Demonstrating the ultimate commitment to fresh produce, Parkway Grill planted its own organic vegetable and herb garden behind the restaurant, which continues to thrive for over 25 years on a piece of prime real estate in the heart of Pasadena.
My lovely wife’s birthday. A wonderful night with a very helpful staff. Thanks to Anna from Ireland for fantastic service. Couldn’t have been nicer except they ran out of the promised Halibut! Haha. The ribeye was the best.
I have been going to Parkway for years. One can rely on the food to be very good and the service to be excellent. A beautiful setting for special meals.
what I would call casual elegance, convenient free valet parking, friendly, polite service, creative and excellent food
I think price wise the food should have been outstanding! My pasta was too salty, my husband's scallops overcooked, one friend like her chicken and the other friend thought her's was ok.
The ambience was nice and perfect for conversation.
Amazing food! Waiter very attentive and oustanding service. Will definitely will be back!
Great Food. and Service.
The manager and staff were attentive!
Catfish dry but the skin was too oily. Waitress did not know what a split was. The glass of campaign was half full for $11.00. Music too loud. Parking fine, but did not get a parking stub with a number upon arriving so there was some delay in getting my car.
My first time there and I was impressed. Good service and food was delicious. Ron was our waiter and he was nice and attentive. Thanks for the awesome experience!
Parkway Grill is an elegant, fine-dining experience that I would recommend to anyone who asks. The ambiance was outstanding, with just the right amount of mood lighting and the ability to see across the room. The staff was exceptional and courteous. The food was prepared well and the quality, along with the taste, was great.
Had a NY strip and it was chewy and not USDA prime. It was also slightly overlooked. For $50+ it should be better. My first time there and last. I’ll go to Arroyo Chop House instead.
Fantastic barrel aged Old Fashioneds, terrific food, great atmosphere. Pricey, but worth it!
Great service, good food and nice ambiance. However, the restaurant was quite smokey from the wood burning pizza oven. We have been to this restaurant many times over the years and never experienced a smoke filled restaurant. Although we had a wonderful evening, the smoke made it difficult to breathe and enjoy the atmosphere fully. That being said, our server apologized many times and immediately sent over the manager, who addressed it quickly and efficiently. They opened the front door and turned on the A/C to help circulate the air, which helped a bit. Really appreciated their efforts.
The Good—love food & waiter service.
bar tender was surly & when I went to the restroom I found my seat at bar was moved without explanation or my approval.
Hostess has a sour disposition like she was doing me a great favor. My date concurred! Been with you restaurant for over 30 years—Has there been a change in Management—very sad.
I think I’ve been here 5 times in the last few months . Love
Haven’t been here in awhile, but it’s always been a favorite. Two of us had the fish of the day, black cod, and it was cooked perfect. The dish was delicious, with a sauce, yams and bok Choy. Mouth watering. The other guest had the tostada salad and it too was yummy. Excellent service, ambience and food. Simply wonderful lunch!
Great staff. Great service. Beautiful ambiance. Delicious food with nice presentation. Just a little pricey as compared to other upper scale restaurants.
I've made occasional visits to Parkway Grill for 20-something years now. It has always been reliably excellent--not daring or edgy, but always perfectly prepared food with perfectly executed service. This visit the food was just as good, but the service had slipped substantially--not at all what I expected for a restaurant at this price point. Sad.
Delicious food, great service and fantastic ambience. That said, don’t believe it was all worth what was paid for the meal. Might recommend to others for special occasion but not as a regular joint.
We like parkway grill and come for our special occasion. Our server Jose is wonderful and has always well taken care of us. Food was great, desert was excellent, and service was outstanding, Enjoyed the music as well. It is nice to be able to celebrate my 68th birthday in such a wonderful restaurant.
Great bar and super bartenders. Friendly staff. Knowledgeable about wine. Food was impressive.
Parkway Grill is always been my go to for best on all counts when I was living in SoCal and now that I live outside of the area. The Smith Brothers assure all is 5 stars.
Food was disappointed and tasteless and flavorless, even the Cesar Salad was tasteless! The steak was not tender even we ordered in rare. The tuna tartars tasted bland as well. Even the braised short rib was not flavorful. The oyster was the only food that was up to the Parkway Grill standard we remembered.
The service remains awesome. The noise level was too high that I can hardly hear what my husband said.
Maybe our taste buds have been spoiled over the years. But I am sad that this maybe the last Parkway Grill visit we will have for next 3-5 years.
It was a lovely birthday lunch for a special friend.
This has always been a beautiful setting. The service has always been very good. But the food used to be much better. The menu and the preparation are tired. There's nothing special here if you're looking for a terrific meal - other than the catfish, which is still stellar. But if you're looking for a great place, which is different, this is it. If you're looking for a great meal, not so much.
As always the best!
A lovely evening. Parking is a bit confusing with the chop house next door. Enjoyed Nancy playing the piano. Cocktails excellent and nice, generous glass of wine. Enjoyed the appetizers and main courses. Servers came at the right time. The evening was relaxing and on a stormy evening, all the candles were beautiful.
Love this place! Food is always incredible. Love the bartenders, Mark and Naz. The piano on Saturday is awesome.
Mediocre food. Pappardell noodels were stuck together. Had to send the white fish back because it was under cooked. At those prices, no excuse for that.
Great spot for a nice dinner before seeing a show at the Playhouse nearby.
As always, a consistent well done meal. I entertained visitors from out of state, and they were immediately impressed with the ambiance, and it stayed upbeat from there. Service good, meal served on time, Food good, and we were left alone at the right times, and served when we needed attention.
The Parkway Grill is one of my favorite restaurants in Pasadena. The food and ambiance make for a very delightful evening. The bass we had tonight was so delicious and delicate. My Cesar salad was a nice balance of lemon and garlic with those salty sardines. I just love the piano music in the background. We will go again.
Excellent dining experience.
Great food and awesome service! I highly recommend this restaurant. Make sure to do a reservation especially if you will be going on a weekend.
Absolutely wonderful evening again at the Parkway Grill. The service was impeccable and the food was excellent. Thank you for making our special evening one to remember. Plus the music was very conducive to our dining experience.
Parkway Grill is simply the best--for food, ambiance, service, general experience. The Tiki Salad (actually a terrine) is simply wonderful. But everything is. For lunch or dinner, this is my go-to really special place.
Dining in Parkway is always great. I loved especially the attentiveness of our waiters. Special mention of Ron. He always makes his customers feel special! Parkway will always be that special place for me to meet friends, have a great lunch or dinner!
Every time is a wonderful experience. We enjoy dining there and when we want to feel special we like to spend some time at Parkway Grill. The live music at the bar area adds a touch of old Hollywood
Always a good time at Parkway Grill!
They do such a lovely job with celebrations of special occasions. My program coordinator had flowers and a nice card from the restaurant. Service is good, and the food is better. Lunch for three (no wine, no appetizers, only pasta, one dessert, coffee and iced tea) was $150 with tip included.
This is one of the older, best, and most dependable restaurant in Pasadena. The menu has many options, with both treasured favorites and innovative specials. Plus the ambiance with the fireplace and the walls of Millard Sheets watercolors -- nothing in the city compares for a nice intimate dinner.
