Parlor Market Ratings and Reviews
Visiting Parlor Market is always a must for my wife and Iwhen we are in Jackson. We love to sit at the bar and enjoy the quit dimly lit atmosphere. The food is always great and interesting. On our last visit the Eggplant parmasean was exceptional as was our Lobster Risotto. We love the Turtle dessert recommended by Kelly, our bartender and server. She also made us great cocktails and gave us a good wine recommendation. Can’t wait for our next visit!
They have changed owners and it has all gone down hill from there. Smaller portions and different recipes of the same food. The sweet potatoe muffin is no longer there and the Mac n cheese tasted like it was from a box. Probably will not come here again which is sad because this was a favorite of my coworkers and I.
I've been a fan Parlor Market since Craig Noone's concept turned into reality. After Craig's tragic death, the restaurant seemed to have difficulty finding an identity. But, when restaurateur Derek Emerson took over, things started looking up.
Derek has kept all the great things about PM, with an ever-changing menu and fresh takes on some novel menu items. The focus seems to be seafood, Italian, and the South. Highlights were the Charcuterie board with meats and cheeses and the Milanese. Recommend the Redfish; not a huge portion, but prepared flawlessly. In addition, all of the meat dishes are excellent - we enjoyed both the Milanese and the Strip. Sides are generous and meant for sharing. Also, don't miss the Craig's Fried Oyster salad. Perfectly fried oysters on lightly-charred romaine lettuce.
This was our first time to the Parlor Market. Easy to find parking nearby. Service was great and good beer menu. We ordered the tuna crudo as an appetizer and it didn’t have much flavor. My husband asked for hot sauce. Wouldn’t order it again. Had the PM dinner salad and it was fresh and yummy. Ordered the pork chop and ate it all. Cooked well and lots of flavor. Had the stewed kale and snap beans for sides. The beans were amazing and nothing like I have had anywhere else. The kale was too salty and almost couldn’t eat it. Will go again and try other items. Worth another date night.
I dined here last Friday for my one year wedding anniversary with a reservation. We were seated fast but service was downhill from there. The bar drinks were good but didn’t arrive until 20 minutes after we were seated. Our waiter Kevin or Jason (can’t recall) was polite and made menu suggestions. Meatball appetizer was served warm; not hot. I ordered mushroom pasta which was over-salted. The waiter was apologetic and ask the kitchen to remake my meal. Still too salty. Food Flavors, small portion size, and slow kitchen won’t have me coming back anytime soon.
The food is still good even with the change in ownership. We came for the duck sausage which they no longer have along with the homemade cobbler & ice cream for desert, which they no longer have.
The restaurant has turned more to an Italian style and the Octopus Puttanesca w/ squid ink pasta was wonderful!
I would still recommend this restaurant as one of the best in the Jackson area for the quality of food they prepare.
The food was absolutely amazing. I had 2 of my bosses with me who are very big foodies, and they were super impressed with all of our meal selections. I absolutely recommend this place. My only suggestion would be to work on the air ventilation because it was a little smoky inside. This place is truly one of the top restaurants in MS!
Compliments to the chef- truly outstanding food. We come here for a business meal about once a month. This time, the service wasn't the best. The whole dinner took 2.5 hours which was absolutely ridiculous. However, we will definitely be back, we do love Parlor Market!
There are only two critiques-1. The table was a little too close to the kitchen and it was warm for half the table, in Mississippi, in September. 2. The bartender was a little too slow getting cocktails or basic bottles of beer out/made. The bar was not busy, but when I went to the bar and changed a friends cocktail it was delivered right after I sat back down. So I don’t know if it’s the waiter/tress or bartender. It was fantastic, great for the large groups we dine with. It was a first time for the group and everyone was very impressed with our recommendations!
I have always liked Parlor Market. I have been told it recently changed owners which is probably why the menu is somewhat changed. However, my favorite dish the fried oyster salad is still on the menu & I rather like the expanded selections. Nevertheless, we did have a bit of a problem with slow service. We didn't think it was the waiter but instead a slow kitchen. We were almost late for a MSO performance. And we alerted our waiter in advance that we needed to leave at a certain time. We still enjoyed our visit and the delicious food. One great advantage of PM is the valet service! It is Awesome!
Congratulations, Open Table!
Parlor Market has a new owner and chef(s) along with a new Italian themed menu.
Of every Googled entry (including one titled "PM-new menu") only Open Table had the new menu and the backstory about the new Chef owner(s).
The food was excellent as at all of Derek's venues. Don't miss this one!
This was my first time to PM and I definitely was not disappointed! I chose this restaurant to celebrate a birthday lunch with my niece. Lunch was incredible starting with our Fried Bread and Butter house pickles with house made ranch and smoky comeback. We enjoyed the Shrimp Primavera and ordered a side salad. The entree was wonderful with lots of fresh ingredients and incredible tasting shrimp. We went with the house citrus vinaigrette with our salad. It was by far the tastiest dressing to complement the salad. It did not clash with the Spy Valley wine we had. Next came our finale, the salted caramel cake of which we got the next to the last piece.
I cannot say enough about this restaurant from the decor and how well they have preserved a piece of history in Jackson - to the excellence in ingredients which is shown in all of their food. While parking is a little bit of a challenge if you are driving in for lunch - it is well made up for in your meal. Dinner however has valet parking which is a plus.

Had an early dinner before a concert. Shared an heirloom tomato/mozzarella salad that was very good and plenty to share. My wife had the Carbonara pasta and I had the Lamb Bolognese pasta. Both were somewhat disappointing. Best course was dessert, olive oil cake. Delicious!
We are a big fan of other restaurants operated by the same folks, so we tried Parlor Market for the first time since new ownership. Food and service was not up to par yet with their other restaurants. We will give it one more shot some time in the future hopeful of improvement.
First time in Jackson and we stumbled on this amazing restaurant. Top-notch food and great service. This would be in my regular rotation if I lived anywhere near Jackson. Loved the fried oyster salad with comeback sauce. Super yummy.
The food was amazing. We had small bites of beef carpaccio, short rib gnocchi both were some of the best ever! The wedge salad was delicious. Kids loved the Pasta Carbonara with bacon and peas and Spaghetti and Meatballs. Wonderful atmosphere! Great service. We would highly recommend.
