This was the second time we had dinner at Pascalou and this time brought our adult grandchildren. Pascalou is a typical little French bistro obviously sponsored by the locals. The food is good - even quite imaginative -, the service very attentive. We certainly will recommend it and will be back ourselves.
The pre-fixe before 6:30 pm is a great buy. Good food, good service and wonderful ambience. If you can't get there that early (or don't want to) the food and value are wonderful. You feel like you are in a very intimate Bistro.
March 19th. Lunch with a friend
Excellent. We stopped for lunch before a concert at the 92nd Y. Now we'll find a reason to go back and try the rest of their menu.
Cute LITTLE place. Good service, good food. We would definitely go back again
The prix-fixe dinners (orders in by 6:45) are excellent value, with many choices for appetizer and entree. And their a la carte menu also looks good. The only downside is that seating is somewhat crowded. But at these prices, who can complain!
Surprised it was so good. Little neighborhood place
I love this restaurant. The menu is enticing and the tastes are delicious. The food is French with other continental choices as well.
The restaurant is tiny and there are definitely some tables that are not as good as others. I would suggest reservations. There is one small restroom on the second level with a stairway to access it so it would be difficult for those with ambulation problems .
I will return to this restaurant many more times.
The pissaladiere was disappointing.
Made a reservation for three and adjusted to four. The ground floor was packed and only one spot available. Long 'communal' type table outside the kitchen. Made conversation difficult as the noise level was high. The next time, and there will be a next time, we will repair to the second floor. Lovely and quiet. Reminded me of now closed favorite - Teodora on 57th Street.
Quite a lovely meal. Our table for two was a but cramped but that aside, the food was really delicious and the service very very pleasant. And definitely quiet enough to talk comfortably. Very nice.
We have been eating at Pascalou for over 20 years. It is one of my favorites. Just went there for my birthday lunch. The food is always amazing, and it's cozy and intimate.
Our first visit to this nice neighborhood French restaurant. It didn't disappoint us. Not fancy but good home cooked food. Our waiter offered good suggestions and even bought our son dessert. We'll definitely return.
Great prix fixed menu. Duck and salmon dishes ample, well prepared and tasty.
This is a terrific restaurant-Always feel as if I’m dining in the middle of Paris!
Good food that ‘s attractively prepared with a warm ambience that promotes a nice feeling in the room! No service though when the wine glass is empty. Definitely a turnoff! But this hopefully is due to oversight- not a new policy.
Always excellent. I have never been disappointed with dinner and/or brunch. Great!
Food just average, wine list OK. Small restaurant with limited seating.
Delicious.....wonderful evening with friends
We went on Valentine's Day and they had a special menu. The food was excellent and the service spectacular. We are looking forward to going back and trying the regular menu. I had stuffed filet of sole and my wife had crispy duck. We were very happy.
We went to our favorite romantic restaurant in the City for Valentines. It did not disappoint.
The hostess Lotti is the one who creates the magic. She is beautiful and charming.
Recommend it highly....
We understand now why this wonderful restaurant has been a mainstay on the UES
The food was really good, very nice ambiance, but our waiter was not nice, i guess he was tired or maybe he had a rough day! The rest perfect!!!
We just love the place , I did not want to let everyone know about the gem but have to
Cozy and quaint spot on the upper east side. I had lunch with a friend on a Saturday and we had a very nice time. Food is tasty and seasoned well, the prefix menu is a great value, and the service was very good. No complaints overall but the venue is really small. Don’t go with more than 3 people! Otherwise, I recommend that you give it a try! CHEERS!
Always a pleasure. Food is delicous with many choises to please all. Service is super! Loved French onion soup on a snowy day; others happy with rare tuna, and seafood risotto. Wine choice of Pouilly Fume was perfect.
Nice old fasioned good french food. Increasingly unique in nyc. Pricing fair. Very small so tables close of necessity.
Their early evening prix-fixe is a bargain with many great choices but the best thing about the restaurant is that the food is delicious! and the people who go there are nice and interesting and we had a wonderful conversation with our "neighbors"! It is small - not fancy but a perfect bistrot.. and with Italian and Asian specialties as well as French.
Good food for reasonable price. The lamb chops were delicious! Tables are a bit close together and there are no high chairs, just booster seats.
We went there for a Sunday brunch after going to The Met. It was very good - food was tasty, service was top notch, and the price was very good.
Took a look at the dinner menu, and that look very appealing as well.
This is definitely a place we will return to.
Truly a gem on the UES. Perfect spot for an after the museum, tho I understand brunch is superb, too. Lovely atmosphere, professional staff and delicious food.
Pascalou has excellent imaginative dishes and the staff is usually efficient and friendly. However, our waiter was not at all interested and was almost surly. It was a real turn off.
We have had lunch here many times. It is usually good and occasionally better.
The only down to this was the uncomfortable chairs at the round table up front. Really good food and nice service. Well worth the cost.
Small, quaint and delightful on main level, not so much on upper level. Food is wonderful.
One of our favorite local spots.
A very homey place with a French feel. Wonderful menu and everything tastes good. Service is good enough
A classic Upper East Side cozy restaurant with mostly a clearly local clientele. There used to be so many places like this: casually atmospheric, cozy and friendly, and good food at reasonable prices. It is really lovely. Very convenient to the 92nd Street Y and a very well priced prix fixe.
Great price fixed twilight dinner from 5-6:30. Highly recommend.
This is a delightful bistro -- perfect for a cozy meal for a few friends or a couple. Excellent food -- with a superb brunch, especially "Eggs in a Nest" -- and many good dinner options. A particularly good value for New York City and close to the Guggenheim.
