this is one of our favorite restaurants and have been coming to this location before it was even parkside; but parkside food is really great. we walked in and had to wait at the bar for our table which was fine, we were early. the bartender didn't acknowledge us for at least ten minutes. when I flagged down the bartender at the other end of the bar we were redirected to the bartender who wouldn't acknowledge us- even though we were in plain sight. not to mention that I bartended my way through college and could have handled 5 deep in the time she still didn't acknowledge us. anyway, we ended up walking out. very unfortunate.
We had a great dining experience. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious.
Consistently excellent -- great combination of local seafood (Friday night oysters are an awesome appetizer!!) and great menu.
It was lovely. Bistro burger was great.
really good, real real good. Liked it a lot. Would go back.
My husband and I really enjoyed our Valentine's Dinner here! Great ambiance, food, service! I also eat here often for lunch since I work nearby, and always find everyone there to be friendly and professional and the food is just delicious! A big thank you to Steve and his staff!
Filet special tonight was absolutely the best piece of meat I have ever eaten.
I always enjoy the food at the Parkside and the ambiance reminds of restaurants in NYC. One of my favorites in RI
Use to be a favorite, but we had not been in years. The service remained top shelf and the menu has expanded but they have kept our favorite dishes. Great experience. We will return.
It was a Friday night so the Parkside was crowded, too crowded. The tables are so closed together you can hardly move. The noise level is intolerable. Good food, OK service. Go there if you don't want to talk and if you want to feel cramped.
Phenomenal gem. Every time we dine there, we say, "Let's come back tomorrow!"
The food is always good and consistent. The bread was very good for a change. I learned they ran out of the regular bread, which tastes like stale diner fare. My only complaint related to the noise level. If you sit in the back area, be prepared to yell and say "I'm sorry, what did you say?" a lot! It is SOOOO loud back there, especially if there are any big parties. It's anything but relaxing. They desperately need to install some noise absorption materials on the ceiling or walls.
Food, atmosphere , service all excellent. Would definitely recommend it!
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner on Saturday and everything was absolutely amazing. From the drinks, to the appetizers and main entrees, Parkside did not disappoint. I haven’t been here in years and I’m so happy I finally gave it another try. The head chef, Robbie, really knows what he’s doing- the food was outstanding. My boyfriend said it’s the best meal he’s ever had. We will definitely be back!
As always everything was great, well taken care of by staff, and food was delicious
The restaurant was very noisy. We ordered the dumplings to split as an app. They were fried and very hard to cut into. The filling just fell right out. We both ordered specials and they were ok but disappointed by them overall. We also waited nearly an hour in between our app and entrees. Others around us who sat down after were getting served before us. We also had to ask for bread after we saw everyone else was getting bread.
Really enjoyed it again. Nice on a quiet weeknight. Noise level low and lots of privacy. We will be back.
We went to the Parkside for a special business meal and were expertly attended to by several waiters. The restaurant serves very good food at a reasonable price with unobtrusive service.
Parkside is a favorite place for my wife and I to dine out in Providence. We like the valet parking and great service. Love the food.
Excellent food and service. Our waiter was not pushy at all and let us dine at our own pace.
Wonderful evening with excellent service and delicious food!
Wow, what a great meals we had last weekend! Went for Restaurant Week. Service was very good and they have a wonderful bar with many different cocktails. It's one of our favorites and proof is that it has existed for years and is aways busy. Just go and give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
This was an experience that really spanned the spectrum. The food was fantastic, but the establishment obviously had difficulty with the crowds this particular night due to restaurant week.
Had a reservation for 2 at 7pm and was told to grab a seat the bar by the hostess until our table became available. 7:15pm rolls around, then 7:30. See several groups come in after us and get seated before us. Overheard a conversation between the manager/host and hostess, where the former instructed the latter to seat a 7:30 party of 2 before us. We were finally seated a little before 8pm.
It then took another 10-15 minutes a server to come to our table. Our server was great, despite the fact she obviously had just been told to come cover our table. She was attentive and ave good recommendations. From there, the experience was quite good.
I was a bit suprised that they were comfortable charging full price after having a reservation and being made to wait to get seated and served. A "Hey. Sorry for the inconvenience. Here's an app (or dessert or a glass of wine) on us" would have cured all ills.
The food is always beautifully seasoned and prepared in subtly different ways.
We were back in "Friartown" for a basketball as we are PC alum. Picked Parkside at the recommendation of my husbands colleague. Wonderful way to start our getaway weekend! Great food, great service, great atmosphere and great location!
I would say not their best night. I went on Open Table to make a reservation at Parkside for a special event dinner with my wife and was pleased I had many choices of time - 7:00, 7:15, 7:30 or 7:45. I chose 7:15 and we arrived five minutes early. The gentleman at the front told us it would be just a few minutes for our table and suggested we take a seat at the bar. After waiting 30 minutes I went back and asked if we were close. He clearly had forgotten us, as we inquired if we were a table for four. I corrected him and he said it would just be another minute. Thirty more minutes went by and now, when he had to walk other diners past us while we were seated at the bar he almost comically worked to not make eye contact. Table after table turned over, but not for us. So at about 8:15 we asked the bartender if we could eat at the bar, which we did and it was fine. But, seriously, what's up with this? Either they took way, way too many reservations than they could handle or he wasn't taking customer service too seriously. Either way, it was not the evening we were looking for.
We went for lunch during Providence Restaurant Weeks on Friday 1/19/18, and it was very nice. Our appetizer was "pork wings" - a sort of pork drumstick with sweet/sour sauce which was very tender and very good. I had the lobster tortelloni, which were very nice; Partner had the chicken pot pie crepe, which he said was excellent and very inventive - a rethinking of a classic comfort food with a gourmet twist. We both had the beignet Foster for dessert, which was delicious. Service was excellent. I hadn't been here for some years, but I will definitely go back soon.
First time there. Loved it. Will go back. Food was served hot, which I love
Wonderful overall dining experience, very personable and helpful waiter
90 mins to be served. Didn't get menus until we asked. Didn't have beers listed on menu. Food just average at best.
