Demonstrating the ultimate commitment to fresh produce, Parkway Grill planted its own organic vegetable and herb garden behind the restaurant, which continues to thrive for over 25 years on a piece of prime real estate in the heart of Pasadena.
Excellent as always. We’ve been enjoying this restaurant for over 25 years.
We introduced some friends to your restaurant on 2/17 . You ran out of catfish ???? That was why we went . Not to worry because what we ordered was delicious. We did promise to take them back for the catfish:)
Great, as always!
Been coming here for years and enjoyable, however it has seemingly gotten very expensive and price has outpaced the food, which is still good, but the prices are a bit much. I never seem to order the pizza, but I will have to do that next time.
Outstanding service. The food was on point and delicious.
Free Valet parking is available and assuming its mandatory. Dont really like it because it feels like you're being rushed out of your car. First time here so I wasnt aware of the parking situation.
Service was great. The manager was very attentive, courteous, and helpful. Our waitress was also great.
Chose the fillet mignon. Everything is a la' carte. Side are separate obviously but very small. Bread basket looked incredible but the variation of breads were just OK. Really liked Houstons better.
The restaurant is nice and opened. The people that visit this place seemed to be wealthy, arrogant, and rude from what I observed and heard. I guess money makes you act this way. No common courtesy from anyone dining inside. I really feel bad for the staff and management.
Genearally we very much enjoy this restaurant but lunch on Valentine’s Day was an exception to this. We asked to be seated in the alcove if possible but all the tables in that area had been made tables for two. We four were seated right outside the room at a table too large for the spot.
For some reason there were no spoons on the table and I had to use my knife to stir sugar in my tea! And the glasses have all been changed to those ridiculous stemless ones now so fashionable. Bad enough that the water is served that way but so was iced tea and the glasses are really too hard to hold for my small hand.
But the food was as good as ever.
Wonderful place! Definitely my go to place to relax and enjoy.
Very sophisticated, attention to detail to make for a great experience
Parkway grill always impresses. Their food and service are consistently excellent. Great bar, also. One of the really nice things about Parkway Grill is the amount if space between the tables. Almost all of the new, highly rated restaurants really crowd you in which detracts from the dining experience. We love Parkway Grill
Went here for our anniversary and it was some of the best service we have ever had. Received flowers, complimentary dessert and a beautiful card. We were seated in the back corner and it was so peaceful and quiet. So so happy with the decision to celebrate here!
The birthday celebration was great, as was the food and the attention of the waitress. We really enjoyed it all.
I used to go to this restaurant all of the time, and stop going about 10 years ago - because the food got tired and service was spotty (many servers had an attitude - common among Smith Brothers' restaurants - I also stopped going to Smitty's). I recently was invited to go with a friend who is a regular there for his birthday lunch, and it was pretty good. Menu updated, and on that the service was great (it was a waiter who knew my friend). So, I decided to take my husband there for lunch - the service was slow, our waitress disappeared, and when I asked her to clean the table, she said she'll ask the "busboy" to do it, and when he didn't, her response was she asked him to do it, and when he came around, she thew him under the bus, and said, she did not know why he hadn't done it, right in front of him......my only thought, now I remember why I stopped coming here.
Food was good, no surprises. The disappointment came from being rushed. The wait staff repeatedly trying to clear our plates while we were still eating. They also brought the check while we were still eating desert, and did not mention anything about taking our time. This was all before having even been there for a hour; not what I would expect, particularly when we had a reservation.
Poor service. Forgot our drink order, then let us sit for 60 minutes before mentioning that there was a delay in food. Hardly came by table during that 60 minutes like embarrassed to tell us there was a problem
The waiter was uninterested. He did not ask us how the food was after it was delivered. If he had I would have told him that my steak (rib eye $49) was very fatty; about one half was inedible. I have never sent food back, so I did not do so on this occasion either. When paying the bill, $200+, I filled out the customer review form and noted the issues with the steak. The hostess/manager immediately came and apologized and comped the steak. She was very gracious. We had not seen the waiter since he dropped off the check.
My wife's ribs and our Caesar salad were great. Too bad about the food and service.
Excellent service, food and ambiance
Another outstanding lunch at TPG. I have dined here 2-3 times a year for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. A treasured gem!
Have been to Parkway many times and never been disappointed. This visit was great- server was well informed, helpful with menu and wine choices and was available but unobtrusive. Food was very creative, well presented and completely satisfying. Wanted a place for a long conversation without being interrupted or pushed along- and got more than we expected.
