Parts of Paris Ratings and Reviews
If you are planning a special meal and you do NOT want to speak with or hear your dinner companions, Parts of Paris is the place to go.
We have been to this restaurant a few times before and were aware that the restaurant is small, full of hard surfaces with very little sound absorbing material and the tables are close together. But the excellent food was worth this usually minor discomfort.
This time, though, there was a table with four gentlemen (?) whose conversation was loud enough to dominate the entire restaurant and became increasingly vulgar as the evening wore on. Open Table's Noise Level of "energetic" doesn't come close to describing it and It was obvious that most of the other diners were also disturbed.
When we mentioned this to our waiter, his only response/reaction was: "We're not known for being quiet." He repeated this several times as we declined dessert in our haste to get away from this unpleasant environment.
We did not expect "quiet" but a certain amount of civility and respect for all the patrons in a high-end restaurant.
We feel bad for the chef whose fine cuisine is being served under these conditions but we will not return to enjoy it.
A find in downtown Safety Harbor well worth the drive if you are not nearby, or, are just visiting the area as were we. This small French bistro restaurant (in a remodeled bungalow) offers a varied menu of interesting dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers (squid, foie gras) and entrees. The duck preparation was excellent and the seafood stew was loaded with a variety of shellfish and fish. We would have likely enjoyed a selection from the salad offerings, but, did not need that much food for our meal. There is a nice sized bar off to the side which was busy with patrons dining, without a TV visible to the dining area to distract from the dining room ambience. There is outside seating which likely would be enjoyable if the weather were inviting. Keith, our server, was attentive and very helpful in assisting us with our menu selections. It was nice to find a Sancerre available by the glass.
Delightful spot in Safety Harbor. A touch of Paris is true. Our lobster thermidor which was supposed to be an appetizer was great for our dinner. Veggies were a little overpowering for lobster. Crime Brûlée was cold but taste was superb. We had a very enjoyable unrushed dinner for two. Pace and waiter were the best. Can’t wait to return!
We feel very fortunate to have Parts of Paris in our neighborhood, and frequent it as much as possible! The brunch is also a wonderful addition on Sundays. Unfortunately, the last two times we have had dinner there, large parties who are loud, obnoxious and drinking heavily have ruined our dining experience. Other tables around us were also noticeably annoyed, and yet no waiters or management intervened in this atmosphere that seemed more like an on-tap sports bar. I do hope that management will recognize that this behavior feels antithetical to an otherwise lovely bistro ambiance, excellent food and very personable waitstaff, where diners come to actually enjoy each other's company as well as the food.
The place is not that big -- perhaps 20 tables or so. It does have a bar where you can drink and have dinner -- especially if you don't have a reservation. Outside seating is an option and they provide blankets on cold nights. The service is always terrific and they know us by name now. The food is outstanding -- steak tartare ad well as their charcuterie which is large enough for a meal. They have daily specials as well. One thing to note is that Safety Harbor frequently has "events" which can make getting there and parking quite a challenge. Go to the Safety Harbor web site to make sure there are no events going on!
French food very good. Service was very slow and waiter was not very attentive. Had to continually ask for things. The real negative is how noisy the dining room is. Even with only half full dining room it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Nice weather and outside dining are great not so much inside. Appetizers are very expensive for what you get. Noisy bistro not elegant fine French dining.
Love this place! Delicious food, unique menu, authentic French cuisine. Service is great. Friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Ambiance is cozy and fun at the same time. I have lived and dined in the Tampa/St Pete area for more than 20 years and this is one of my all time favs. Great for girls night out or for a special event or date. I highly recommend Part of Paris!
We chose outdoor seating since the weather was spectacular and it was the right choice. Started the evening with charred octopus and steak tartare. Both were delish but the octopus stood out with charred edges swimming in a tart cream, VERY different and so tasty. I chose the seafood bouillabaisse and was not disappointed. Succulent clams and mussels with salmon and soft shell crab!!! Simply divine. We finished with chocolate mousse and raspberries. Our server was excellent. The perfect blend of personal and professional. I highly recommend this neighborhood gem for casual special occasions. It was so worth the drive from Tampa.
My husband and I had the Charcuterie to start off with and it was very tasty. We ordered Bouillabaisse as our main course. I have had this dish a few times and mostly been disappointed. Tonight was different. It was very good for the most part but had a bit too much of the salmon taste to the broth. At least for my taste. We finished with coffee (espresso for me and black American for my husband )and crepe Suzette wile he had the ice cream with berries. Both very good. The service in Parts of Paris is excellent and we owe that to Chris. The only drawback was the noise level. Next time, whether permitting, we will dine outside. We do love this place and it's homey atmosphere.
This was our first time here. Found the restaurant in a local search...Reading prior reviews about the interior noise level, we selected outdoor seating. The weather was perfect. It was a great choice!
The food was fabulous!!!
The bouillabaisse was excellent and the trout special that my wife enjoyed was deliciously prepared. Our wine was a perfect match for both meals. Selecting the berries and homemade ice cream desert and an espresso was the perfect finishing touch.
The interior noise level was high, but you cannot blame that on the facility. It seems it is hard to find any place today where you can enjoy a quiet meal out....
We will definitely be returning. Kudo's to Parts of Paris.
It was my first time to celebrate my daughters birthday but it was so so noisy that we could not hear our conversations exc ept talking louder. gentlemen beside us was very loud and of course you cannot help that. My steak was not cooked through and had a bit of grizzle in the center. I enjoyed it better the second night at home. My girls enjoyed theirs. Sorry, but you asked.
