The onion soup was very good, the crab cake was almost cold. The removed it from the bill.
It was very loud. The waitstaff was very nice.

A thoroughly enjoyable dinner. We all had the French onion soup which was as good as any I have had. Then three different seafood plates - crab cakes, red snapper, and trout. All received high marks. The only down mark, and a minor one, was the escargot. Thee cream sauce was pretty bland. A simple garlic and butter would have served much better.

Overall excellent, not typical restaurant. We love the French influence, which you don't get just anywhere. I got a hamburger and it was fantastic, gourmet, perfect. Others got various dishes, all were very satisfied. Deserts are over the top excellent. I would compare to a specialty restaurant on a high end cruise liner. In fact, it did feel like a vacation for the evening. A bit pricey but well worth it. The service was outstanding. Our waitress had a warm smile the entire time (she was pregnant so the glow was evident!).
I would go back even just for the hamburger!

This past Tuesday was our second visit to Pascal and Sabine. The food was again excellent. The service was efficient (although see comment below). However, I have two issues - one minor and one major.

The minor issue is that the menu is nearly identical to what it was two years ago. A few new items and/or interesting specials are needed at this point.

The major issue arose when we were presented the check at the end of the meal. A $17 charge was added for bottled water. We never ordered bottled water. In fact, our waitress only asked if we wanted "water for the table." We never saw a bottle of water during the meal (our water glasses were refilled by a bus girl from a metal pitcher). Padding the bill (which was nearly $200 for three diners) with unauthorized charges is clearly a bad practice for any restaurant (not to mention illegal under the Consumer Fraud Act).

Normally I would have questioned such a charge before paying the check; however, we were celebrating a birthday and I didn't want to ruin the evening by getting into a dispute with the waitress over the check. Perhaps it was an innocent mistake; perhaps not. Even if we had ordered bottled water, $17 is pretty high. Not sure if I will visit Pascal and Sabine again or recommend it to anyone.

Alex at that circle bar is so super impressive. Really best bartender I’ve ever had. Our waitress, forgot her name, sensed just the right amount of contact. And the food... OH MY GOD!

This was my second time, service was excellent as server was knowledgeable about their menu in particular and food and beverage in general. Food was good to very good. Desserts are excellent.

A vibrant French bistro with a noise level to match. My reservation received a follow-up telephone confirmation and my party of 3 were promptly seated despite the fact that the restaurant was packed. The linen tablecloth and silverware were good quality. French bagets and unsalted butter are complimentary. The escargot appetizer was excellent with a garlic butter flavor. The country pate appetizer was good but the pork was more of a slice of terrine and not creamy in texture. The accompanying pickled baby veggies and toast points were a nice addition. The mussels entree was good with a savory rosemary broth. The scallops entree was good but not enough food for a big eater. The pork chop entree was cooking to medium and accompanied by delicious roasted brussel sprouts. A lemon cake dessert was good and the American coffee was excellent. Moreover, a good bistro with a limited menu that caters to a gentrified AP crowd.

I try to go to this wonderful restaurant at least once every six weeks. The menu is always being updated for new items to try, and this night the chef had a new special for short rib bone marrow over mussels that was to die for and should become a regular small plate item! The mushroom tart was excellent as always and you have to have the escargot when you are here it’s a must. I suggest turning your experience into a four course meal because I also enjoyed a wonderful sweet garlic soup that was beyond comparison! And of
Course dessert you always have to have the chocolate pot de creme and we tried the lemon cake which was new and excellent - the beignets are also a must try item! And wash it all down with a nice glass of Ben rye! This is a five star restaurant in my opinion and they should not change a thing! Chef is excellent! Also I must say that the best hostess we ever had the experience of having is Asia hands down - so professional and pleasant! She makes sure everything is taken care of for you and makes sure you are properly given time to eat and plans out when your next meal is available with ease! I love this restaurant and will keep coming back every six weeks for sure and I hope nothing ever changes. Truly a top of the line European experience out of Asbury Park of all places! If you have not had the pleasure you simply must visit at least once!

Service was terrible and it was not even crowded. French onion soup was one of the worst, the scallops were sandy. Steak was fine but average at best. Fries were lousy. Not sure why people rate this highly.

I had the Doversole that was the best I have ever had. My wife had the pork chop which was one of the best she ever had. Agnolotti appetizers was excellent. 8:00 reservation was right on time and service was excellent.

Second time going on Valentine’s! I stepped out comfort zone & went with duck breast with beets & beet purée and it was amazing as well as the pot de cream dessert. Best meal I have had in a very long time! This may become a Valentines tradition. Husband enjoyed his as well (scallops)

The food was great Escargot with garlic, scallops with baby sweet potato and milk chocolate pot de creme. Service could have been a little more attentive. Beautiful decor. Will definitely go back. It was also Valentines Day for ever more so service is the name of the game.

Very disappointed in the lack of service. My husband and I have been here twice for dinner and very much enjoyed the food, so we made a reservation here for a special Valentine's Day lunch with our family. (Reservations were not necessary as there were only two other tables and a couple of patrons at the bar).
We were seated by the hostess upon arrival and that's where the hospitality began and ended. We waited over 20 mins, no greeting by a server, no water poured in our glasses, it was if we were invisible. Funnily enough I know we couldn't have been invisible as the manager and a few waitresses/waiters passed by our table and I even caught them staring at us a couple of times.
Being a "benefit of the doubt" type person, I assumed the stares were potentially a discussion that we had yet to be greeted or waited on. Unfortunately not, as none of the stares manifested into service. We were completely ignored. We even sat right by the bartender who pretended not to notice or notify anyone that we weren't being taken care of. Not acceptable when there are less than 10 other people in the restaurant.
After 25 minutes of just sitting there like we didn't belong (meanwhile watching the only other two other tables receive service, including the second table who sat down 15 mins after our arrival), we decided to take our business elsewhere. As we were packing up belongings the waitress came over nonchalantly and asked if we needed anything. Too little too late, she was either completely oblivious or just insensitive to the fact we had been sitting there unserviced for as long as we were. Not even an apology.
I have never ever walked out on a restaurant in my life. Needless to say, we will never be back. Food is good, but not so special that I would ever condone this lack of service and professionalism.

Best escargot ever! Porterhouse steak frites ordered medium rare..got medium rare. The Dover Sole was unfortunately overcooked and the butter sauce too much lemon. Aside from the fish everything else was perfect.
