Dined 9/16, early evening reservation for two. Service was adequate but not very good nor excellent (i.e., we had to ask about specials, initial drink order took 13+ min., we had to ask for new flat wear after first set was taken after first course). Meal was good not very good nor as good as we've had in past. Appetizer of escargots and main dish of pork chop was overly salted. I still recommend as staff is welcoming and pleasant and every meal we've had prior has been very, very good.
This restaurant is my favorite. It is very cozy and every table feels private. Thes service is outstanding, and the food is exceptional. It never disappoinnts.
This is our favorite restaurant. We had two appetizers. The tuna and watermelon was excellent. The mushroom tart was good but needed more seasoning. The porterhouse steak was excellent. The Swiss chard needed more seasoning. The pot de creme is always excellent!
Our waiter was very attentive but a bit pretentious. I understand wanting to create a atmosphere of
elegance and old world charm, but he had a bit of a smug attitude when I didn’t answer his question properly about my choice of entree. It certainly didn’t dampen our evening out, but it was unnecessary.
It’s a lovely restaurant and very delicious food.
Food was amazing as usual! Loved the watermelon tuna and escargot as appetizers and for entrees the mussels and steak special!
Food was good, very loud clientele compared to previous times. Service started out okay. Then check was dropped mid bite of dessert. We didn’t ask for check it was just dropped off. And server seemed to be in a rush to leave.
Food wasn’t cooked properly. Scallops were over seared on one side almost to the point of being burnt and the other side wasn’t seared at all. The foie-gras was the same. Portion size of the entire plate was to small for the price.
Absolutely delicious food with great service. All four members of my party were satisfied. The sweet garlic soup and the pot de creme were my favorites. I would definitely recommend to friends and family especially for special occasions.
The food was delicious, waiter was excellent. The only two complaints I have was it was very dark and i had to bring the candle up to my face to see the menu and the other was the noise from the bar.
A fantastic restaurant. Service is excellent and the food is delicious.
We had a very nice meal. The dover soul was very good. The scallops were also very good. The suckling g pig was outstanding. Mussels, charcuterie, and fromage du jour were a great opener. The mixed sampler was a nice finish to the meal. Though the highlight of the evening was our server. I believe her name was Asia, probably the best server we've worked with in years.
Easily one of the best restaurants in NJ. If you're tired of eating in a strip mall Italian joint go here instead. It's nice to see some variety for once. Yes it's not cheap but I've had plenty of average to garbage meals for fifty dollars cheaper.
The food at Pascal and Sabine’s is superb. The service is excellent.
While the food was exceptional, the experience left a lot to be desired. From the broken/chipped table we were given, to where we were seated, I’ve had better ambiance at a Jersey diner. The food does not disappoint though!
Next time, I’ll skip the hostess and go straight to the bar!
Fun cool place with great drinks abc good food!
It's dark in there. Food was hum drum. Service was very good.
Made reservations one month ago and have recommended ps to several friends. They’ve all had a pleasant experience however this last time we were seated by the bar and told that a better table would take another hour and a half. Little disappointed and now trying to find another “go to” restaurant when in Asbury.
We celebrated my husband’s and father-in-laws birthdays on Friday night and I have to say, while the food was pretty good overall, the service was quite lacking, especially since I made a point to mention that these were both milestone birthdays that we were celebrating. We were taken to our table and then waited for quite awhile for anyone to come over and acknowledge us. And once our server did, it was quite awhile before she came back with our drinks. When we ordered dinner, we mentioned that we wanted to order wine to have with our food and she said she would send the sommelier over, which she never did (or they just never came, one of the two), so when she did come back to take our wine order, the food came out way before our wine. So, we waited on the wine to have with the food and by the time it did come, our food had gotten cold. The quality of the food was good, as were the drinks, once we got them, but overall, the service was not so much—especially since we were celebrating such special occasions.
Excellent moved to quiet back room. So much nicer. Food and service top notch.
The food was amazingly delicious. Before my daughter had never finished her stake but not here. NY stake with fritas was super yummy....and those sauces are so good. We didnt have room for desert ...definitely will come back again.
The food game in AP has definitely elevated over the past few years. P&S has raised it more. Everything was delivered perfectly prepared and SEASONED. The wine list, even by the glass pairs with the items offered. I’m totally chuffed with the experience..
