The food was tremendous and the service was excellent. I was referred by a friend and I have recommended Mason's to numerous others since my visit.
It was a great place for the six of us to eat. A good variety of food choices. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. We were not rushed to leave when the meal was over so we sat and talked.
Our first time and it was really enjoyable. The portions were rather large. The staff was friendly and helpful. An enjoyable evening and will be part of our Eastern Shore rotation.
My sisters and I took our Mom here last weekend as part of our weekend to celebrate her 70th birthday. Couldn't have been more perfect. Service was fantastic, food delicious and reasonable, and the setting was just what we had hoped. Arranged ahead of time to have a piece of cake brought out, and that went smoothly, with beautiful presentation. I would definitely recommend Mason's!
My wife and I absolutely love this place- Menu changes with season, very tasteful arrangements with a very good wine list. Make sure you stop by the candy counter in the bar area before you leave- they have the best dark chocolate salted caramels that we've come across. The longevity and friendliness of staff that work there is another reason why we continue to come back.
The food was excellent. Me and my girlfriend went for a Valentine's Day close to closing time. It was quiet and the decor was great the different color schemes of the different rooms were very cool but I loved the red room they put us in especially. The servers were friendly and punctual and the food was phenomenal - The lobster ravioli and the scallops were particularly great. Some may complain about the Valentine's 5-Course Special being the only option but I personally liked having limited options. Made for no-fuss dining. Highly recommended.
This was our first time eating here and it was awesome. Service and food was great . Decor and surrounding were awesome. We will be back
Great place to eat with a group of friends. Friendly service. No rush to make you leave. Good selection of food items. Everyone liked what they ordered.
After an excellent meal, I recommend purchasing an assortment of chocolates to enjoy later.
We started with the mussel and clam appetizer and the wild mushroom risotto balls. The mussel appetizer was a large portion with a very flavorful broth also including kale and cannelini beans. My husband enjoyed his appetizer as well as his airline chicken (breast with wing attached). I enjoyed the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin which was cooked perfectly. He also had the scrumptious bread pudding which he described as no ordinary bread pudding (chocolate chips instead of raisins). I had the fruity fresh tasting raspberry and mango sorbets. Our server was attentive but not overly so. She was very helpful suggesting menu items due to my gluten, dairy intolerance. Highly recommended.
Wonderful service from Hannah as always. Need to have proper wine glasses. Wine needs to be stored properly. No decanter for red wine was a faux pas. Small attention to detail needs to improve. Service was excellent.
Great food. Good atmosphere. A little chilly with table location by the door, but place was packed. Confused about who was our server. Had at least 2 or 3. Could have had a little more explanation of why. But overall with the busy lunch rush, the service was good.
Meal was meticulously crafted. Service was well paced. Music level appropriate, however type of music seemed out of place.
always a great stop for lunch, never fails to deliver with unfussy menu and friendly service
My wife and I just moved to Easton and recently discovered this gem of a restaurant. The food was excellent and plentiful. We went there for dinner with a friend before attending a concert at the Avalon Theater. We split the poached pear & apple Boston bibb salad. It came piled high with layers of fresh bibb lettuce leaves, pear and apple slices, cranberries, candied walnuts, and topped off with locally made Talbot Reserve cheese. The waitress was very accommodating, offering to split it for us. We declined, so she brought us 3 plates instead. There was plenty for a starter between the 3 of us. The entrees came out next. My wife ordered the pan seared bronzino, a healthy serving of fish prepared to perfection and served with wild mushroom and spinach cannelloni (3). Our friend had the chicken & andouille sausage gumbo. I had the fish and chips, a large haddock fillet served on nicely seasoned fries. Even though the gumbo and fish and chips were ordered off the "lite fare" section of the menu, all 3 entrees were enough for two, so we all took home enough to enjoy for a second meal. My wife and I will be back, probably to split an entree so we will have room for desert. Highly recommend Masons!
Mason's continues to be a favorite place to go. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with knowledgeable service staff who don't rush you but let you enjoy your meal. Presentation and food are outstanding.
Had lunch here with a group of nine other individuals. Not only did they put us in a private dining room, the staff was exceptional...attentive but not overbearing. The food was very good and the desserts were marvelous. One of the best dining outings we have had in this region.
New chef has changed the dinner menu a bit and was very good, the duck breast (special ) was delicious, excellent oysters and short ribs, if anything portions too large
Food was excellent, Ambiance excellent, noise horrible, price horrible. Tremendously overpriced. The value at Ruth Chris much better.
The restaurant is undergoing change --new bar area and they say the interior will be redone also. I personally like the deep red and gold walls w touches of black. Very cozy. My husband had the bronzino which he said was very good. I had the quiche and if was a bit dry. We shared the cinnamon bread pudding. Again a little dry. Overall good but not memorable. Would go back for a casual meal -- not a special event.
Crab cakes were full of real crab. The waitress went above and beyond to go back to the kitchen and ask if there were any left from the lunch menu
She made sure that none of our food had garlic
Beet salad very good
Webite menu did NOT coincide with the restaurant menu
Cauliflower polenta too cheesy
overall the waitress was the selling point but the restaurant was just ok
Our appetizers and entrees were out of this world.
Our family has enjoyed Mason's for years, especially for birthdays and anniversaries. We held the rehearsal dinner for one of our daughters here over a decade ago. The menu adapts to the seasons and we're never disappointed. The menus are on line so you can judge for yourself. In addition to traditional fine dining dishes you'll find pan seared foie gras, bison short ribs and similar out of the ordinary dishes.
