About

Parts & Labor, from the team behind Woodberry Kitchen, is located in Remington in an old automotive garage, continuing the relationship with Chesapeake Bay growers focusing on sandwiches made with pastured meats cooked in an open hearth. We pour 24 beers on tap with a focus on supporting small farm breweries in Maryland. Along Howard Street in this space we have a full retail butcher shop selling fresh cuts, sausages, cured meats, and Woodberry Pantry preserves, and staffed with a full butcher team to help make selections.

Such a cool building/setting. Had the dad bod sandwich. Everything I expected it to be. Also picked up a few items from awesome full service butcher shop on premises. Will be back.

Overall the experience was good. The food and service was good. The one negative is that one of our apps (blood sausage) came out cold in the middle. When we told our server, she replaced it with a new one and credited it off the bill.

The fish skin was rubbery and the steak was chewy - not something I expect from Woodberry.
The cheese crostini and bread pudding were good.

INCREDIBLE. Hyper-local and fresh focus in every aspect. Meat is the focus (it's a combo with the butcher shop) and it's SO good. We got the charcuterie board and cheese board to start and then 2 small plates and 2 dinner plates plus some side veggies to share among the 4 of us. It was perfect.

There was a guest cook Monday evening that specializes in smoked dishes, primarily seafood. The food was wonderful.
He used exotic spices which brightened and enhanced the food. He also combined textures in a very pleasing way. The entire small plate experience was a complete delight.

Was a very nice experience. There is a tremendous demand for farm to table style foods and Parts & Labor has nailed it. I had scallops and my wife had pasta. We both shared and enjoyed the dishes. They were very complex flavors in both. Server was very attentive as well. We asked him a few questions and he answered honestly. Will definitely come back.

My wife and I had a fantastic meal, and the service was excellent. The only drawback in my book was the noise level (I've experienced much worse, but still prefer a restaurant where I can have a nice conversation with the person sitting across from me, without raising my voice.

Definite strength of the restaurant are the meats with a butcher on site. Sausages and cheeses were a hit. My filet was cooked on the rarer side, but since the quality of meat is high it was perfect for me. My wife had the chicken stuffed with sausage and enjoyed it immensely. Wine choices were limited, but we tried a local one with success. Many local beers on tap. We celebrated our anniversary and the restaurant purchased our desert. The butterscotch bread pudding paired well with the ginger ice cream. A little pricey, but it was worth it. Not a fancy place, just a very good meal with what the area can offer.

Delicious food and what a great staff! Called to confirm my reservation and asked if we were celebrating anything - I told them it was my boyfriend's birthday and they brought out dessert with a candle without me even asking. It's a little pricey but that's bc it's farm to table. Definitely worth it for a special occasion.

I have been to SJ's ventures (Woodberry Kitchen, Artifact Coffee, P&L) dozens of times. They share the theme of having delicious, creative, locally sourced food and drink (with occasional exceptions). Our dishes at P&L were scrumptious, particularly the brown sugar ribs and scallops/6 oz steak combo. The food was almost worth the high price. Unfortunately, the cocktails were badly overpriced --- way too much $ for a weak drink.

This was our first visit to Parts & Labor, and it certainly won’t be the last. Outside they maintain a large fire pit allowing your party to gather before the meal. The restaurant is casual but their approach to food is not. Everything was prepared well and tasted great. We opted to try to sample as much of the menu as possible so we went for smaller dishes. The Trout on Rye appetizer was incredibly flavorful and not too heavy. We also tried the radish appetizer. Radish by itself isn’t too memorable, but the dipping sauce made it stand out. For our main course we tried a few sausages - the lamb and the kielbasa. Those more adventurous have other options, but the spices and flavor were outstanding. We also had the greens with bacon, which was wonderful. We wrapped up by splitting a dessert - the blondie (served hot with ice cream). The fish pepper ice cream gave it a little kick that was surprising, but it worked well. And the service was excellent as well. We were seated quickly and well cared for, and food reached our table at just the right moments and always hot. Overall we had a great experience and will be back.

We popped over for a quick bite after an art exhibition reception. We were able to get a table last minute on a busy Saturday evening. People were enjoying the outdoor fire-pit and, and as usual, the interior was lively and warm. We just wanted a few filler dishes since all we had eaten was cheese and crackers for 3 hours. We settled on a fresh panzanella salad, the Weisswurst, and the Blondie to finish. It was nice small meal: the service was friendly and the bites, satisfying.

We had 8:30pm reservations on a Saturday. We started the meal out ordering a bottle of Pinot noir, They were sold out of the bottle so we went to the next one on the list. This too was sold out, they suggested a different wine that was an extra 10 dollars. We asked what Pinot was on the menu for glasses since they were out of the other one and were told they still had an open bottle and a full unopened bottle for glass service only. We ended up with a glass and a half of the house red. We were a bit frustrated, especially after being told that they still had a bottle of the wine we ordered but were excited to move onto the food. We had planned on ordering the scallops and fillet. Ordered the fillet and the waiter came back to day they were out of that as well. Note. This is a restaurant whose Sctick is also being a butcher shop. Fillet is probably the most popular cut of meat and this was on a Saturday at prime dining hours. At that point we were just not that into the idea of spending $150-200 on a dinner that isn't what we wanted to eat. We mentioned that we would rather just go somewhere else, and the waiter said he would bring the check for the wine (which we had not touched). I mentioned that we hadn't touched the wine and it wasn't even what we wanted to begin with and they said they would take care of it. The manager then came over and said to ask for her next time we came and they would "make sure we were taken care of". Not sure how they would know who we were. I had been here once before shortly after they opened but this was a terrible experience and shows poor management of inventory as well as poor customer service. This could have been made better to start by offering another bottle of Pinot (or even the blend suggested) for the price of either of the ones we ordered. And certainly not telling us you had an unopened bottle of the wine that was for glass only. Making the extra $8 shouldn't have been that much more important than good customer service

I took my partner to Parts and Labor for his birthday and we enjoyed everything about the experience - excellent service, delicious food and the perfect ambiance. At the last minute we had to change our reservation from 4 to 2 on OpenTable. The request did not make it to the restaurant before we arrived, but the hostess was quick to accommodate us. Our food was terrific. I won't name the plates because you should try any and everything they have on offer. The decor, noise level and general layout of the restaurant are top notch. This place checks every box for us. I've since been back twice with small groups for happy hour. This place is a gem in Remington.

I absolutely loved this place, from the store, to the decor, the service and the food. I'm usually just a meal person but we had their bread and pig butter (free), cheese platter, local beer, steak (I forgot which one they had), smoked turkey legs, and a mixed drink each. Everything was locally sourced with explanations on where it came from and delicious. I was a little worried because sometimes farm to table is a little to "out there" or creative for me but it was all so good and you only have to step out of your comfort zone if you want. I will be back for special occasions or to shop for meat and local food items!

Welcoming, attentive, gracious service, delicious fare attractively presented. Many possibilities for dinner depending on how hungry you are and whether you want a light meal or a more substantial one. Wish that the bar had more to offer in the way of cocktails. A missed opportunity in my way of thinking. Otherwise, a real joy and I always look forward to going back.