Another very good dining experience at a Smith Brothers restaurant. Normally I order one of the fish dishes, and my wife always enjoys either fish or meat. This evening I wanted something different so I started dinner with the Ahi Tartare follow by an excellent pasta course of prime beef tagliatelle pasta in a reduced veal sauce. My wife enjoyed a bone in filet. I must also mentioned our waiter Ron that was both very professional and friendly. Dinners should consider asking for his area, I know we will.
Very noisy....loud waitress, particularly with table below us....
I had not been to Parkway Grill in at least several years; frankly, it was my second choice. It's now my FIRSTt for Pasadena. The room is, as I remembered, well and interestingly accessorized. Because of the carpeting and upholstery; even as the room filled, (and it was clear there were/would be a large number of parties of 8-16 this Saturday night; my partner and I could have a convivial conversation and still lightly hear the piped in music---How rare!! The Crab Cakes, (2) were the perfect amuse before our fish entrees. He had the Halibut with Creamed Spinach and I had the White Fish with Mushroom Risotto. Both were beautifully plated/presented and almost equally delicious*....perfectly cooked fish, not dry at all, (another rarity---most cover this with a gallon of sauce. *But as savory as my Risotto was; the Creamed Spinach had both of us humoresquely jousting for the last forkfuls of the Creamed Spinach. We asked our ever alacritous waiter for more information....ok so we could attempt a reproduction at home....he was only able to say it was freshly made for this evening and had Parmesan cheese in. I WANT THAT RECIPE PLEASE!! It's so fabulous; it could be on toast, sorry, brioche for breakfast, under left-over salmon for lunch and the options for an addition to dinner are endless. Which is to say; if such attention and culinary craft is applied to what is normally seconed-ed as merely a "Side Dish"; the excellence of this chef and the kitchen staff that clearly support each plate must be praised, noted and well, retuned to often. My hats off & aloft to your toques!
Very good service with the wonderful dineLA menu
My Husband and I took our client for dinner to celebrate sale of his house. We often go there to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays. The food is excellent and we love the ambiance and the piano bar. Although it's pricey I think it worth it for special occasions.
PG is always great! The catfish is awesome. Service is impeccable and the bartender is tops! Can’t say even good things about this restaurant
Great menu and wine list. Service was excellent.
Never disappointing. Always delicious food and perfect service. You cant go wrong dining here.
We dined here on a Monday night. The wait staff was slow and very pretentious. With other, better options in Pasadena, I likely wouldn’t return to this restaurant. Food was ok but not great and martinis lacked a good shake.
It was wonderful, food, service, and everyone who waited on us was so friendly. We will keep coming back.
Meeting with close friends
The reason some food writers say Parkway Grill is the best in Pasadena is simply because it is. You do not survive and thrive in that market for as long as the have without being customer directed.
Food was delicious and service was great!
My husband’s cat fish was dry, way over done. He said it was hard as a rock. My ahi tuna tartare was delicious. The service that night was not up to par. It usually is our go to restaurant for special occasions so we were a bit disappointed that night.
Exquisite service, exceptional food. Parkway Grill is a gem in Pasadena.
Was able to celebrate a special birthday and had a wonderful service and dining experience.
Beautiful restaurant with top quality food! Highly recommend! Would definitely return for more!
Parkway Grill is a beautiful restaurant with great art work on the walls, comfortable seating, and great service. The food is also special from the brick oven flatbread to the bone in rib eye steaks. Every thing we ordered was cooked perfectly. Even the bread plate had a variety of different and unusual breads. The quantity was so large that we tool half our meal items home. A great place for celebrations!
Menu limited; the chicken was miserable; the food not very hot; the waiter was in a hurry and forgot to tell us about the specials (unlike tables around us); the noise from a nearby table was high. Prices were high. In the past I've had a good experience there. This time was disappointing.
I expect at least a cupcake to celebrate our anniversary like other customers they serve. Instead, no cupcake, no flower, like there across the e tables. A little disappointed with the waiter, but other than that, everything was good as usual except this time , the appetizer need to be replaced due to under standard. Overall , it was a a great meal as usually good.
Ordered the pan seared Chilean sea bass special. It was absolutely outstanding. I almost licked my plate. Thank you
The food is excellent and service, ambience is great! Beautiful Christmas decorations!