Bocuse d’or for AP..
Interesting menu, excellent food creatively prepared and generous portions. Service was helpful and attentive. Highly recommend.
Revisiting P&S after several years and had an overall pleasant experience. Thank you to the young hostess for seating us in a booth after first seeing a not very private table for two. We appreciated that tremendously and were off to a good start. Our server was knowledgeable but appeared over extended (forgot our drink order and when told at the end of the dinner just to make sure he didn’t charge us for it, his reply was “oh, sorry”—-perhaps he should have brought it complimentary at this point???!!!). Our first course took 45 minutes to arrive. We had demolished the bread and hungrily consumed an excellent mushroom tart and tiny plate of pasta, very well prepared. My dinner companion mentioned that at $16, that meant that each of the cavetelli was $4. They were super small. Mushroom tarte a much better value and beautifully prepared. The Dover Sole was excellent as promised and after a pow wow with the chef to substitute the corn succotash for an alternate vegetable (who eats corn succotash with Dover sole???)—we expected a sublime accompaniment. The mushrooms were described as being cooked in garlic, but tasted strongly of vinegar and very salty. Honestly for $65, the Dover Sole deserved a nice asparagus or other true vegetable, that didn’t fight the flavor of the fish. The filet mignon was done perfectly as requested and the frites were yummy. We have spoken to other diners who agree that this restaurant is heavy on the salt and we did notice this on the entrees. Would have loved dessert but too full, maybe next time. The bar selections and wines and champagnes are very good. Would consider returning for a light snack. A dinner return would include a request for meal prepared with light salt. Overall, we enjoyed the experience. French food well done!
There were a number of items on the menu that were sold out. It was hamburger night but if you don't eat red meat your choices were limited. The farm salad, the dessert that I wanted to order were sold out. For almost the same price I had salad, before dinner drink and drink with entree and a side dish at a nearby restaurant. Here I had 1 drink, the entree and side dish. This is why I rated the value low.
We ordered a porterhouse for 2. The steak was $77 and it was barely big enough for 1. Very disappointed.
Wonderful food and service led to a very enjoyable dining experience
As usual, Pascal and Sabine does not disappoint! The scallops are excellent, the fish wonderful And the dessert trio a nice end to the meal. It is and will be our special occasion place.
While Pascal is a pricey restaurant, it is quite good - and consistent.
In our latest visit, I ordered the pork chop, which I've had before with a different seasonal flair. Wow...definitely a safe and unbelievable choice for me.
My wife had the red snapper, and it didn't disappoint.
What else? We loved seeing the oysters on the summer menu, and they were also delectable (those who dare to order oysters know the risk there). Briny and well-textured.
Was it a $250 meal with drinks & tip? Yes, it was. Can you find better values? Sure. Can you find better quality? No. Pascal is top notch, and you get what you pay for.
Again the food level has drop considerably since first opening. We had out tasting dinner here for our wedding and it was simply delicious 5 years ago. But the past few years the quality of dishes coming out of the kitchen doesn't meet French standards.
Food is great. Ambiance lovely. I appreciated that the noise level was subdued. Too many places are way too loud.
Always a favorite night out! Food and service are both excellent. Anything you choose on the menu is sure to please. This visit we shared the porterhouse for 2. Amazing!
We arrived at Happy Hour for drinks at the bar. Drinks were delicious and cheap! Then we sat down at our table and had a delicious meal. Best escargot this side of the Atlantic! The red snapper was light and delicious.
Such a fantastic restaurant! Delicious French cuisine, cocktails, ambiance and service. All stellar!
Highly recommend this restaurant...will definitely return.
Very noisy even when only half the tables were occupied. People yelling across the table to make themselves heard is a losing proposition.
Food was very good but pricey.
Always a great meal! Our server was beyond delightful. The escargot is a total winner! Great cocktails as well - enjoy!
Great burger and fries. Really savory!
An excellent experience! The food was good, as always and we were given a quiet table which we asked for.
One of my favorite restaurants on the Jersey shore. Great French - American food with an excellent brunch menu. The cocktails are unique and exquisite. I would highly recommend stopping here for food or a drink
Delicious with the best staff to make the experience even more enjoyable.
Was a birthday,I put in the reservation but nothing was done for it..disappointing
