This neighborhood restaurant is vintage New Orleans, from the service to the decor. The oyster bar always manned by a friendly shucker. The oysters are fresh, salty and delicious.
The old time oyster bar and cocktail bar offers raw oysters on the half shell and all types of cocktails. We offer fine seafood, Italian specialties and delicious steaks.
Delicious food in a casual atmosphere. Waiter Louie was excellent! Would definitely recommend!
Service was great. Waitress was really friendly and attentive. Two different veal dishes where tough and overcooked. Desserts (key lime pie) were really good.
I have been here a few times as it is one of my father in laws favorite restaurants. This time was the last time. The maitre d was dismissive when I got there, pushing my away until everyone got there telling me to come back around again (the waiting area was empty). I came back less than 5 minutes and he acted like he had no idea who i was. He set us in front of the bar door at a table for 2 with a party of 3, when we asked the waiter to move to another table which was available, he said its not really my job. We go at least 2x per year and hosted my husband's family there before our wedding. I was very disappointed, service was lacking and we were rarely checked on. As a local I expect more. We will not be returning.
Excellent. Food and service was very good. We had t he prix fix restaurant week menu which was an excellent value. Veal Oscar and BBQ shrimp are the best.
The whole party thought the food was exceptional and a real bargain to boot! Will definitely return even without the bargain menu. A memorable experience.
Wonderful catfish with crab meat on top and Beurre BLANC sauce
Food was very good and the service was great. I had forgotten about Manale's but will return soon.
Very good food and very good service in a nice environment. The BBQ Shrimp are always good and the crab cake fettuccine was great. We also had the caprese salad and bread pudding for dessert. Overall a very good dining experience. Highly recommend.
It was really nice
In NO for a few days. Had wonderful evening at Pascal’s Manale.
Outstanding as always. Plenty of room between tables, great service, and, of course, excellent food. No need to worry about parking also. Pascal's has their own parking lot. I'm a local. Get your rear end over here for some fine dining.
Amazing food for the "Coolinary Specials" in August. Great Service throughout.
Lived in New Orleans all my life, never been to Pascal’s. I have heard mixed reviews. We decided to try for the coolinery menu that most of the restaurants do for the month of August. Well, it did not disappoint, six of us dined and every plate was “licked clean”. The BBQ shrimp were amazing, the baby veal with lump crabmeat knocked our socks off! Atmosphere was old school New Orleans, the room is very loud, don’t expect a quiet dinner. I will definitely put this in to the dining out rotation.
Best bar b que shrimp ever! Toy was great waitress and dessert of key lime pie, spectacular!
Very noisy, busy...felt rushed, bad table..will say my meal, the scallops with crab was delicious..
That staff is down to earth and friendly. The food is incredibly tasty.
Always good and dependable. Service always good and professional.
My wife a I went to Pascal's Manale for the New Orleans Coolinary menu. The food was excellent and the service was very good. My only complaint was that it was very loud. We were surprised at how busy it was on a Tuesday.
This was my 3rd time in less than a year, and I felt that it was lacking in several aspects.
Noise levels is so loud, you can’t carry on a good conversation.
Veal dinner was bland.
We absolutely loved Coolinary 2019 with Pascal's Manale!!!! We were early birds and so much enjoyed the attention and freshness of the staff. Louie, our wait staff, was a wonderful and personable waiter. Yes, yes, yes......, can't wait until next August, 2020 for more amazingly priced and excellent food to enjoy.
enjoyed our meal and our time together. love the beautiful oak trees.
Always heard of this restaurant, have always wanted to go. Had the chance to go for lunch. Outstanding value. We had happen to go during Coolinary month, August. Appetizers, entrees, and desert 18.00 pp. Waiting staff, very helpful with suggestions and specials of the day. Will return for their dinner specialty. Bbq shrimp.
The waiter (Louie) was awesome. The food was great!
Always enjoy this iconic nola favorite, food outstanding so was service, took 3 great wines in and corkage fee was minimal for each bottle, this restaurant is just so solid and reliable, been going there for 40 years , it will be the same great atmosphere for the next 40 years!!!
Our waitress was very slow. Waited 20 minutes after reservation time. After we were seated we waited almost 10 minutes before give a menu. Watched two Male waiters working circles around ours. We watched 3 tables seated after us get food before us. A table beside us ordered about 10 minutes after we did, they finished their meal before we even got ours. Will not be back!
Great place to eat/visit one of my favorite places. Can’t wait until next times. Please try the bbq shrimps
Coolinary menu for lunch was pretty good. The bar up front gives off the old school vibe that many travel to New Orleans to see.
A bit too noisy this time. Oysters bienville charred on edges, affected flavor negatively. Waiter too eager to do everything in one visit, that is, lists every possible thing we might need when asking if we need anything. Just didn’t come across right to me. I don’t think he exemplifies the personality I’ve come to associate with manales. He also described drum as being just like redfish, which it is not.
Great old traditional New Orleans restaurant. Wait staff is old time professional. Enjoyed my conversation with oyster shucker
Barbeque shrimp was as amazing as I remembered it from 20 years ago. Will go back (sooner)! Service from Wade was outstanding and friendly, and it is as New Orleans as it gets. Great ambience.
THE place to go for barbecue shrimp in New Orleans!
Place is old and ugly. Food presentation - none! Taste was good. Dinnerware and wine glasses need to be updated. Simply expensive and definitely not worth it.
Crab cakes seemed to be devoid of crabmeat. Serving them over pasta with an Alfredo/cream sauce did not work. My friend and his wife felt the veal was not not up to par. They both said they would get BBQ shrimp. Pascal's is great if you stick to a few dishes that they do well. The oyster bar is incomparable.
I would recommend them only with certain dishes in mind, which is why I said "YES" to recommend.
Excellent food, particularly their outstanding signature “shrimp barbecue”. The service is excellent and courteous. The waiters are knowledgeable and have been there for many years. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
When we walked in for our reservation the maitre d was visibly unwelcoming even though the place was empty and we were on time. That cast a pall over our experience. Server Brian was responsive and the food was excellent even though on a coolinary menu.
On our exit, no goodbye or thank you for visiting. As locals, I’m not sure we’d return.
All around disappointing. Reservation for 8p, sat at 8:45. Service mediocre, food mediocre. Too bad, wanted to love this place since it’s a New Orleans institution but honestly spend your money elsewhere.
We made reservations for 8PM. Arrived at 7:50. We weren’t seated or greeted kindly until 8:40. Our server was kind and diligent, yet food didn’t arrive til almost 9:40. It’s extremely loud so don’t go with the expectation of a conversational meal. Food was delicious however and exactly why we went. It’s checked off my list, however, I’m uncertain if we will return.
Such good cuisine and old school New Orleans
We’re very happy to come back 35 years later, still the place was Consistent after all these years.
Louis was extremely courteous and very knowledgeable about New Orleans area history.
We will come back!