Had dinner here to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Excellent food and wonderful service. Will definitely go back if we find ourselves in Easton again.
Hadn't been back in almost 2 years - had an excellent experience. Food options good - we were both very happy with our choices - had everything from wine to salad to entrees to dessert & coffee. Won't wait s long to return!
All the above!
We had not been here in a long time since we had a couple of mediocre meals, before the place changed hands. The menu is very attractive, with many appealing choices. We enjoyed our salads, followed by scallops and chicken. Service was very nice, too. Entrees are pricey, but appetizers and wine are reasonable. We will go back soon. Only complaint is that porch tables for two are just too tiny for food service.
We were disappointed with Mason's. While the food was certainly good enough, the overall experience just wasn't quite up to par with other Easton restaurants like Scossa or Bartlett Pear Inn. We even like Brasserie Brightwell better. The hostess took us to our table and abruptly dropped the menus and silverware on the table and left. The server was clearly overwhelmed with other tables and wine service was subpar as well. None of the bottle of wines we ordered were actually in stock and the two that were served were not very good selections. Nor was the wine very cold. Again, the food was pretty good, but some dishes too fussy. The tuna, for ex, came with shrimp which just seemed to add an unnecessary element to an otherwise respectable dish. Nice sitting outside on the patio and the restaurant is very cute. They just need to work out some of the details above.
The restaurant was charming and the food was delicious. Our server was personable and knew the menu well. The woman selling the chocolates was also knowledgeable and most helpful in making suggestions. I will definitely find an excuse to go back to Masons.
Food and service were excellent! A beautiful outdoor courtyard for dining. Stayed for entertainment by Jeff Calder at the bar afterward. A great night out!
Spent an enjoyable evening on the patio celebrating our anniversary! Been going to Mason's for over 10 years whenever we are in Easton. Was a bit concerned when they changed owners, but there was no need. Bill, the manager, welcomed us with complimentary champagne in honor of our anniversary which I had mentioned on the reservation. Our entrees - crab cake and pork tenderloin - were flavorful and cooked perfectly. Service was attentive. Bill surprised us with delicious chocolates to accompany our dessert. The bartender makes a yummy chocolate martini. I'm not sure why we ordered chocolate cake for dessert. We definitely didn't need it and the chocolates were far superior. Hoping to visit again soon!
The place to eat in Easton tips all others
The restaurant is quaint and in a perfect location and we were excited about everything we had read about the establishment. We had reservations for 7:45 because nothing earlier was available. When we walked in half of the restaurant was empty. The hostess placed us at a table on the upper portion of the restaurant near the bar as far away from the main dining area as possible. Every person who walked in after us was asked if they wanted to sit out on the patio or the main dining area. It took us a second to realize we had been snubbed by the hostess. My guess was my husband's attire. Jeans and a tshirt. Not his typical dinner attire but it's what he had on. We were the only people that were placed in this part of the restaurant. The server was great and our entrees were very good, but we will never return. We are happy to take our business elsewhere.
I was there on a weekday with a group for lunch and we all enjoyed our lunches and desserts. The service, however, was disappointing. Our server was rushed and did not provide us with appropriate service i.e.: she did not answer a question we asked and then rushed away, we had to ask for wine list and received one for the 5 of us to share while providing us with no specifics on where to look for by the glass or by the bottle. She was also working the outside terrace and that may have contributed to the lack of attention but not impressed with the service.
This neighborhood gem was just what we needed to kick off our 26th wedding anniversary celebration. Since it was a pleasant day, we dined in the outdoor courtyard. The babble of a cascading water feature provided a pleasant backdrop of white noise to enhance our dining experience. Mason's menu offers a vast variety of choices for a light lunch or satisfying entre. My tuna sandwich was prepared to perfection upon a chiabata roll with a flavorful, but not overpowering aioli. Her capriocola BLT was similarly prepared with attention to detail. Our beveridge glasses were never empty while service was attentive, but not overbearing. Overall an excellent dining experience.
simply put: just excellent food! from the warm bread basket that starts your meal to the carefully prepared entrees, you'll love all aspects of your meal. A recent fish and chips was perfectly fried, not greasy, super fresh fish and yummy french fries. We did't have room for dessert. Tables are sufficiently far apart so you can have a private conversation, in an old house (with a nice outside patio if it isn't too humid outside). We didn't like the singer in the bar area so we switched tables, but that's a matter of taste. Menu is sufficiently varied to please everyone. Competent, friendly service
Very pleasant, comfortable setting. Diverse menu w/ great appetizers, salads and entrees. Outstanding dipping oil and bread!!! Diverse and well-priced wine list. Easy parking; beautiful town. What more is there??
The food was good and outdoor dining area was wonderful. Our waitress did not serve the restaurant well - she was not very pleasant and seemed bored with her job. She was also put off when asked to make menu changes for our guests who required special dietary accommodations. We live in town and have frequented this restaurant often under its previous management. Also noted that there were dead bushes and scraggly flower boxes out in front of the restaurant. Apparently, the new owners are still working out the kinks.
Great atmosphere and menu, complete with a list of lighter options.
Bill still makes the best Cosmopolitan (on request)
A relaxing delicious dinner. Our server was friendly and helpful. Roasted shrimp appetizer was different and terrific, be sure to get it. Both our meals were perfect. Mason's is classy with no pretension, just gracious.
