Parkway Grill Ratings and Reviews
A restaurant with great food, service and quiet, spacious ambiance. It is increasingly difficult to find a restaurant that has all of the essential elements of a fine dining experience. Look no further than Parkway Grill for all that you need for a fine meal. The steaks and lobster mashed potatoes were fantastic, as was the bread plate. I'll definitely return to try other things on the menu.
We returned to Parkway Grill after many years. The food was excellent, as it should be for the price. We asked for a quiet table and were seated where we were not close to a big party (there were two at the time). The service was a little disappointing. We had to ask for the bread basket after we saw it on other tables but not on ours. A second glass of wine came too late in the meal to be enjoyed with food. Overall, though, Parkway Grill deserves its good reputation for providing fine dining.
The Parkway Grill was recommended by our Uber Black driver, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Between the four of us, we had the Whitefish (very tasty and mild), the bone-in rib eye (cooked to perfection) and the lamb chops. Great bottles of Cakebread (?) Chardonnay and Goldeneye Pinot Noir. The evening ended with the Neapolitan Creme Brulee (shared and devoured quickly). The best part of the evening, however, was the amazing service given to us by Ericka. She is a tremendous plus for the Parkside Grill. We ended the evening in the lounge with the fantastic piano playing. All in all a perfect evening that demands a five-star rating.
Service was just okay but that might have been because we were on a firm lunch. Appetizers and desserts were great but the fried chicken sandwich was not great. Everyone had the salmon which I've had and loved but everything on the menu should be good not just okay like this fried chicken sandwich was. Service was okay as they refilled everything and cleaned our plates but their attitude was not awesome. Excluding the hosts that were wonderful!
Parkway Grill was always a special experience when I lived in Pasadena. Now living in San Francisco, I returned to Pasadena and looked forward to dining at Parkway Grill. Perhaps my expectations affected my response to the meal. A Caesar salad was uninteresting and while not over-generous, was significantly remaining on my wife's and my plate; the Romaine was warm rather than chilled, and while a few anchovies were draped over, the dressing was less than Caesarly. Whilke I heard no complaints about the appetizers of covered dates abnd another of lollypop lamb chops, my pricey ($48) halibut was not particularly large and was flavored mostly by a bed of grain and supposedly lobster but was not particularly flavorably or delicious so as to enhance the fish. An evening ending cappucino was excellent.
Food was wonderful as always but we ordered the special rib eye and the bill came with a $77 charge for the entree. Significantly higher than anything in the menu. Food was great but $77 for an entree is ridiculous (especially with no warning from the waiter)
As many times before, I had another great time, food and wine with my kids - Celebrating my birthday. The room was filled with energy - could have been because the Dodger game was on and they Won! The Bar scene is always fun and piano music fills the air with a damn good Martini. Can't wait to be back soon !
It’s my first time here, and the occasion was special as it was firmly hysbsnd’s birthday celebration. The experience was memorable, everything from the atmosphere to the food and service. It’s also a plus that there’s complimentary valet parking. The food was delicious and enjoyable, menu was impressive. Our server was kind and knew the menu very well. I will definitely return.
Despite it’s long lasting popularity, my entree (Wild Alaskan King salmon, special entree of the evening) was bland in taste, and overcooked, ie, I specifically asked for medium rare of my fish. Services are fine. Don’t think we will be returning again soon.
We had a wonderful evening. Our food was fabulous. I had the Bolognese and the watermelon salad. My wife had the hamachi crudo salad and the angel hair pasta. Our guest had the scallops entree.
The watermelon, heritage tomatoes with buratta was amazing and my bolognese one of the best I’ve ever had.
Our server, Anna is the best. She waited on us at Secos when it was still open and is just the best sever.
Thank you Parkway for a very enjoyable birthday evening.
This was my husband and I 3rd visit to this restaurant. In general, this place has a great ambiance and great decorations with huge beautiful vase of flowers in center of the restaurants. The food and service was very good the first two times we went there. This time we were with another couple and it was on a Friday night. We had to wait for 45 minutes although we had reservation. We sat and listen to the piano by the bar. The server was not that great. We had to wait for him to get us water, salt,... we had to call other waiters and ask them to call our waiter. I had fried catfish. It looked really good. But it didn't taste like anything. It had little flavor. It was much better once I added little lemon and salt. In general, I like this place and I probably would go there again and hopefully I get a service as good as the first two times.
Parkway Grill has been around a long time because they keep the menu fresh, the restaurant clean and vibrant, and have a more upscale clientele. The food is outstanding and the service excellent. I would not hesitate to go for a business meeting or a special occasion.
The food was good, but I wouldn't order the squid ink tonnarelli again. I should have realized it was more like spaghetti - I thought it was a filled pasta. Anyway, I thought the flavor was lacking a bit.
We placed an order for dessert and coffee but it took so long that we had to cancel it so we could make our concert start time.
I love the ambiance - excellent lighting and the music is played at the perfect volume.
Still, a good evening and I would return.
I've been coming to the Parkway Grill for many years. The food is always good but the restaurant always falls short in one way or another. Service, lighting, noise level, etc. Its never all right at the same time. On this visit the service was slow and once we had our meal we needed to keep flagging down bus people or waiters of other tables to get the follow up service we needed like, more butter, bread, re fills on drinks, our check etc. Not acceptable for the level of restaurant its professed to be or could be. Shame.
THERE IS NOT TOO MANY RESTAURANTS THAT ARE CLOSE BY FOR ME TO TAKE FOR A SPECIAL B/D OR TO A NICE QUIET LUNCH TOGETHER WITH FRIEND/S. I CHOSE TO THIS PLACE, BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN COMING TO THIS RESTAURANT SINCE THEY OPENED AND HAVE IMPROVED OVER THE YEARS. LOVED THIS RESTAURANT STILL GIVES NICE FLOWERS TO THE PERSON FOR SPECIAL EVENTS. MY GUEST WAS VERY HAPPY TO REC. THEM. SPECIAL 88 YRS OF AGE, AND IT'S MY GIFT FOR HER THAN GIVING HER A GIFT CARD.
My wife and I automatically think of Parkway Grill for our birthdays, anniversary, Valentine Day and other memorable days that we want to celebrate with a great meal, good drinks and a wonderful atmosphere. We have been doing this for years and we will continue to do as we have had a quality experience each and every time.
