Demonstrating the ultimate commitment to fresh produce, Parkway Grill planted its own organic vegetable and herb garden behind the restaurant, which continues to thrive for over 25 years on a piece of prime real estate in the heart of Pasadena.
Haven’t been here in awhile, but it’s always been a favorite. Two of us had the fish of the day, black cod, and it was cooked perfect. The dish was delicious, with a sauce, yams and bok Choy. Mouth watering. The other guest had the tostada salad and it too was yummy. Excellent service, ambience and food. Simply wonderful lunch!
Great staff. Great service. Beautiful ambiance. Delicious food with nice presentation. Just a little pricey as compared to other upper scale restaurants.
I've made occasional visits to Parkway Grill for 20-something years now. It has always been reliably excellent--not daring or edgy, but always perfectly prepared food with perfectly executed service. This visit the food was just as good, but the service had slipped substantially--not at all what I expected for a restaurant at this price point. Sad.
Delicious food, great service and fantastic ambience. That said, don’t believe it was all worth what was paid for the meal. Might recommend to others for special occasion but not as a regular joint.
We like parkway grill and come for our special occasion. Our server Jose is wonderful and has always well taken care of us. Food was great, desert was excellent, and service was outstanding, Enjoyed the music as well. It is nice to be able to celebrate my 68th birthday in such a wonderful restaurant.
Great bar and super bartenders. Friendly staff. Knowledgeable about wine. Food was impressive.
Parkway Grill is always been my go to for best on all counts when I was living in SoCal and now that I live outside of the area. The Smith Brothers assure all is 5 stars.
Food was disappointed and tasteless and flavorless, even the Cesar Salad was tasteless! The steak was not tender even we ordered in rare. The tuna tartars tasted bland as well. Even the braised short rib was not flavorful. The oyster was the only food that was up to the Parkway Grill standard we remembered.
The service remains awesome. The noise level was too high that I can hardly hear what my husband said.
Maybe our taste buds have been spoiled over the years. But I am sad that this maybe the last Parkway Grill visit we will have for next 3-5 years.
It was a lovely birthday lunch for a special friend.
This has always been a beautiful setting. The service has always been very good. But the food used to be much better. The menu and the preparation are tired. There's nothing special here if you're looking for a terrific meal - other than the catfish, which is still stellar. But if you're looking for a great place, which is different, this is it. If you're looking for a great meal, not so much.
A lovely evening. Parking is a bit confusing with the chop house next door. Enjoyed Nancy playing the piano. Cocktails excellent and nice, generous glass of wine. Enjoyed the appetizers and main courses. Servers came at the right time. The evening was relaxing and on a stormy evening, all the candles were beautiful.
Love this place! Food is always incredible. Love the bartenders, Mark and Naz. The piano on Saturday is awesome.
Mediocre food. Pappardell noodels were stuck together. Had to send the white fish back because it was under cooked. At those prices, no excuse for that.
Great spot for a nice dinner before seeing a show at the Playhouse nearby.
As always, a consistent well done meal. I entertained visitors from out of state, and they were immediately impressed with the ambiance, and it stayed upbeat from there. Service good, meal served on time, Food good, and we were left alone at the right times, and served when we needed attention.
The Parkway Grill is one of my favorite restaurants in Pasadena. The food and ambiance make for a very delightful evening. The bass we had tonight was so delicious and delicate. My Cesar salad was a nice balance of lemon and garlic with those salty sardines. I just love the piano music in the background. We will go again.
Excellent dining experience.
Great food and awesome service! I highly recommend this restaurant. Make sure to do a reservation especially if you will be going on a weekend.
Absolutely wonderful evening again at the Parkway Grill. The service was impeccable and the food was excellent. Thank you for making our special evening one to remember. Plus the music was very conducive to our dining experience.
Parkway Grill is simply the best--for food, ambiance, service, general experience. The Tiki Salad (actually a terrine) is simply wonderful. But everything is. For lunch or dinner, this is my go-to really special place.
Dining in Parkway is always great. I loved especially the attentiveness of our waiters. Special mention of Ron. He always makes his customers feel special! Parkway will always be that special place for me to meet friends, have a great lunch or dinner!
Every time is a wonderful experience. We enjoy dining there and when we want to feel special we like to spend some time at Parkway Grill. The live music at the bar area adds a touch of old Hollywood
Always a good time at Parkway Grill!
