been disappointed. When we planned a trip to New Orleans recently, visiting Pascal's Manale was my number one place I wanted to go. The Shrimp were just at good as I remembered and on our visit they were huge! (I know that can vary according to season).
Delicious food, wonderful french bread, good service. There did not appear to be any effort to social distance the guests and the noise level made it difficult to converse at our table.
Old school restaurant. The bbq shrimp were great. We enjoyed our evening. This is a very casual place.
Growing up in NOLA (1965-1972), I always enjoyed dining at Pascal's. Also, since living in NOLA, I return every year in mid-April and enjoy introducing family and friends to the fine dining throughout the city. The evening of Tuesday, 4/20/21, was quite the exception and very disappointing. Our server, a blonde woman, began with a less-than-warm attitude toward us. She took our order for drinks but never asked again if we would like another (other than our water). The dining room began to fill and she was, therefore, busier but definitely not overwhelmed. Toward the end of our meal, my husband made a comment to which she took offense. She actually hit him on his shoulder and left our table. She spoke with the maitre d (her boss) as did we!! He "comp'd" our desserts and apologized for her rudeness. Although the food was good, I was embarrassed by what occurred in front of my guests. And I will NEVER return to Pascal's despite the free desserts. Her tip was $0 and she earned it.
Overall disappointing. Would not go back. Oysters were very good. Staff friendly. Accommodated a reservation change gracefully. Party of 6. Soups meh. Oysters and calamari and ‘make your own cocktail sauce’ all great. Entrees - 2 loved them, 3 ‘ok but would not order again’ and one sent hers back as not edible. Unfortunate.
Cocktails fair. Left disappointed and went somewhere else for dessert.
Fun people watching as it was prom night.
What a wonderful place! The food was exceptional. Favorite meal of our trip.
The food , service and ambiance were spectacular ! Highly recommend dining there. We enjoyed the shucked oysters by Thomas and the fried oyster platter was perfectly cooked. The oysters Rockefeller and Bienvenue were delicious with hot French bread. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. My son raved about the filet mignon with pasta Alfredo. The fish of the day with BBQ shrimp were spectacular. My favorite is the combination pan roast with spaghetti Collins and Ensalada Manale salad. And bread pudding for dessert is divine Put this place in your list to enjoy a fabulous meal.
LIKE VISITING AN OLD FRIEND- MANY WONDERFUL MEALS AND MEMORIES THER OVER THE YEARS. THEY WORKED US IN AS WELL AND WE SO APPRECIATED IT.
Everything was very good but the timing between the appetizers and the main course was off, by about 20 minutes.
Wonderful food. Terrific waiter. Took care to make sure my shellfish allergies were communicated to the kitchen. Cocktails were great. Bread pudding was out of this world. Wonderful 36th wedding anniversary dinner.
Jill was awesome.
Love the barbecued Shrimp! The waiter was very knowledgeable!
The oysters were the best I have ever had. Each and everyone: beautiful, plump, fresh and cold. Our waiter was fantastic, exceptionally well trained.
A waitress dropped food down my back and never even came back to check on me. It stained my sweater but when we mentioned to manager he paid for dry cleaning and we left as happy customers.
We were a party of 7 seated at a large round table. The dining room was lively and fun, but I had difficulty hearing the person across the table from me. That is to be expected at a large table for 7 persons. I would definitely return as the food quality was excellent. The service was superb. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the BBQ Shrimp and the Veal Picatta. I will return on my next visit to New Orleans.
To celebrate my return to NOLA
We are five older New Orleanians. Although we had not dined at PM in several years, it was as reliably delicious as ever. We loved the attractive neighborhood feel to the place, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. What a jewel!