They do such a lovely job with celebrations of special occasions. My program coordinator had flowers and a nice card from the restaurant. Service is good, and the food is better. Lunch for three (no wine, no appetizers, only pasta, one dessert, coffee and iced tea) was $150 with tip included.
This is one of the older, best, and most dependable restaurant in Pasadena. The menu has many options, with both treasured favorites and innovative specials. Plus the ambiance with the fireplace and the walls of Millard Sheets watercolors -- nothing in the city compares for a nice intimate dinner.
Excellent as always. We’ve been enjoying this restaurant for over 25 years.
We introduced some friends to your restaurant on 2/17 . You ran out of catfish ???? That was why we went . Not to worry because what we ordered was delicious. We did promise to take them back for the catfish:)
Great, as always!
Been coming here for years and enjoyable, however it has seemingly gotten very expensive and price has outpaced the food, which is still good, but the prices are a bit much. I never seem to order the pizza, but I will have to do that next time.
Outstanding service. The food was on point and delicious.
Free Valet parking is available and assuming its mandatory. Dont really like it because it feels like you're being rushed out of your car. First time here so I wasnt aware of the parking situation.
Service was great. The manager was very attentive, courteous, and helpful. Our waitress was also great.
Chose the fillet mignon. Everything is a la' carte. Side are separate obviously but very small. Bread basket looked incredible but the variation of breads were just OK. Really liked Houstons better.
The restaurant is nice and opened. The people that visit this place seemed to be wealthy, arrogant, and rude from what I observed and heard. I guess money makes you act this way. No common courtesy from anyone dining inside. I really feel bad for the staff and management.
Genearally we very much enjoy this restaurant but lunch on Valentine’s Day was an exception to this. We asked to be seated in the alcove if possible but all the tables in that area had been made tables for two. We four were seated right outside the room at a table too large for the spot.
For some reason there were no spoons on the table and I had to use my knife to stir sugar in my tea! And the glasses have all been changed to those ridiculous stemless ones now so fashionable. Bad enough that the water is served that way but so was iced tea and the glasses are really too hard to hold for my small hand.
But the food was as good as ever.
Wonderful place! Definitely my go to place to relax and enjoy.
Very sophisticated, attention to detail to make for a great experience
Parkway grill always impresses. Their food and service are consistently excellent. Great bar, also. One of the really nice things about Parkway Grill is the amount if space between the tables. Almost all of the new, highly rated restaurants really crowd you in which detracts from the dining experience. We love Parkway Grill
Went here for our anniversary and it was some of the best service we have ever had. Received flowers, complimentary dessert and a beautiful card. We were seated in the back corner and it was so peaceful and quiet. So so happy with the decision to celebrate here!
The birthday celebration was great, as was the food and the attention of the waitress. We really enjoyed it all.
I used to go to this restaurant all of the time, and stop going about 10 years ago - because the food got tired and service was spotty (many servers had an attitude - common among Smith Brothers' restaurants - I also stopped going to Smitty's). I recently was invited to go with a friend who is a regular there for his birthday lunch, and it was pretty good. Menu updated, and on that the service was great (it was a waiter who knew my friend). So, I decided to take my husband there for lunch - the service was slow, our waitress disappeared, and when I asked her to clean the table, she said she'll ask the "busboy" to do it, and when he didn't, her response was she asked him to do it, and when he came around, she thew him under the bus, and said, she did not know why he hadn't done it, right in front of him......my only thought, now I remember why I stopped coming here.
Food was good, no surprises. The disappointment came from being rushed. The wait staff repeatedly trying to clear our plates while we were still eating. They also brought the check while we were still eating desert, and did not mention anything about taking our time. This was all before having even been there for a hour; not what I would expect, particularly when we had a reservation.
Poor service. Forgot our drink order, then let us sit for 60 minutes before mentioning that there was a delay in food. Hardly came by table during that 60 minutes like embarrassed to tell us there was a problem
The waiter was uninterested. He did not ask us how the food was after it was delivered. If he had I would have told him that my steak (rib eye $49) was very fatty; about one half was inedible. I have never sent food back, so I did not do so on this occasion either. When paying the bill, $200+, I filled out the customer review form and noted the issues with the steak. The hostess/manager immediately came and apologized and comped the steak. She was very gracious. We had not seen the waiter since he dropped off the check.
My wife's ribs and our Caesar salad were great. Too bad about the food and service.
